Stay away from HomeGuard Inc. POOR SERVICE!!

My review is long overdue. Like everyone else purchasing their first home, I wanted everything to go as smoothly and problem-free as possible. If you deal with HomeGuard, you will absolutely get the opposite!! During my escrow closing, they added expenses and bogus supplemental reports and I had to pay an additional $1000 out of my own pocket!!!! And because I didn't want to lose my house during closing, I waited until after I got the house to plead my case regarding the discrepancy in the costs.

HEADS UP.. DO NOT DEAL with Thuy Quach. Her miscommunication with me is the reason that I was charged. She reassured me over telephone and email that I would not be charged out of pocket for what the bank was supposed to pay for. She mishandled my account and surprised me with added expenses. And in the end, she denied EVERYTHING and had her corrupt managers back her up. Thankfully I had my realtor work diligently with me and support me through out all of this. But since the VP of HomeGuard doesn't believe in quality customer service, all he returned to me was $200.

$200 was a slap in the face.. I truly didn't expect to get the door shut and not heard, especially since I shouldn't have been accountable for those expenses! Oh, and did I mention that the repairs they did in September weren't done properly and completely??!! They had to come back in December to re-do the work!! Thank Goodness my realtor caught the poor job for me!

Ultimately if you deal with HomeGuard for your home needs, it will become an issue of poor customer service, consumers who are unhappy with the unfair work/repairs/services, and extremely poor morals and ethics from their management. I urge all homeowners, realtors, and those in the market for a home to stay clear of HomeGuard services!!! It's not worth it!!!

This is an updated review to my initial review above dated on July 9, 2012. Please read:

Yes, I am now a fan.. ; )

Talk about a great response time..!!! I wrote this review on July 9th, and received a message reply from one of HomeGuard's managers, Christine G. on July 17.

After calling Christine back I felt a GREAT sense of relief. She explained that she manages online reviews to ensure quality services, so she was very concerned about my poor experience with HomeGuard. Christine offered to come up with some resolutions with me. She listened compassionately to my story that dated back to September 2011 and she reiterated to me that their company takes quality customer service very seriously. I really felt that Christine was being extremely sincere and genuine, and she was trying to be a positive representative of HomeGuard. Our conversation wasn't too long or torturous by me repeating a tough experience over and over. Neither did I have to plead my case as I did in the past with the VP. She basically heard me out, reviewed my file, and went to speak to the President. Within 4 days of our conversation, I received a full refund check in the mail of what I paid HomeGuard during my escrow close for my first home!!!! I am extremely happy and completely satisfied with this solution that HomeGuard offered. More than anything, I am grateful for Christine who truly understood my situation and provided me with closure to this whole ordeal!

As a heads up to any small business owner or big corporation manager... we all tend to depend firmly on these online review sites because it is written by the most credible sources and consumers... YOU AND ME!! So I believe it's important for these owners & managers to read up on these reviews and offer solutions or compensations to any customers who have had any negative experience with their company. Trust me, there really is a lasting impression for what Christine did for me on behalf of HomeGuard, and it will truly go a long way!!! = )
