I returned a Morganite on 4/22 trough UPS. I still have the return slip for their pick up. Why is my Helzburg bill over 2000 dollars? The ring was about 1400.00. Now I'm getting the run around to call different places?

Make Sure You Are Aware Of Store Policies & Warranties

October 20.2019 I dropped my wedding ring and band off at Helzburg at Carolina Place for repairs. I was told that it would be ready for pick up around November 5.2019 ring still wasn’t ready for pick . To make a long story short December 17.2019 is here still no ring . I have a lifetime warranty but have yet to be offer a replacement was told I would have to wait to ring was back in their hands before anything could be done. Very unhappy if I didn’t Have a picture of my phone I have almost forgotten what it looks like.

It was time to upgrade the engagement ring. A daunting task given our target area was the Twin Cities and Prague. In it for a month we hit the malls. It was in Rosedale that we struck gold (pun intended). Chanda & Mindy were determined to pull out all the stops until we got the stone of the wife's dreams. They were as personable as they were dogged. We purchased a very expensive Marquise over the reassuring tones of Mindy and Chanda. If you are stuck finding the gem you want OR you wish to get it right the first time then go see Chanda and Mindy.

Poor Jewelry Quality

In March 2019, I purchased a Diamond Ring and 3 Bracelets. By July 2019, 1 of the bracelets had to be repaired because of the clasp, and a Diamond just fell out the ring.

As the ring was being repaired, more diamonds fell out and a new ring has been ordered, I've been without my ring for a month now. Long story short, I'm paying for a ring I can't wear, the bracelet clasp that was repaired wasn't repaired and is now lost.

Once I pay the balance of my credit off, I will never buy any jewelry from this company again. The quality is low standard at best.

Poor customer service! Purchased a necklace and it was defective.

When the necklace was brought back to Helzberg, they simply ignored me telling them about the sharp edges that you could feel as you run your fingers up and down the necklace. I spent about a hundred dollars in repairs and when I requested the assistance from the higher ups if you will. They asked how could they make it right? When I said refund me the repairs, well they made excuses about the timing and the wear and tear.

The necklace was less than 6 months. I will not shop with them again!

The bracelet loss was $229, not sure what to expect of the ring whenever or if I ever get it back. I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism with poor quality before in my life.

Helzberg Diamonds - Scamed

In April i bought my fiancee an engament ring from Helzberg. Its 14k white gold diamonds and blue sapphires.

It after taxes was $3064.00 i lost my job do to layoffs and she was out of work for a period. I didnt wanna sell her ring, but shes very modest and practical. Upon trying to see how much id be able to possibly get for the ring. I was devastated to learn my ring only has a value off 250 dollars.

I wanted to cry or punch sonething. I was shown many rings which were biggee more vibrant for far far less than what i paid.

And thats not even including the $189.00 insurance. This should be illegal.

It looks like the diamond are tiny, diamonds under a carat do not carry value. Sapphire is also inexpensive, 14k gold, not much there. Overall you bought the look and craftsmanship, there is not much true valuable material there.

What should be illegal is the purchase of diamonds by uninformed individuals. That would prevent the scenario you have described.

Who pays 10x the actual value for things like that ? And who offered you $250 ? Unhappily, 14kt white gold is the bottom of the jewelry barrel, as are sapphires and diamond chips. Always remember : Diamonds are not rare, they are simply highly priced.

Now undetectable synthetics are being produced.I say keep the ring, value it as a symbol of your relationship, and don't worry about the price - you'll only do this once, hopefully - sorry you have money problems (but those can be aggravated by spending $3k+ on jewelry).

