Handy Dandy Moving Service loves all of our customers and we treat them as we want to be treated. Therefore, we can not tolerate any verbal abuse toward our diligent kindhearted staff members.

Our customer service team is trained to provide our customers with the utmost level of respect and appreciation. Only once every blue moon our management refuses business to a customer. No business ever wants to have to turn down business.

In the case of this particular customer, our team spoke to her on two different occasions.

When she called, our rep greeted her in a professional manner as with all customers and attempted to walk her through our standard quote process. Off the bat, her answers were defensive and also consisted of yelling some of the answers to basic questions. A manager then intervened and spoke with this prospective customer and attempted to continue to gather information from the customer in an effort to provide her with an accurate quote. Again, this customer yelled answers through the phone and was extremely attitudinal.

The manager at that point explained to the customer that we are unsure as to why she is not in a good mood; however our company has a zero tolerance policy for attitudinal prospective customers. Management further explained that she should reach back out to us when she's calmed down and can conduct herself in a civilized manner.

We then advised that she doesn't approach the next company in this manner when attempting to obtain a quote; otherwise, she will get turned down from them as well.

We strongly believe that she took this advice and applied it to her conversation with All My Sons moving, which we've also partnered with in the past.

Handy Dandy Moving values all of our customers and appreciate every customer that reaches out to us for services.

Unprofessional moving team and customer service

No regard for individuals property. Provided straps and moving blankets and additional pillows for bumpers and they still managed to destroy a sofa by placing sharp items around it and not securing anything with the straps. I guess I should have micromanaged the truck being loaded because obviously the team didn't understand how it's done properly. I assumed that fell under "professionalism"...which they are not. Blew completely off by their customer service rep. Items were not packed "tight" in truck as should be. Movers drank up my bottled water, used my restrooms and took breaks on my time. Will never recommend them to anyone.

So you used this company more than once and throw them under the bus when you don't get your way? Their must've been something good about their prices to make you use them multiple times.

Something sounds fishy here... Everybody knows furniture pads and straps don't prevent damages, you have to make sure your items are actually wrapped genius!

And I'm in the military. I'm just on this post to gain insight before I use this company and these comments seem illegitimate and a waste of my time :eek .

Dear Customer,

We value all of our customers especially our repeats. From your initials indicated in your post, we are certain that you are one of our repeat customers. We are grateful that you chose our services on more than one occasion; and the great level of service you received from us the first time is an obvious explanation as to why you chose Handy Dandy Moving again due to our awesome system and team of movers.

Each time we serve our customers, we pride ourselves on providing an even more exceptional experience. From our records, we do not reflect that you had any issues during the move nor were any of your above comments brought to our attention during the move or at the time of payment.

Our customer service staff welcomes all issues brought forth during the move as indicated in every customer's binding agreement. This is important because we want to be given the opportunity to ensure our customer's comfort.

For this very reason, Handy Dandy Moving has a host of repeat customers, businesses, nationally recognized businesses, clientele and government agencies that entrust us with their moving services.

Regarding your sofa, your binding agreement which was signed before the start of the move reflects that you did not order wrapping materials. Handy Dandy cares about all of our customer's belongings, which is why your binding agreement also provides you with suggestions and advice of how to properly cover items; in this case, your sofa would have required a Sofa Cover. It is recorded that you did not take our suggestion by taking measures to cover or protect your sofa before the move. Handy Dandy Movers, with your authorization, proceeded to move your uncovered items as you instructed.

Regarding bottled water and clock time, our movers do not accept bottled water from customers unless offered to them. It is our understanding that you were kind enough to offer them bottled water and restrooms. Also, breaks are never included on our customer's clock, that is reflected in every customer's binding agreement hardcopy. Each customer is only charged for the actual time worked. To ensure that this is implemented, each customer is provided the opportunity to sign off on a time-sheet reflecting the actual time worked at the end of the move before making payment.

Again thank you for returning to Handy Dandy Moving and Happy Holidays.

Dear prospective customer,

Handy Dandy Moving has a host of positive reviews from legitimate sources. We regret that you chose these two reviews as your basis for not moving forward with our company. We appreciate when customers provide Handy Dandy Moving with the opportunity to prove why our many partners, current and repeat customers refer to us as the #1 Moving Company along the coast. We hope that you will consider us in the future.

Handy Dandy Moving-horrible service, no refund!!!

