Which horse did you purchase? Why did you purchase it anyways if you wanted to see it before purchase?

I’m sure no one made you purchase the horse without seeing it first.

And why didn’t you contact her to work things out rather than leaving a negative review? Just curious

False information!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Misadvertised age: listed 15, assessed 25 with few teeth and Cushing's.
  • - Horse is dying despite care and high costs; do homework before buying.

4 years ago I bought a Percheron from this group advertised as a 15 year old . He arrived to me and was assessed to be 25 with minimal teeth and with untreated cushings disease.

I was angry.i confronted this group and was told

Aging a horse by its teeth is always an estimate

Everyone has a different opinion. Online studies proof that. I got his estimated age from the previous owner and my vet. This is how he was advertised.

I trust those people. Your vet is taking a wide guess bc he doesnt know

Love him and enjoy him and dont think about it

We never know when its our last day on earth, nobody can control it.

I was pissed as I paid nearly $4000 for a rescue quality horse, but you know what they say about horse traderslesson learned

We have loved him the best we could..We have put 800 a month in grain in him to keep the weight on him. We have ensured appropriate vet care, mouth care every six months so the few teeth he does have dont impair his ability to eat. He has been a financial drain on our family.

But he has been loved.

Tonight I find myself pissed again. He is dying..

and my kids should not have to put this horse to sleep so soon. The is unbearable to watch.

Do your homework when buying from this group as what you are told is probably a partial truth if even that.

User's recommendation: Don’t do it!

Lied about the horse’s condition

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Horse arrived malnourished and dehydrated; dull coat and mental shut down.
  • - Age and teeth misrepresented; vet/dentist say the horse is mid-20s.
Original review updated Oct 21, 2024

I'll tell you about my experience, and then you can decide for yourself whether this is a good place to buy a horse. When my horse walked off the trailer, I was mortified.

I couldn't believe what I saw. It was definitely not the same horse that was featured in their advertisement pictures. I thought I had done my due diligence in researching this business, but I was wrong. The power of the delete button exists.

The horse was dehydrated and lacked basic nutrients, so much so that the problem couldn't be blamed on the trailer ride. The horse was several hundred pounds underweight, had a dull coat, runny eyes, and was mentally shut down. The horse lacked so much muscle, that the topline didn't even exist, and the hips were protruding. I have pictures of everything, all time-stamped, from the second that horse arrived at my barn.

I specifically asked about the condition of the teeth and was told they didn't need to be done. Which was true, but truthfully deceitful. In fact, this 14-year-old horse is actually in its mid-20s. This was separately confirmed by both my vet and dentist.

As soon as the horse walked off the trailer, it was obvious there was a problem with the teeth - hay quids, trouble eating grain. The horse is so old that the teeth are worn down, so no - the horse did not need the teeth floated because there is nothing there to float! If they were honest, a real approximation would have been somewhere in the 20s. An approximate age is not 10+ years off.

And shame on their vet for aiding in this. I have spent hundreds of dollars so far trying to get weight on this horse. Not only that, but the horse cannot eat hay. So special chopped hay is needed, in addition to senior grain, beet pulp, a nutrient supplement, and lots of extra fat.

It's going to take months to rehabilitate this poorly conditioned horse. I wouldn't have paid more than a few hundred dollars for this horse in a condition this bad. That is probably what they paid the Amish. Then they turn around and sell this horse for thousands!

You have to ask yourself if the Amish are done using this horse, it's for a good reason. They've sucked all the life out of the horse then traded it in for a newer model. There is no way I'm the first person to have this experience with these people. I didn't contact them about the issue.

What are they going to do? Argue with me? Continue to lie and scam? So no, I saved myself the headache and saved this horse from a prior life of neglect.

I will never do business with these deceitful people nor recommend any of my friends to do so either.

The horse world really isn't that big of a place, and I'll make it my life's mission to show this community the truth behind this operation. How do you sleep at night, Nicole?

User's recommendation: STAY AWAY! There are plenty of other places to buy a horse

The horse I chose looked in good health and just Tad underweight but not bad. I enlarged views of his legs and no sign of swelling or injury.

The add stated passed his vet exam so I bought him. When money was sent and plan in place for shipping she advised me he had developed an abscess in his coronet band. Wasn't happy to hear that after money changed hands but figured I'd just deal with it. When he arrived he was ATT least 800 lbs under weight for a draft horse.

The abscess was so bad when pressure was applied to his cannon bone green puss shot out and his leg was swollen up to his knee and covered in maggots. Now I have to pray my vet and I with the help of my farm owner can help him overcome this infection and get him healthy again my heart was broken pics are add photos and last 3 are him after arriving

User's recommendation: Do not do business with them they are horrible people

I’ve been watching her horses she’s selling looking for just the right one. Which one did you purchase?

She called him spike. His sale photos and video he looked just a tad under weight.

When he arrived my vet scored him a 2 Severely underweight. Wasn't told about the abscess until I paid for him. She said she was soaking it but when he came green puss was oozing out and there were maggots all over the leg.

Do not trust her. She has an 87% negative reviews.

BEWARE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Horse not as described: underweight, arthritis, bad teeth, broken hock, trailer anxious, green.
  • - Seller defensive and accused us of lying.

Bought a gelding from her that was nothing as described. Was severely under weight, advanced arthritis, horrible teeth, a previously broken and improperly healed hock, horrible for the ferrier, trailer anxious, and green as can be.

He himself is an absolute sweetheart and none of the above listed is of his own fault. When I reported these findings back to her she was immediately defensive and tried to fight with me on it, insinuating I and my vets were lying about his condition. Save yourself the time, money and heartbreak and go somewhere else.

Want to actually rescue a draft? Just go to the auction yourself.

User's recommendation: Do not buy from her. Rescue yourself from an auction instead of paying a deceitful middleman.

I too experienced the same exact response when I confronted her. She is a horrible person and should not even be in business. At least my boy will have a better life now.

Nicole is knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She showed me that he had a vet exam done and is up to date on everything. Nicole helped me set up transportation for him and he got delivered exactly as described. My entire family rides him and he is a big gentle giant for sure.

My vet has seen him already and really likes him as well. I highly recommend her if youre looking for a horse

The exact same thing is happening to me! It is beyond maddening as I live 30 minutes away and am ready to buy - she doesn’t seem to want to show the horse before she sells it!

I have had the same experience as I live close by to Nicole. She says 99.9% of their horses sell sight unseen.

She is never available any time of day to show a horse.

After reading these reviews, I understand why. I will not be pursuing lining her pockets off taking advantage of poor horses at auction.

Never do business with this rescue, expensive and times 10 expensive to try to get your horse sound. She may NEVER be able to be ridden.

I have had a similar experience. My horse was older than dirt and I’m surprised that he didn’t die on the trip to our place.

He was supposed to be part Appaloosa, but his markings were white hairs that showed where is harness had left scars. Her vet “checked” him….and deemed him healthy. He had a body score of two.

A very difficult horse that even after 2 years of work, we never got a ride. They are not a rescue, they are a ripoff and turn horses over quickly.
