Bad business

I went to the counter and they rang me up for $21.13 which I paid for and had the the proof of transaction on my bank account. They then took my products from me and said I could not have them because they couldnt print my receipt.

They then tell well you can pay for it again and dispute the other charge because thats their store policy because it may not charge me. Didnt get my stuff or my money. This place is trash.

They told me this happens all the time and I have to come back and tell them and they will look into then. WTF!!!

HobbyTown - Horrible customer service

12108 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249 Is the store I visited today, this location is being ran into the ground by the current employees, the middle aged man that was behind the counter grabbing parts for me wouldnt acknowledge me or anyone else standing there, and when I did ask for help he just stared at me with out saying a word, threw my parts on the counter and sat back down and continued his YouTube videos, this is a big store for all of the locals and the only one and I hate to see everyone having to use online stores over supporting a local businiess, after looking at the google reviews 90% of the customers are dealing with the same guy and getting the same problems I had, I also listened to him argue with another customer about parts and saying if the top 5% of rc racers arent doing it then he doesnt need to be doing it. This is terrible and needs to be taken care of as i and many others would love to go back and deal with better customer service that is actually willing to help us. Need my *** sucked beast style fr

I was greeted instantly. I was presented with the NASCAR #38 truck body for my 1st generation Arrma infraction.

My Hobby Town representative instantly changed my body mounts to conform to the NASCAR body. I bought 4 new Hoons factory tires and a new front splitter. Really happy with the service. I have about $13,000 invested in R/C Boats & Trucks since 2016.

Ready for new Miss GEICO trailer build. ( I have already built 1 triple axle trailer with Infraction "HOONS" tires.

I have enough tires to build new trailer. Willing to provide current trailer as "Blueprint for next trailer.

Ive got a whole lot of screen shots of people like me dissatisfied with the customer service and the owner rudely telling us that were wrong or that were hiding behind the screen to make these negative comments. If she wants me to be in her face Ill make sure everyone sees how horrible she is. Just utter stupidity.

They cheat. They do not respect the client and are not interested in buyers. Poor management. they did not return $ 300. That is, the reputation of the company is not of interest to the owners.

HobbyTown - They cheat. They do not respect the client and are not interested in buyers....

Our son-in-law gave my husband a car for $ 300 - we were not interested in this gift and after 2 weeks we wanted to return it to the store. The seller accused us of opening the box.

I'm sorry, but how else could we understand what our son-in-law gave us? The seller's arguments were not convincing.

Online ordering problem

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I tried to order an out of stock vehicle on the website with the pre pay option. The vehicle is a gift so shipping address is different.

After processing through PayPal when returning to hobby town site i noticed the shipping address and billing address are the same and no option to change it to the correct billing address. Is this a common problem? Ive never had a problem ordering online like this before.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

They yell at customers across the lobby about wearing masks and won't allow shopping without them. This didn't even start until after mask mandates were lifted!

When emailed about the situation the "apology" was not an apology. Nice associates in the store but management has caved to mass media induced fear mongering.

Wanted to get into r/c planes, so we traveled 2 hours (4 hour round trip) to Green Bay's hobby town. Checked out the beginner planes and asked a lot of questions, and the employee was very helpful.

Decided to buy the Timber plane which is a bind-n-f!y plane, so had to buy the controller, battery and charger. Bought the Spectrum dxe controller, went home and set it up. After doing so, binded the controller to the p!ane easi!y, everything worked except the flaps would not retract, staying in the down position. After some research, found out I now have buy some kind of cable and do a firmware update.

This is ridiqulous. I should have informed about this. Spent over $400.00 on this package and still have not flown it.

Seriously thinking about returning everything . Not happy.

HobbyTown - Cashier Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On 4/3/17 I went to hobby town in Chattanooga to see if they had any new Hotwheels. Well it as I entered the store their was a guy at the main counter a few feet from the cash register going tru a case of new Hotwheels.

I asked him if I could look at some and he said no and that Josh the employee behind the counter was going to want some, employee josh did hear this.

