Verified Reviewer | Regina, SaskatchewanNot made clear that this was a timeshare that I was being charged for
We were travelling in our car home from a funeral in Austin, TX. We had trouble making a reservation for Lincoln NB for the evening.
We finally made contact with someone who made the reservation and then transfered to another person so we could get additional points. It was never made clear that this was a timeshare option. We were charged $279 for the opportunity to visit when of your sites. Once we arrived home and were able to review the documents we decided to cancel the Berkshire option.
WE DO NOT want to do a timeshare. I called customer service and spoke to Eric, very nice and was transferred to Brandi Cummingham, she advised I had to cancel in write to guestrealtions@***.com, which I did. The email bounced THREE times as not able to deliver because of wrong email address, I also copied Brandi. I have checked again today and no messages from any one including in spam.
I would like this matter resolved TODAY!
Please refund the $279. If I do NOT hear back I will be reporting you to BBB in Florida and Massachusetts as well as to the companies who have given you awards.

Verified Reviewer | Regina, SaskatchewanUnable to cancel the charge to cc. No contact that does not bounce back to me as undeliverable
Driving home from a funeral in Austin TX, was trying to make a reservation at at Holiday Inn which we finally were able to, then transfered to another person to get additional points. IT WAS NEVER MADE CLEAR THAT IS WAS A TIMESHARE OFFER.
On arriving home and reviewing documents we want to cancel $279 charge to credit card. I attempted to send a message 3 times to customer relations and it bounce back each time. No way to contact them without bouncing around!
I want the charge removed from my credit card or I will notify BBB in Florida and Massachusetts. As well as to all the awards they have gotten.

Staying at Holiday Inn Resort Orange Lake.
Were in River island pool view. Reserved a month in River Island POOLVIEW.
I was assigned the 6 th. Floor pool view suite. There is NO poolview on 6th floor. There is a solid 4 ft wall supporting an outside canopy.
If I sit at my porch table my eye view is the solid wall or look up and you see the sky. NO POOLVIEW.
My suggestion is attach a bar counter and pub chairs to see over the solid wall. Ive contacted maintenance to bring up pub chairs.
Told not available.
But they are available in the trade winds restaurant their are pub tables and chairs. Been here 5 days with NO addressing my concerns
Preferred solution: I would like River Island to address this issue and construct a way to have POOLVIEW from 6th floor
User's recommendation: Do not stay on 6th floor River Island

My wife and I checked into the Orange Lake resort on Feb 13th. When I made the reservation, I told the customer service person that I am a 100% disabled vet and cant walk very long distances and that my wife has a rod in her leg from cancer surgery.
When we checked in, we were given a room that was the farthest distance from the elevator. When we discovered the distance from the elevator, we complained and were moved to a room closer to the elevator, but it look almost two hours to resolve. The next morning, we were awakened by children screaming and jumping off of furniture before 6 AM. I tried to call the front desk, but got no answer.
The next morning, the same thing happened. Yelling and screaming before 6 AM. This time they were also bouncing a hard rubber ball on the floor above us. I tried calling the front desk again.
Again no answer. On the 16th of Feb, again loud screaming and jumping over our heads, so I called again and finally someone answered. Security was sent to the room above us. It was quiet for a short period of time, but within 15 minutes, the yelling and jumping returned.
I was discharged from the hospital on 13 Feb with kidney problems and had considered canceling my reservation, but decided to go to Orange Lake for rest.
I didnt get much rest because I was woke up everyday by children who were out of control. Customer service tried to push my complaint off on to Security, but they wouldnt answer the phone!

They do nothing but lie about what they sell.
We went to Gatlinburg for a free weekend to listen to their sales meeting. We were promised so much value and ease of use.
We could use our points to stay anywhere we wanted. The cost was too high so we told them no and of course, they came back with fewer points for less money. We were promised the Maintenance Fee would never go up and would never be $1000. The fee goes up every year and is now almost $1300.
They said if we decided it was for us we could just give it back and that this package was one somebody had given back. We struggled to book any location with our points and it was nearly impossible. We went to Branson and agreed to sit through another sales meeting. They immediately started telling us we needed more points if we wanted to book rooms like we were shown and during the time we wanted.
The sales reps in Branson even told us we were lied to and they do that just to sell, so we got up and walked out of the meeting.
I have called several times to dispute how we were treated and lied to just to be met with "deal with it". This place is a scam!
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs!
The sales consultants practice deceptive trade.
After we purchased the timeshare in March 2018, we attempted to use it as we were told by the Holiday Inn Club Vacations(HICV) sales consultant. However, we could not use the number of points we had purchased to accommodate the plans that we had for travel .
We had informed the sales consultant that we planned to travel to Greece. He told us we were purchasing enough points to do that. The points were not nearly enough. They attempted to sell us more points.
In addition, the property owners association was billing us annual maintenance fees in excess of $1000.
After paying the mortgage for several years and being denied the privilege to use our timeshare as we had planned, we consulted several attorneys to find out what our options were for release from this obligation. Our attorney informed us that we would need to sue HICV for deceptive trade practices.
We were also informed that filing a lawsuit would not guarantee our release from the mortgage. It was recommended that we stop paying the mortgage until there can be a classaction court settlement for fraud, unjust enrichment, breach of contract, predatory lending practices, and/or violation of the Florida Timesharing Act against HIVC.
Preferred solution: I want to return the timeshare without paying the mortgage or the annual and delinquent charges for maintenance and interests.
User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY!
What I was sold has not been what I got
I have had nothing but issues with Holiday Inn since I signed. They use instance pressure to push you into a purchase and then constantly want you back to sell more and build more debt!
This place is a scam. So many lies are told and none of them have become a reality.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Stay away
Nothing is like we were told
We attended the sales meeting for the free weekend stay we were offered. We were shown a package with 200,000 points and shown a book full of locations with their perspective point cost to visit.
We were shown and told this amount of points would get us 5 weeks of vacation per year. Once we had the paperwork signed and done, we returned home to find out the point values were not as we were shown. Locations that showed 40k points for a stay were well over 100,000 points or more. We asked for the books that showed the point cost we were shown in the meeting and they were supposed to be mailed to us.
That has not been the case. We were scammed into purchasing a lie!
User's recommendation: Don't fall for the lies
