Hawaii DOE is a complete and total nightmare! If you’d like to be abused by your principal and other staff you should work here.
You will have to work in a hot overheated dirty classroom with very little support and no supplies. You will be paid minimum-wage is but expected to do and less work. The children are very naughty and run all over the school yard. There is very little administrative support.
They are afraid Of the parents, because most of them are related. I had parents threatened me even though their child was the one being disruptive. It’s seriously is a horrible horrible place to work. The bullying and abuse against both staff and child towards child is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
And I’ve worked in LA. It’s particularly bad if you work outside Oahu If you work on Kauai big Island or maui you’re going to be working in the country and it is rough out there! The families are super scary.
Again they are probably related to the principal or many of the teachers etc. so if you’re a teacher there and you’re white you’re going to be in for a very difficult experience.