P.S. - I spent years as a professional coin and jewelry dealer ...

any store dealing with preowned jewelry is going to offer you "market value". that is they will offer you at most a value for scrap gold and then a value for the diamonds based on market WHOLESALE prices.Pawn shops if you are PAWING the jewelry, that is taking a loan out aginst the item as collateral, is going to offer far less.

a Pawn shop makes its money buy you paying them INTEREST on the loan, should you fail to pay within the time frame (1 to 6 months depending on the place) they own the item.

they will then attempt to sell it for what ever they can.Unless you are spending very large sums of money (think millions my dears) jewelery is not a short term investment, it is a LONG term investment. Also if you are buying as an investment you should never be buying from a RETAIL location regardless of chain or mom and pop.Yes it sucks but these are the facts.If i spend $10000 at xyz store i can not expect to be able to walk into abc pawn shop and get $10000 for it, i would be lucky to be offered $1000

Pawn shops or jewelry stores never give you what you paid. I pawned my 18k gold and diamond Tiffany locket that I paid over 1,000 for.

I got 75 dollars. It doesn't mean the ring is not valuable; those shops just prey on the desperate.

Everyone knows that when you either try to return or outright sell a piece of jewelry, you won’t get anywhere close to what you paid.

This is not a Helzberg issue, it’s a life learning issue.

BTW, I’m not a jeweler, nor do I work for or have ever purchased anything from the company. No dog in this fight.

Obviously you're not a jeweler, nor are you very educated. As far as precious metals go, do you understand spot price or how about solid gold versus clad in gold, and diamond ratings clarity, carbon cracks, all kinds of knowledge needed when buying precious minerals etc., But you don't need to be a rocket scientist either.

The knowledge needed to buy an engagement ring can be done online in about 15 minutes so you at least know what questions to ask and what to look for. You stated that the unhappy buyer should know that if you buy jewelery, you are going to take a hit in your wallet if you need to sell it.....that is so inaccurate and misleading and pretty much ignorant.

Why respond to a person's problem if you are no help what so ever, you can't be that bored in life?So, as far as buying and selling jewelery is like selling a used car, you are so WRONG. I'm not a jeweler, but I am a well informed electrician lol.

I thought because it has a long history of being a family business that is all over different states it would be a great place to do business. The information I was told was very dishonest.

I could buy any ring and at any time trade it in for 100% value of the purchase as long as the new purchase was twice the amount. The ring I purchased was never worn but when the time came for me to make the purchase the story than changed. I was told read the fine print. They only do that with solitaire or loose diamonds.

I purchased a nice ring at the time because I was ready to ask the lady I love to marry me. It wasn’t the size I wanted but because of what I was told I figure cool I can upgrade no problem. I was truly disappointed and the customer service representative was so apologetic 101 with so many excuses. I think the most insulting experience is when the store manager at Tyson VA told me I should sale it on eBay that was a slap in the face.

It goes to show there not about quality. I would not buy a dog bowl from them. Yes I’m angry but as a customer spending several thousand of dollars who wants to deal with dishonesty. I’m going to make sure my friends and family on social media know not to do business with Helzberg because I never want anyone to experience what I have.

Jewelry is an investment Helzberg is not the place to invest. Let there words be shown on paper.

The matter was not resolved they ask if they could assist me with my next purchase. I told them to go to *** I paid $4,000.00 was willing to upgrade at $8,000.00 smh

very disappointed. Ordered a watch on line during holiday sale for my brothers 50th b-day. Watch arrived quickly only to receive a watch that was not working. Customer service was friendly but notified me it came from an outlet store on line so it could only be take to an outlet store, for hopefully just a new battery but the onsite jeweler would be able to help. It took me a week before I could drive 30 mins to an outlet store where I was told by the jeweler he could not get it open (FYI it is a SEIKO not a safe). No one seemed to care so I had to return the defective watch and have no gift for my brother. Thanks for nothing Helzberg!

They have no customer service. My wife purchased a watch from them, a Christmas present for me, and never received the watch.

She called numerous times and the person she spoke to offered to replace the watch with one that wasn't running. She stated she would like to be refunded and she was told that she had to return her free gift she received before she could get a refund.

Which we did. Three months later, she still hasn't been reimbursed!

