Went to HT at Waverly Place in Cary NC to order a Thanksgiving meal. No one cared to help me after being referred to 3 people and still waited for help and ignored. I even asked for Customer Service assistance! Very condescending attitudes! It was crazy! I left and went to Lowes Food who were ready and willing to take my order and were very nice too! No more Harris Teeter for me!!!

Harris Teeter - Customer Care Review from Purchase, New York

I've been using Harris teeter express lane for the last year to help with time management in a two parent working household - I'm into my 10th month of 12 months paying for this service and I will NOT renew. Despite talking to managers wait times can exceed 20 min - this is express?

Per management the goal time period is approx 4 min- I have yet to experience this speedy service. Furthermore when answering the intercom they manage to find the rudest and angriest people to grumble that they'll be there- the intercom and card swiped both routinely do not work properly furthering the time spent waiting.

Customer service continues to decline st this location. Please Publix- open an express lane!!!!

Your upset because you come into the grocery store rushing and expecting the world to stop and serve you , no it doesn't work like that , it's roughly about 400 other customers in the store that were in line before you . Customer service is always slam packed because ignorant *** snobby people like you want to complain about a loaf of bread that you ate 6 slices out of . You could have went to the self check out , yet you felt the need to make someone day worse because your miserable

Yeah and the truckers are ***. I live in an apt right next to the loading dock. People are trying to sleep and they are polluting the area with their truck idle. Its not a freezer truck and its 80° out. Turn you *** high idle off. Go sleep in the truck up front of store.

Soaking wet produce - this is gross!

Why is all of the produce absolutely soaking wet at HT? My husband requested a bag of baby carrots for snacking. I checked the organic, organic mult- colored, regular and chips but every kind had lots of water inside the bag. Tried reaching to the back and underneath and still soaked. This is disgusting and unsanitary to have vegetables lying in water. Asked a clerk about it and he encouraged me to talk to corporate. He agreed it is yucky. He said corporate thinks it looks good. Maybe corporate should eat their own carrots! I have thrown out so much produce lately that has gone bad because of this water issue. I am thinking of shopping elsewhere.

If they didn't have the misters on the wet wall for the produce it would wilt and be in a lot worse condition than having water in your carrots. The rainbow organic carrots are like that in every grocery store.

All carrots have to come in and need to be stored where there is moisture or they will dry up. If the produce is really really really unusually wet ask for the produce mgr maybe they just need to adjust the timing on the misters.

I unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience at the Harris Teeter store in Fayetteville,NC. I believe it was an associate named Joe in the deli they have preparing the ribs now but I don't think I have ever had a more awful tasting food product there. The seasoning was horrible and the meat tough. This person needs to learn how to prepare food right or he shouldn't be allowed to do it at all.

The ribs & sauce come to the deli prepacked so that the staff only heats it up, then ags it for purchase.

Harris Teeter Manager Review from Denver, North Carolina

Was a few minutes before closing and walked up to the door and the manager had to let a customer out. I asked if the store was closed and he said yes. It used to be a 24 hour store. I had a bag of trash that he told me not to put trash in the trash can when i proceeded to put my trash in the can and he finally took it from me. The guy he let out wasvtalking to me in the parking lot and said the guy was a real bad name to him and the girl who was ringing him up. This was at the Denver Nc store at 10:00 pm.

I am submitting a complaint concerning an associate at the Fayetteville,NC. Her name is Kathy and she works in the deli. I don't know how the store could employ someone as rude as she. I was waiting in line and I heard her talking to another associate and when I asked for help, she was short tempered in her response. Like I was bothering her! I will be contacting Harris Teeter directly in hopes that they can do something about her incredibly bad demeanor.

Harris Teeter Manager Review from Charlotte, North Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had the absolute worse experience ever visiting the store located in Davidson NC. The manager they was very rude and unsociable. I asked for assistance with the price if an item and she gave me the run around, all the while being very rude. I was at the customer service counter for nearly 45 minutes in her deliberate attempt to make me wait or leave. I didn't catch her name because I was furious with the wait and wanted to exit the store immediately. Her director David Pardue didn't make the experience any less shameful with the antics he used to try and resolve the issue. He pointed fingers at the customers and threatened to ban them from the store instead if addressing his rude, I'll mannered associate that is suppose to be the management. I will absolutely never shop at this location again. I don't plan to visit another Harris Teeter. I'm so glad they are opening Publix supermarkets in the area. Publix is a much better experience!!!

I wanted to say this about an associate named Joe at the Fayetteville,NC store. I was at the deli today and noticed that he was incredibly rude. Why would Harris Teeter employ someone like that when their comment on their website says that customers are their priority? He wasn't using profanity but he was insulting another associate which the conversation was in earshot of myself and others. I hope something is done about this person. I will be contacting Harris Teeter directly about him. Shameful.

