I booked a room at Scottish Inns in Collinsville, VA, for Dec 2nd-Dec 3rd and I checked in a little after 6pm, almost 7pm. I stayed in the room for about 4 to 5 hours and within the 2nd hour, I realized there were roaches. I got pictures. I tried calling twice to switch rooms. The lady at the desk refused due to me having a smoking room. I don't smoke, but my boyfriend does and I'm guessing what she had left was non-smoking rooms. However, my boyfriend didn't mind smoking outside, and I wouldn't get an extra charge. I just wanted to be in a room where I felt comfortable since I had paid my money, and she just wanted me to deal with it.
She handled this whole situation wrong and unprofessionally. She was cursing and was in denial about having bugs. I called the website customer service I booked the room through, to get a refund, but they basically told me it was up to her. She refused. She lied and said I used her towels. They were untouched because the tub wasn't clean and I didn't feel comfortable. The beds were still practically made because that's where I saw the first roach.
I went at about 11:35 to return the key with the customer service rep on the line, to explain to her she needed to do something on her end so I could get my refund. I was very respectful, but she slammed the window in my face. I'm not letting this go. I don't care who I have to contact; the way she treated me was rude. It's not fair that I'm being denied a refund. There're in the drawers and if you look closely, there was a black one inside the outlet. This wasn't even all of them.
