Timeliness of depositing your check causes you to incur late fees

Owners beware! Management company fraud!

If Hawaiiana Managment company has been hired by your Association to manage the collection of home owner dues, and you have been assessed late fees although you may be mailing your association home owner dues paper check in sufficient time to get it to Hawaiiana Management, it has been discovered it may be their practice to "hold" the check until after the due date and not deposit it timely.

Thus charging you a late fee. When we caught on to this practice, we started mailing our check with receipt required.

Also, Hawaiiana Management Company advises your homeowner association board of directors to implement fines and penalties, to your detriment, which, when the "warning" letter is sent, it is not specific, yet you get fined.

Then if you dispute the fine and do not pay it, but are paying your homeowner dues on time, they deduct their illegal fine amount from what you paid, and then say you are late-and charge you a late fee of $50 to $100! which late fee then is compounded into thousands of dollars more you have to pay, while you are disputing the reason for the fine or penalty.
