Worst experience ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They promised equal playing time for all players. Fall league was supposed to be all about development.

My son sat out entire games, even when he was the only sub. I was told that players learn a lot on the bench so I shouldn't complain. They also said it was difficult for the coach to sub players. That is a pathetic excuse, especially with one player on the bench.

Shawn dismissed me as being a complainer and said if I didn't complain about this it would be my sons position.

Funny- that is not true since the few opportunities my son played he was put at 1st base- a position he never plays in his league. I was treated so rudely I would urge people to avoid HitDawg at all costs.

Hit Dawg Academy Baseball Program Review from Saint Paul, Minnesota

i would not waste a penny on this facility. it is very poorly run operation that gives false hope for the kids.

The coaches are unprofessional to say the least, without any desire to be at the tournaments or coach h. The owner Shawn Wooten, unavialble, rarely there and not invested in the coaching department.

He leaves his innexperienced wife to run the program and is worried only about the money coming in bottom line. Save your money parents your better off coaching your own kids then paying a astronomical amount for worthless opinions it false advertising at its best!!!!!!

I am very sorry you were not happy with our baseball program, and am sorry to hear that you feel Hit Dawg gives false hope to the athletes. We are very up front about our goals and that players will get out of the program as much as they put it.

Our coaches are invested, and want to see players improve. They do require that players work hard during every practice, and that they truly want to be there. We do guarantee that a player's skills will improve if they come to practice, and put the work in, or we will give your money back. The players in our program who have put the work in, and who have wanted to go on to play college baseball have done so, and our coaches have helped them along the way.

I am normally at our facility much more, but the past couple of years have been more difficult because our son has had some very serious medical issues. I am still very much a part of the academy and work closely with the coaches on practice plans and much more.

I would definitely be happy to talk with you more, or help address your concerns with your dissatisfaction if you are willing to contact us directly so we know who you are. We are honest people and do stand behind our word.

A ridiculous review that couldn't be more off base. Hit Dawg is an excellent baseball academy that concentrates on making kids better rather than cashing checks and renting space like Pitch 2 Pitch...

Hit Dawgs Baseball Academy Chanhassen is a Scam

Hit Dawgs proports to run a baseball academy for all levels of junior high and high school players but really runs a glorified batting cage with Summer and Fall teams mixed with 18 yr old seniors and 15 yr old freshmen. Fall ball looks like a low-end pick-up game and there's rarely more than 1 Hit Dawg coach at the games.

Not to mention each team rarely has 9 players to complete a doubleheader. Marissa is a sweetheart but Shawn Wooten thinks he's running a minor league team but he forgot that parents are paying several hundreds and even thousands for nothing more than a t-shirt and a hat.

Shave your cheesy facial hair and get over yourself! You have no chance of making it if you think you don't need customers.

I completely disagree with a person who would post such damaging info. I coached a 12aaa team last year and was extremely happy with the facility, instruction and owners of this facility.

It says below that personal attacks will be deleted.

HitDawg has highly qualified coaches who love the game of baseball. We live too far away for Fall League & yes football & hockey take precedence at that time of year.

But with just 3-4 one-on-one sessions w/ a highly motivated player & a no nonsense coach, our young man greatly improved his mechanics in his swing. Not only that but he just seemed to enjoy the game so much more. improved his whole approach to the plate - in added confidence, seeing the ball batter & increased batting average. Instead of fear, he looked forward to pressure situations knowing he was as good as anyone to get a hit & give his TEAM a chance.

Just wish we lived closer to Chanhassen.

I thank the Wooten's for giving back (Shawn's got a World Series Ring) to our Minnesota communities by bringing quality instruction to a game many of us love.

We know exactly who wrote this post, so no need to do so anonymously if you wish to write future complaints. It's unfortunate when people who don't get their way need to stoop to such a low level.

Throwing temper tantrums will not lead to a good outcome...we all learned that as young children. It's also unfortunate when people use slander, which is a serious offense. Shawn teaches respect, honesty, and how to play the game the correct way. He does run our program like a minor league team would run practices, etc.

because he wants players to play past high school at the higher levels.

We are honest people and wish the best to every player whether in our program or not.

Sincerely, Marissa Wooten

It's no scam, it's for real.

Yes, the fall ball fell short of expectations, but for all it's faults it was the best "Fall Ball" my son has played in. Since some players were off to hockey, Football, or whatever practice, sometimes leaving the teams short players.

Shawn's position training is great. Whoever posted the "scam" review, doesn't get the big picture.

I could not disagree more with this statement. I did not love the fall league, but it was the first year trying a fall league. It was still far better than the fall league we could have been in since all the boys were good ball players. I saw improvement in the level of play throughout the season.

The real point of Hit Dawg is the academy itself. It teaches the boys far more details than they would receive in the average league. My kids love it and have improved greatly.

Shawn is wonderful. My boys (ages 9 and 12) think he is great! I have sat at every practice and have been so impressed with the way he builds their confidence. He never yells. He just teaches and encourages. They think he is awesome. We have been very impressed with the Hit Dawg Academy.
