My friends Rick and Trina Baker have lived and work in Green Cove Fl. A very long time.
They are a very giving couple and rarely ask for anything back, spending soo much time at a successful business and being active in their community has given them many many contacts and when if needed they reach out to all of them thanking them for the support needed to help their business to grow. It is rare to hear them complain but when they do it’s usually because they have been taken advantage of and the company or person involved continues to lie and will not complete the work that was in question. Understand they will reach out to the THOUSANDS of contacts and share with everyone the lack of accountability and showing up to get the money and not to show up to work, poor communication and not showing up for appointments that had already been rescheduled. If what they paid for is not provided or all the money invested returned then I would think they would do the same thing everyone else would do in a similar situation.
They might contact everyone that has done business with them and the many friends they have made to let them know the position that has been forced on them and would appreciate if they would share this information with all their friends. I have never herd of a business that doesn’t want more customers and their profit continues to drop.
Before all this is put in motion it would be a good idea to just do the work that has already been paid for, employees don’t like to be involved with a shady business and they may have already started looking for another job.

Nightmare Experience
Today- 8/9/19- I made a post earlier in the week about @heckardsdoor & how the owner Barry Heckard, has taken our money but not done any work. He was scheduled (by him) to come do part of the work on Saturday August 3rd.
Saturday came & went. After back & forth emails (never a phone call) & ridiculous excuses from him- I made my negative social media posts against Barry & @heckardsdoor. (See attached photo.) He reached out via email, repeatedly asking me to take them down & for me to give him the chance to “make it right.” I told him I would take them down when he came & did the work. He said he would personally do the work himself & rescheduled for this past Wednesday (the 7th) morning & said he would personally be at the house between 9-10am.
So (against my better judgement) I removed my Social Media posts. Rick (my husband) waited until 10:30 & of course, Barry never showed up. Rick calls him. He answers & says “I sent your wife emails early this morning saying that we are working on all of the wood for your project & then that he would be here WITH A CREW to complete the job on Friday.” Rick explained to him that we don’t check our emails every hour on the hour & that he should’ve called.
I checked my email. 9:26AM he sent me an email. In one of his emails- he even said “please don’t be angry.” So.... fast forward to today.
This morning came... & went. No Barry or crew. Rick called Barry (straight to VM,) I call Barry (Straight to VM)- we call the business numbers posted on IG.
No answer. We call the number on the @heckardsdoor website- No answer. I send Barry a “where are you?” Emails. Finally- at the same time- Rick & I get a text from good ole Barry- (I have screen shots of both texts) - he tells me at 1:20 that he’s in Utah for a family situation...
he answers Rick at 1:22 “In Montana.” SO.... 3 missed appointments later- LIE after LIE, excuse after excuse- here I sit, making this post. This is my first time in the history of Social Media, to post something negative like this about a company. I don’t EVER tell our personal business- but this guy is into us for almost 17K!!
We paid him the required deposit for a custom door that I designed, and our front columns wrapped in wood & a tongue & groove front porch ceiling on 4/3/19- & we have NOTHING to show for it. Please pass the word. Not more than 15 minutes after my social media posts today- Barry was blowing up my phone with more excuses. Funny thing is, he said in one text that he didn’t even know he was responding to Rick.
Considering the text says “Barry, this is Rick...” it’s hard to imagine he thought he was talking to me.
There’s so much more BS, but I will stop here.
We are in Green Cove Springs, Florida And we are PISSED OFF customers. Do NOT hire this business!
- Take your money and give you nothing for it
- Cancellation policy is terrible
- Company does not answer the phone

Heckard's Door Overcharged $300
Heckard's Door was commissioned to install a replacement mahogany entryway that I had had manufactured. The contract stated minimum $950 for six hours to a maximum of $1250 for 10 hours work by two installers.
The installers worked less than 5 hours, 40 minutes and I was charged the full rate of $1250. When I asked about the $300 overcharge, the customer service representative said that it was for her time. What she fails to understand is that her time is classified as "administrative overhead", which along with other overhead such as depreciation, is already rolled into the hourly rate unless otherwise specified in the contract. On top of that, I derived absolutely no benefit from her efforts and in fact found her more of a hindrance than help.
For instance she failed to give the installers the code enforcement approved installation instructions and the inspection failed as a result. I had to install an additional 17 anchor screws in order for the installation to pass inspection - many of which could have been installed in the remaining 20 minutes of work that I paid for but did not receive.
Bad enough that I had to pay for her time once in the overhead, I certainly do not want to pay twice. Their overall price was more than half again as much as a bid that I received from a fiberglass window and door installer that I trusted (he had done only eave work for me), but I chose Heckard's because mahogany door manufacturing and installation was their business.
