A terrible experience with customer service people who did not listen to me

HireAHelper - A terrible experience with customer service people who did not listen to me

First of all. I will never use HireAHelper again.

The local moving company was very good. But the communication between the movers, me and HireAHelper was not at all professional. HireAHelper had me reach out to the movers directly, who told me I was going to have three movers. Luckily, I had a friend on the other end, who was there for the move because I couldnt be there.

Instead, I got two movers! What shouldve taken three hours took 4.5. (After three hours they charge almost $300 a hour.) The move cost me over $325 an hour. They were moving things from a 20x10 storage unit into a 15x8 POD.

So it was a simple move, though it had to be packed well for long-distance. And it was done well. That was not the issue. The issue was that the mover was not told before they spoke to me how many movers there would be and the owner said he would have three there.

So the whole thing was misleading. What I was expecting to take three hours took 4.25, which it wouldve if theyd had three movers. After explaining everything to two different customer service representatives, they were not willing to do anything to compensate for the complete mixup. They kept telling me that I hired two movers.

Thats what the paperwork said after all. But that is not what I was told. And then asked to speak to a manager, and the representative told me he was completely capable of handling it. I said I would not release the payment to the movers until I spoke to a manager.

I just got an email confirmation that my payment has been processed without having spoken to a manager. Bad business. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Dont use Hire-a-Helper.

Trust me.

Reach out to your local movers in the area but dont ever use them. Angry
