Password Reset Key Destroyed Two Computers

We purchased a Password Reset Key from this company through Ebay. We had two older HP computers both running Windows 10 that we wanted to use again. The first one worked perfectly except nobody could remember the Administrator password so we could not update it. The second one was older and we did not know any passwords but the Windows 10 login screen came up just fine. We tried the Password Reset Key on the first one and tried to follow the instructions but this did not end well. We were able to access the boot menu just fine but the instructions were not that clear and at the end of the session we had a computer that was totally destroyed. Now when you turn it on, all you see is a box that pops up asking for either the administrator password or the user password. We know the user password but it has 10 characters and this box only accepts 8 characters. Now It is impossible get to the boot menu or the Windows screen. So we started with a computer that was working perfectly but we do not know the administrator password and ended up with one that will not do anything. The older computer had a slightly different boot menu but the instructions that came with the password reset key were just as obscure. After trying to follow these, we ended up with a computer that again is ruined. A whole bunch of nonsense text comes up when we turn it on now. We are unable to access the boot menu or the Windows 10 login screen. We contacted Hillstar Consumer Group and they offered us our money back for the key. How does this begin to compensate us for the fact that their product ruined two computers? They have no idea how to fix the mess either. One would think they should have had a reset button programmed into their device so if something goes wrong, the consumer could undo damage.. Why did we attempt to fix both computers after one of them was obviously destroyed? Lack of communication. Two different people tried to fix the two different computers before talking to each other.
