Be careful - these companies are encouraging rip off investments abroad and carbon credits and charging people annual fees - setting up LLps for illegal business practiced

I would like to exit this bad investment with immediate effect. I do not want to be involved with the project or pay HBS £45-£46 annually - it has been 10 whole years and I was told it was only going to be for a short while, your company made false promises to people here and I want out. I will be seeking to come to Brazil to see where my money has gone and I would like my money refunded. I don’t believe this investment to be legal, rather I believe it to be a hoax and I want you to end any contact. I need someone to contact me ASAP. There is nobody to speak to in England or Brazil and I will be informing the Action afraid, police in UK and British Embassy to investigate. Regards Glenda 0785752**** 0208551**** Glenda265glenda@***.co.uk Sent from my iPhone https://m.facebook.com/pureresorts?_rdr Dear Glenda Thank you for your time in our brief conversation earlier today. I thought it may be helpful to email you a response regarding your situation with HBS Ltd. I can see that you've copied us in to emails to this firm on several occasions and my colleague Rhoda replied to you on 15 January this year. I've included a copy of her response below my signature for your records. As Rhoda confirmed, HBS Ltd, Pure Resorts and AV Corporate Service (Brazil) LLC do not come up on the financial services register, which is a public database of all the firms we authorise and regulate. This means it is either carrying on regulated activity without our permission, or is operating a scam. If a firm is offering certain investments and trading services in the UK or if they have any affiliation to the UK, then they should be authorised by the FCA to do this. If they are not authorised then they may be operating a scam. It’s also important to note that if the firm are not authorised by the FCA when they should be if anything goes wrong you wouldn’t have any protections in place. We recommend you avoid dealing with unauthorised firms such as this. If you feel you’ve been scammed If you're concerned you may have been victim to a scam, you'll need to report your dealings with them to Action Fraud. They’re linked with the City of London police and are tasked with investigating matters such as financial crime and internet fraud. You can contact them on +44300 1** **40 You may also want to alert your bank if you've provided the firm with your bank account details Protect yourself from scams and unauthorised firms As an individual that has been victim to scams previously, it's highly likely that they still have your details and will reuse them in further scam/fraud attempts. As such you should be extremely cautious in dealing with firms and always check with the appropriate financial regulator (depending on the country the firm is based in) to ensure they're regulated. I do also want to let you know that we have a lot of information about how you can protect yourself from scams on our website which you may find useful. This includes a list of firms to avoid and steps you can take to make sure that you are dealing with a genuine firm In addition to this, you can always check our register on our website to see if the firm are authorised. We would always suggest that you contact the firm on the details from our Register as you can then be sure that you are dealing with an authorised and genuine firm. What have I’ve done with this information I have logged this information so that the wider organisation is aware. If you need to speak to us further on this matter, have any other questions for the FCA, or have more information to share with us then please don’t hesitate to contact us again and please quote the following number, to ensure we can link all your correspondence to the correct reference number. I understand you have received another request for money from Pure resorts. I can see you have previously copied us into your emails with HBS Ltd in the past. I’m sorry to hear about the circumstances that have prompted you to contact us. Please see below for my guidance. HBS Ltd As previously informed, HBS Ltd, Pure Resorts and AV Corporate Service (Brazil) LLC do not come up on the financial services register. This would mean that these firms are not authorised by the FCA. As these firms are unauthorised, you would not have access to the complaints process, the Financial Ombudsman Services or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme here in the UK if something goes wrong with the firm. Our role The Financial Conduct Authority is the conduct regulator for 58,000 financial services firms and financial markets in the UK and the prudential regulator for over 18,000 of those firms. Although we regulate and oversee the UK’s financial markets, there are certain services or products which don’t fall within our area of regulation. This means firms that perform or offer any unregulated products or services are not subject to our rules, and we have no authority over their business. For example investments in timeshare property and property would generally fall outside of our remit, unless this is structured as a Collective Investment Scheme. Further guidance If you’re concerned you may have been a victim of a scam, you’ll need to report your dealings with them to Action Fraud. They’re linked with the police and are tasked with investigating matters such as financial crime, scams and identity theft. You may also wish to speak with your bank if you have provided them with your account details or made payments to these firms. Please find more information on our ScamSmart pages which have useful information on how to avoid scams in the future. What have I’ve done with this information I have logged this information so that the wider organisation is aware.
