Impossible to get help. They actually CHARGE for customer support!

Thermometer doesn't turn on. I tried many times to get it to work, but all in vain. The customer has to PAY for service! Don't waste your money on this worthless product or anything Helen of Troy sells.

User's recommendation: Don't buy anything from this coimpany; the product is unusable and you have to PAY for help!

Changes to PUR model RF-9999 ( "new look" = no "O" rings or filtering )

Update by user Oct 30, 2021

The manufacturer of PUR filters would not admit that the missing O ring and top gasket on the newer version filters resulted in a complete failure of it to function properly. I would like to mention that this problem was when using the original version filter body ( the one without a battery ).

Note: "forever chemicals" are in Great Lakes water and this type of filter will NOT remove them. The only type of filtration system that will remove those chemicals is reverse osmosis.

So when my stock of the original PUR filter replacements is gone I will switch to reverse osmosis. BEWARE

If you recently purchased the RF-9999 replacement filters, you will see an insert telling you that to save on waste. They have done away with the "O" ring and the small rubber gasket on the top of the filter. This change resulted in the water bypassing the filter entirely. We reached out to the manufacturer and their response was complete ignorance of this problem, they didn't seem to care at all.

User's recommendation: Switch to a reverse osmosis filtering system and do not purchase PUR or the fake knockoffs.
