Never Again

Awful... They argued with me about what I ordered and paid for (ie, I paid for upgraded bathroom, they were building with standard bath.

I questioned, he argued I didn't pay for that - had to show him the contract, paid for larger water heater, found out they installed smaller size one). Year after we moved in there was leak in toilets. Handyman said they put the toilets in wrong (without protective ring)? year later the ceiling was leaking.

Found out they never vented out the fan and pipes from the bathroom. Siding fell off after 2 years, had to have it replaced.

Nickel and dimed us for everything.

Homewood Builder gives many promises that are not carried through.

When we decided to build with Homewood we told them we had to give our apartment a 45 day notice. We signed in September and were told we could close in March or April.

March came and we tried to get a closer date but they refused to answer many of our calls. Finally in May they said guaranteed we could close end of May. End of May came and that date was changed to June 7. Homewood called to schedule closing, before we even had a walk through.

The sales person who sold us the house said we could not wait to close end of June, even though we still had to pay June rent. We had the walk through two days before closing. The night before the closing we went to check on changes, they were not done. I contacted their closing office everyday before closing to try and get the amount we needed for the cashiers check and who to make check out to.

They did not get back to me til 5pm day before closing. I had to have the check rewritten. The next day at closing we were notified we needed more documents to go back to our bank. So Frustrating!!!! At the closing our realtor asked the VP Mark Vouis to come in and address the items that were not completed.

He never spoke to us, even though we were in the same room, but told our realtor items would be complete that day. They were not. We went to the house after closing to see everything. The basement was flooded and lower level carpet was soaked.

We called our realtor and he called the VP who said he would get right on it and that we would be compensated for the inconvenience. Not only were we not compensated, it took 4 weeks to clean up and fix the mess.

We were given our occupancy permit when the plumbing never passed inspection. Homewood fails on customer service.