This company is extremely unprofessional and I would advise you to not trust them with your valubles. First of all, they did not give me a courtesy call on the day of my move to let me know when they were coming (I was told I would get one). Then when they arrived they had brought shrink wrap that I purchased for an additional $25. They started wrapping our couch first. I did not notice until we arrived at our new home that they didn't even wrap the entire couch. They only did one strip and called it a day. Next, they flipped boxes over that I had clearly organized and placed in the proper way that I wanted them on the truck. They were labled with what was in them and which way was up. When we arrived I noticed oil had leaked out of several boxes and onto my couch! yes, not only did they not wrap my couch properly but they stacked boxes on the cushions...I thought it was common sense not to do that! guess not! On top of that, they did not use all the furniture pads I provided and alot of my other furniture got scratched! Lastly the 25 dollar shrink wrap that I purchased was taken with them! So, not only did they not even use it (hardly), they took it with them. After bringing all of these issues to the manager, we discussed everything in detail and she agreed with me that the movers should not have flipped boxes over (since they had no reason to do so) and that the boxes should've never been stacked on the couch. She also said that they would reimburse me for the shrink wrap. So then, after about a 2 hour conversation with this manager she emails me the next day saying the only thing they can do is reimburse me for the depreciated value of the shrink wrap and that would be $15. seriously! I was absolutly livid. Also in that email, she said how it was all my fault because I didn't tell the movers how I wanted things and that I should've told them then....well sorry lady I hired a freaking moving company to move my stuff....why should I have to tell you how to do it? that is the entire flipping reason people hire people. I had no idea they wanted me to be a babysitter. okay that's my rant. unprofessional. bad customer service. lack of expertise. Save your money!

Why didn't you guys order wrapping packing materials if your items were so precious? Why are you hiring brokers who set up your move instead of going through the direct moving company.

And the company could not have been that bad if you're using them more than once, lol gtfoh You guys are full of b.s.

#751944

Obviously...I'm not the only one that experienced unprofessional results with a "load" move. Seriously...took the person's "shrink wrap" with them.

At least, give it back. :upset

#751941

I used them on two occasions .. First time only an "unload" from a professionally loaded moving van.

No issues and the two young men were quite nice. The second time I used them was for a "load" into the moving van and that is the direct results of my comments.

Obviously, "loading" personal belongings of individuals is not a priority ... as you may notice from the additional comments.

#751686

Okay, I'm no genius but you booked your service through a Moving Broker, not Handy Dandy Moving? So basically, the moving broker is the company that you hired to do your job and they messed up your order instructions.

Why are you persecuting this company for following direct instructions from the moving broker? If I was this company, I would sue you for slander. Just saying. :sigh Also, why was oil in your boxes while it was being moved???

Why didn't you put a sofa cover on your couch. You sound like a cheap ***

Do believe I need to hire another company to move to my new place. Thanks for this review. It is very useful & eye opening.

For privacy purposes the name of this customer will be kept anonymous. The disgruntled customer in question booked her move with a Moving Broker (a company who sets up the orders with the customer.

Handy Dandy Moving did not take this customers order; meaning, she did not order services directly through Handy Dandy Moving and Handy Dandy Moving's only duty was to implement the order given to us by the MOVING BROKER). The customer confirmed that she was was contacted with a courtesy call the day before the move by a Handy Dandy representative. The customer also confirmed that she was contacted on the day of the move by Handy Dandy Movers but she also stated she was "confused" because she was expecting a call from the MOVING BROKER and didn't realize the MOVING BROKER hired Handy Dandy to do her move. In turn, the customer was unsatisfied because she stated that WHEN SHE PLACED HER ORDER SHE ASKED FOR WRAPPING SERVICES.

HER ORDER SHE PLACED WITH THE MOVING BROKER INDICATED THAT SHE DID NOT PAY FOR FULL WRAPPING SERVICES. Handy Dandy Moving was only instructed by the moving broker to carry out the services of Loading and Unloading. Handy Dandy Moving only carried out what was instructed to us by the company(MOVING BROKER) that this customer ordered her services through. We have explained this to the customer numerous times that her issue is not with Handy Dandy, it's OBVIOUSLY WITH THE MOVING BROKER.

Please stop slandering the name and good reputation of a company that was only doing what we were instructed by the company you originally placed your order through. With all due respect, it's like blaming the cooks for a mistake the waitress made when taking your order, it's irrational. Furthermore, this customer waited 3 days after her move to contact the MOVING BROKER with her complaints. Furthermore, she was also upset that her BUDGET RENTAL TRUCK broke down in her route from the Gulf Coast to San Diego which has compounded her frustration and she is looking for someone to blame for her setbacks on that day.

Furthermore, the customer has confirmed that her items, including the oils, were packed and boxed by her mom. How is it possible to blame a moving company for simply loading your vehicle as instructed in the MOVING BROKER'S JOB ORDER (this is what the customer paid for). It is not the duty of the moving company to have xray vision of knowing what's in your "already packed boxes" unless the customer communicates it (which was not done because she was looking for her missing cat the entire time). When asked why she didn't contact the MOVING BROKER during the move since she was so unhappy, the explanation she provided the MOVING BROKER and Handy Dandy with is because she was looking for her cat.

Yes, this may sound ridiculous, which is why Handy Dandy Moving has not entertained this customer's irrational issues any further because point blank, her issue is not with Handy Dandy, it's with the MOVING BROKER. Seriously, please do your research before hiring companies so that you will know what their process is. Please stop harassing and blaming a reputable company for problems we had absolutely nothing to do with and did not create. AGAIN, CONTACT YOUR MOVING BROKER & CONTACT BUDGET RENTAL TRUCK.

Our hardworking men were just hired by your MOVING BROKER to fulfill an order.

We appreciate all of our customers as will show in other reviews posted about our company. To all readers of this post, thank you for your time and we look forward to assisting and bending over backwards for our customers.