Have been a customer for many years, but today I'm reconsidering that thought moving forward, my wife made a visit to store#49 today to have her wedding ring cleaned, only to be harassed because she also ask if they would clean my wedding ring, comments were made that they never sold the ring, did your husband purchase the ring with helzberg? We never sold a 5 prong mens band all before they cared to review their own records. If this is what a paying customer has to experience to get a ring cleaned, then a new customer has no chance at receiving anything that resembles good customer service. Transaction# 134971.

Very bad experience with Halzberg after 20 years.

I've stopped at Halzberg for over twenty years. I've had a few issues but nothing like this one.

Seventeen years after i buy a ring that was a two toned ring yellow gold band, white gold on top of the ring. They replaced a diamond two times and sized and repaired this ring in the past.

When I got the ring back the last time it was being repaired (they were going to build the band up from where it had been worn down. Well i get it back and it's not the same ring. It was a white gold band instead of gold. The manager actually tried to tell me it was white gold all the time. As if i don't know my ring that i bought and have worn for 17 years. I am heartbroken over this. My husband tried to get it fixed and they told him the same thing. They rubbed it to try and get the gold back bc they spayed it with something. And they couldn't spend any more time on it. We get the ring back its still white gold and they're refuse to put the gold band back on it. Also one of the diamonds has a dark tent that wasn't touched.

I have a ring that i loved but now won't wear it. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME IN ANY HALZBERG DIAMOND STORES AGAIN.

I will take my jewelry in for cleanings only. Thay changed my band to white gold, i don't even know it they put a real diamond back in or not. They messed my ring up bad. They cheapened it so. My advise to anyone is this. Take pictures of what you send in for repairs bc you may not get back what you sent in. Take good pictures. Bc they will try to make you look like a fool.

VERY VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER AFTER OVER TWENTY YEARS. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I had a negative experience with Helzberg Diamonds on June 8 2018 . I purchase a @MovadoBold watch for $920.After I got home I seen that the watch gold polish was peeling or was chiped One of their reps and Managers attempted to help me and sent me to another location to get another watch. NOW the watch is not keeping time the second hand is working but the watch is not keeping time.The store Rep. Is telling me Now I have to send it off .WHY I have not had the watch a month Going through this kind of experience with Helzberg Diamonds is not one . I would not suggest shopping with Helzberg Diamonds. DONT shop with them!

I have to say my experience with Helzberg Diamons was the absolute worst i have ever encountered in customer service. I purchased an expensive movado watch from them and had them resize the watch right from the store to fit my wrist. After i left the store i kept the watch in the box and when I came home realized there were scratches all over the watch. I immediately called the store about an hour after I left and told them & they told to bring it in and they would take a look at it. As they were inspecting the watch they said they could not do anything about it and that they were not responsible for the scratches. This all happened in 1 day without me even wearing the watch which they blamed me for the scratches. This made absolutely no sense since I didnt even wear the watch yet. My guess is they must have scratched it while resizing the chains but did not want to take the blame. I hear a lot of similar stories from other people so I'm guessing Helzberg is running some sort of scam! Will definitely not purchase from them again!

I originally purchased a gold men’s wedding ring with a rope design. After two months the design which I didn’t realize snapped in fell off somewhere never to be found. Not knowing that when you take a faulty item back they pressure you to buy something else. The replacement ring isn’t worth $25 although I paid $400 for it. I will never buy or recommend anyone to purchase anything from them.

Was emailed a black Friday special bought my wife a diamond necklace and get a free flatscren after wife opened at Christmas she wanted a different piece.Called the store asked if we could return the necklace and free gift gift(flatscren tv)they said sure come down to the store which is 45 min each way from my home got to store they had nothing she wanted so I being a helzberg diamond perfered card holder said just return these items please, At that time the clerk opened the tv box to check the item was in box the manger came in from lunch and said sorry we cant return products bought offline .So at that time we contacted customer service they sent us fed x pickup tags they were sent back to helzberg and received by them they said 10 days for credit but sorry you have to keep the tv which is $250.00 even tho I didn't buy the necklace still after a month of helzberg having the tv and the necklace have not got a credit on my account for either and no tv returned to me called customer service 5 times in the last month nobody has fixed the issue