I'm thinking a employee buys before the customer and Hobby town lets this happen. I will never go to Hobby Town again

HobbyTown Don't back up their word

On August 18, I went to HobbyTown in Lewisville TX to purchase my 13 year old n R/C truck for his Birthday. The employee that helped us out was Brandon. He sounded very knowledgeable and by the end of our conversation, I actually bought two (2) Traxxas Slash RC trucks, one for each of my kids. One was $259.00 and one was $249.00 along with two extra batteries ($49 each) and an upgraded charger ($59). A couple of days later, I had to take one of them back because the plastic gear had a flat spot on it. No big deal, again Brandon was very helpful and sold me a $5 gear. At that moment, I talked to him about what could I do to make the car a little faster. He recommended that I upgrade the motor and speed control to the Castle brand which was $119. He told me that would really make the car faster even without upgrading anything else, including the battery. After speaking with him a bit further, I trusted his word and purchased the $119 kit. I installed it that day. It would not program correctly because the remote was programed in reverse. Once again I headed back up there, Brandon was not there but the other staff called Castle on the phone because they did not know how to change it. After about 20 min. they had it working.

Alright, so now I have my kids outside and told them I wanted to see them race, I wanted to see how much faster it was. Well, funny to say that the stock slash actually took off faster and held the lead over the upgraded Castle one every time they raced. At that point I turned to the manual and made sure it was programed correctly. Still no change. Once again I head back up there to see if they knew anything that was wrong and Brandon was confused, he said something must be wrong. We even raced them out in the parking lot so they could see. They then put in a stronger battery (2 Cell LiPO), still no difference. Next, they put in an even stronger batter (3 Cell LiPO), that actually made a difference; however after calling the manufacture, they said not to use that battery because it would burn up the speed control. Glad I did not buy that $60 battery like Brandon wanted to sell me. Castle told me that motor and speed control would not give me any speed, it would still run the same as the slash stock motor, the only difference was that it was brushless and was a little more reliable.

I only bought that motor because Brandon assured me that I would get a lot of speed out of it without upgrading anything else. If he would have told me that it would not gain speed, just a better motor, I would not have spent $119 for it. Now fast forward to right now. I called Brandon and asked him if I could return the motor and speed control and get in store credit since it did not do what he told me it would do. I would rather use that money to buy my 3rd car from them. He said he would have to talk to his Manager Adam and get back with me.

He called me back and said they would buy back the motor, but at a cheaper price and I would have to pay a restocking fee. I asked Brandon, why I would have to pay a restocking fee if you were the one that informed it would gain speed if I bought it knowing that I would not have made that purchase if he would have been honest with me. O.K., I should be fare and not say honest, he could have truly not known how they work but then should have told me he was not sure if it would gain speed and check on it for me, but he did not. He gave me 100% without a doubt answer that it would. When I told him that, his only response was “yes, you still have to pay a restocking fee”, and said he was sorry.

Bottom line, I have spent well over $800 with them in the past week and a half, and was about to make another $400 + for my R/C. They informed me incorrectly on making a purchase and when proven that they were wrong, Adam and Brandon do not want to make it right. How can you sell something to someone telling them that it will do something, then when it does not, just say sorry and charge them a re-stocking fee etc… what a slap in the face. Even after telling Brandon that I was not looking for anything FREE, I am not that type of person, I just wanted them to make it right, and all he said was “Sorry”.

Well HobbyTown, if your policy is to be dishonest to your customers and when they call you out on it, just say sorry and keep their money and charge them more to make it right, then I will do my best to make sure anyone I come in contact with knows this story. I am sure you don’t care (clearly shows), I will do my business with a company that actually cares about their customers.

I have worked and owned a Hobby store. I would have never sold those upgrades to you without talking to you more about what your long term intentions were in the hobby.

Nothing turns a potential long term customer in to a very short term customer faster than over selling to them. if your sons are jumping from a toy grade cars i.e.:walmarts and target products to hobby grade products than do it incrementally and education with every sale.

I could go on and on with specifics. i always had father son customers who overspent and soured very early on because they were oversold at other stores but also because 6 months down the line the kids switched interest from rc car, planes or whatever to maybe school sport's.

sorry
