Harris Hill Animal Hospital
STAY AWAY
I wish I could select 0 stars.... I took my 5 month old puppy to Harris Hill and purchased their puppy package.
Our first visit they overcharged us and claimed that since he was only 12 weeks old, he would be considered for the more expensive package. If he were 13 weeks, it would be cheaper. Really? So I finally got that resolved and was yet again MAJORLY disappointed when my dog was completely misdiagnosed about 3 months later and could have died.
We brought him in and saw Dr. Greenbaum because he had diarrhea that didn't seem to be going away. She felt his stomach and said she didn't feel anything abnormal, so she gave him medication. We brought him back 2 days later when he began vomitting after taking the meds.
Saw Dr. Greenbaum again and she said that since he was in such good spirits and did not have a fever, we should try more meds ( MORE $$$). We tried every med prescribed and also switched him to prescription food ($$$). Still did not help.
He stopped eating and drinking all together. We brought him in AGAIN and saw Dr. Edwards. She told us she believed he had some rare condition in his intestines and she wanted to do an x-ray.
We did the x-rays and she said she did not see anything but believed it was this rare condition. We took him home and I ended up in the emergency vet with him the next day where they had him on the operating table within minutes because it turns out he had a toy squeaker stuck in his intestines all along!!!! The dr at Orchard Park Vet felt his stomach and knew right away there was something in there. Dr Greenbaum AND Edwards DID NOT.
When I contacted Harris Hill asking for a refund for the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I spent that week for a MISDIAGNOSIS, they told me that the case would need to her reviewed by the drs and admin. I got a call back almost a whole week later from Dr. Edwards saying that they felt they took the necessary steps and they would only refund me for the portion of the puppy package we didn't use (the neuter which was scheduled for next month). OF COURSE I would be refunded for that, I wasn't taking my baby back there to get butchered.
Dr. Edwards argued with me and continued to defend her misdiagnosis and completely lied saying she told me that there could be a blockage as well as the rare condition. NO, she did not. For her to argue with me about it over the phone was extremely unprofessional.
I was told I could bring in the unopened meds I had (since they prescribed him so many that week!) and they'd refund me. When I came in to bring the meds back the one woman behind the counter could not have been more rude and told the woman trying to help me that my refund was done already and I shouldn't get anything else back. The refund was NOT done, because I wouldn't waste my Saturday morning standing in front of the people who caused me arguably the most stress in my life. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE IF YOU VALUE THEIR LIVES.
I almost lost mine due to TWO of the THREE doctors not knowing the simplest of causes for a puppy to be displaying the symptoms mine was.
Not only did they not work with me when they were clearly wrong, but they also were some of the rudest employees I have ever dealt with. STAY AWAY.
Harris Hill Animal Hospital - Cat Treatment Review from Buffalo, New York
I have had many animals. I have been to many vet's and have been trying to find a great place to call home!
This is not a home. This is not where you want to take an animal you care about. I took a brand new kitten there. The kitten acted sick and had junk in its eyes.
I told them the kittens systems. They told me to come right in. As soon as I got there the ladies where nice up front. I went in the back, the nurse took the temp and that was it.
No ?'s asked! Doctor walks in looks at the eyes and ears and listen to the heart and said the kitten had an upper respiratory infection. Now we all know being new there should be tests involved! So I just stunned on how fast it went and 180 dollars later really no answers other than if the med don't work call and we will give you a refill.
Well 2 weeks later my kitten was still sick. I called and the lady at the desk told me they dont do that. If the kitten is still sick to bring it back in for an other 80 dollars just for the visit not including the med. I was pissed.
Took my kitten to an other vet and just found out today it has an lump in its mouth that is causing the eyes and it acting sick! They also suggested test, blood work and medicine! So really a simple thing the doctor did not look at made my kitten suffer over a month!
I may even lose him all because of lazy, money hungry, horrible no good vet! If you care about your pet save its life and don't go here!!!!!!

I've gone to a few animal hospitals in my day.. and never have i left feeling so unaccomplished.
upon first arriving at the animal hospital, the desk clerks made me feel as though i was a pain to them with the questions/concerns i had with my pet. (this was a brand new puppy). even in the exam room i felt like it was my responsibility to remind the vet of the routine procedures that needed to be done. very rarely was any sort of friendliness used during any discussion.
especially by the receptionists. while paying i felt looked down apon as though i was not "good enough" to be in their practice. once in my car i began realizing all of the things that were never even brought to my attention in the patient room. such as heart worm meds or flea medication.
i even had to ask the Dr myself for dewormer. i understand this is all a courtesy.. but i just feel as though the practice is not very pleased to deal with new customers. they didn't make me feel welcomed or reassured that my puppy was in good hands.
the only time i was treated with any sort of respect was while they were tallying up my bill and having the money handed to them.
Ive had other customers tell me the same thing after leaving there. all in all i received very minimal service and don't ever plan on returning.