I have read the other reviews on this site and I can't say that my experience at Harris Teeter was any better. The Fayetteville,NC store is a study in bad management all around: The restrooms are dirty, the produce I purchased, when I got back to my residence was rotten, and unfortunately I had seen some cockroaches near the deli. And why the female management doesn't have ALL of their hair under a hairnet is beyond me. I seriously don't know how or why this store continues to operate under such circumstances. Thank goodness Publix will be opening soon as I will not ever go back to any Harris Teeter.

Review in Food Stores category from Lawrenceville, Georgia

I have been reading unbiased about various customer experiences with Harris Teeter. Yes, I agree with most. However one should visit the store in Fayetteville, NC to see the definition of poorly run, messy and overcharging for inferior merchandise.

I had purchased about six mangoes to make a tropical fruit and cheese platter for a bridal shower. Needless to say I felt each mango and they all seemed to be purchasable. (I had bought mangoes at HT before and unfortunately they were bad but I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt and try again.)

Bad idea. Obviously this store sells less quality produce than other stores. The mangoes were all brown inside, every single one of them. Bad business.

Also unfortunately was my deli experience: There's a female associate there who might be a manager of sorts named Yashula, who honestly may need to be retrained since she must have skipped the professional conduct course of her company training. The cheeses weren't bad but I had to go and purchase mangoes at another market and they were fine.

I strongly suggest someone from the corporate office , in a announced visit, observe this store for a week. It really needs it and with the Publix market coming soon, this Harris Teeter really needs all the business they can get.

Definitely a bad experience at the Harris Teeter Fayetteville,NC store: Bad management in the deli. The floors were dirty and I could hear the female associates bickering.

What a shame. Someone from the corporate office needs to look in on them, unannounced so they are caught off guard.

Harris Teeter Staff Review from Winfield, Alabama

Studying psychology, I have noticed several things wrong with the Harris Teeter store in Fayetteville,NC. Smiles on the associates are forced. This is surely a sign of intimidation by management. When I patronize other stores, such as Target, the employees are professional and yet laugh and genuinely enjoy the camaderie. A nice balance. Furthermore, the HT mentioned above could benefit from more stringent methods of sanitation in their restrooms. The prices are simply too high to warrant me to shop there. I have listened to others mention the same thing. In this day and age of food borne illnesses, high prices and a shaky economy, one should reevaluate whether spending almost 5.00 on a box of Ritz crackers there is more logical than spending 2.69 at Target. And the samples they have on display under a dome container really has me wondering if they rotate it? The last time I looked cheese was a dairy product that should be refrigerated and the longer it is kept at room temperature, the chances of pathogens increase. Do they not know this?

Harris Teeter - Ordered 2 breast and THIS is what I got
I ordered 2 chicken breast from the butcher. When I got home to make dinner, I found 1 breast and about a pound of disgusting chicken scraps. Not sure if it was a bad joke or the person at the counter was completely incompetent. I Emailed Customer No Service who asked to send a picture. I did 2 weeks ago and have not heard heard anything back. Been shopping HT for 30 years and the service, meat, produce, and most everything has taken a nose dive.

Filthy and foul smelling restrooms at the Fayetteville,NC store. Employees seemed stressed. I was at self checkout and I didn't realize that the attendant had to turn to her supervisor to answer a simple question. She would not speak until the supervisor granted permission. What kind of management system is that? None of the employees seemed to enjoy working there, judging from the forced smiles. Overpriced items that can be bought at other grocery stores for much less but overpriced merchandise is probably what they intend since they are TRYING to get an upscale image in such a putrid location. I wouldn't go back there if someone paid me and certainly not the paltry wages they obviously pay their associates.

I'm sorry to hear this. Our local Harris Teeter used to be a wonderful store but over the past few years it seems to have gone downhill in service and quality, sadly, and the restroom is very unsanitary. I wasn't sure if it was just one particular store or if they're all having trouble.

You are complaining that an employee had to check something with her manager? You apparently have never held a job in your life, you self-important brat!

If they have to deal with customers like you I can see why they don't enjoy their work.

My wife and I were here from Raleigh to visit our son, who goes to school at the university in Fayetteville,NC. We decided to do a little shopping since our daughter has a home there and she recommended the Harris Teeter store in Fayetteville,NC. When we walked in and over to the deli, we weren't pleased: It had a peculiar odor and it was obvious that not all of the women had their hair secured in a hair net. Was this the type of store we wanted to buy food at? No. We relayed our experience to our daughter, who was extremely surprised and said that she would be calling the corporate office as to why the store manager would allow this to happen. Needless to say,we ended up going to the Food Lion down the street. I don't recommend the Harris Teeter store at all.
