The dark haired lady at the registration window will lie to your face--i was a new patient there and she was going over the paper work and told me they have a new fee--its called "admin fee" its $25.00 it help covers their cost since insur. has cut back payments to them--what it covers is you can call and talk to a nurse or you can call in prescriptions and they don't charge you for calling them in-and a few very small benefits--i told her i do not need those services and didn't want to pay it--she said ok just write that on the bottom of your paper work that you do not want to pay for it and you will not be charged. Well a week later i get a bill for the "admin fee" and called the billing office and was told--i don't know where they get their info from but eveyone HAS to pay it--i paid my co-pay for the visit--but being on social security i have very limited income and sometimes that $25.00 pays for a few of my meds. they don't tell you you have to pay it up front for fear of you walking out but after you see the dr and then it's to late--the health industries are ripping us a new one everyday and its a shame that you have to pay extra for any type of service from a dr. other than your 3-4 minute office visit. right now i'm paying 65% of my social security check just for health care and they do not care that almost every month i have to skip one or two of my meds and eat one meal a day last week or so before my check comes in just to pay their crazy charges. And to let people know--i paid into the system for over 45 years and make less that 1000.00 a month and pay all of my bills out of that.
