Hair Club up front sales are slick. The pictures you see in brochures are of people who spend large sums of money for their top of the line units. Usually greater than $500 /month. (~$6,000+ /year) If you are willing to spend that much, then go for it. But, they...

Blah *** droid I keep mispelling ***. Anyway, I had my friend call hair club in albany.

That's where I go. He asked if he ever upgraded systems if hr could ever downgrade. They stated that they'd do anything to accommodate his needs. Then they tried to force an appointment on him.

Funny, cause the same sales lady said I couldn't downgrade even though she had previously promised that I could.

Pretty bad when you have to lie and deceive a customer who purchases more of the top of the line systems. I can only imagine how the sales people treat their lower system customers

Hello,

My name is David Hansen and I have been in the hair replacement business for over 50 years. I know this business inside and out, my words of wisdom to you would be do not go to a large chain company.

The bigger you get the worse the quality of the product gets. You do not deal with people who care about what they do. They simply trap you in a contract and as long as they see your money they are happy. Go to a small local business, find people who love what they do and have passion and pride in their abilities.

I have been in business for over 50 years and I love it even more than I did when I started. When you go to a small business your experience is more personal, these people care about you and make sure you get what you paid for because for them you are not just a number but a valid customer.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me, I might know someone in your area that can provide you with good results or answer questions about hair replacement. You can find my e-mail and phone number on my website www.davidhansen.com good luck.

I am in no way "bad-mouthing" HC as they have been around for many, many years and are apparently doing something right to stay in business as long as they have.

However, I am a hairdresser of 45 years, own an individual hair replacement studio, have spent thousands of dollars on my education and I take my responsibility to that very seriously.

My clients have my cell# in case they run into a problem ( which, fortunately, rarely happens )and I have a co-worker who is my back-up in case I cannot be available. Either he or I, at any given time, have stayed late, come in early and on occasion met with a client on a Sunday when the situation called for it.

That having been said, I will go onto the hair itself.

One hair system will NEVER last 3-4 years; unless it is a full wig, the finest European hair, only worn on a daily basis and handled with the utmost of gentle care. If the hair is matting, dry and brittle it is because the processing the hair has been through was extensive. The majority of hair comes from China and India, usually good quality in its natural state, but to get that darkest brown color to a light brown or blonde takes an amazing amount of processing, which effects the hair dramatically.

As far as the system lifting off within a day or two ... all bonding material performance is predicated on body chemistry.

It is imperative upon consultation to determine maintenance routine, and lifestyle; and the prep of the scalp and system critical.

My message here is, the loss of one's hair can be a traumatic and expensive experience, in addition to the fact that the vulnerability of a client allows for unethical practices, which is why I am extremely particular about the hair I choose to sell and treat my clients with kid gloves. My advice is before you commit to anything or sign on the dotted line of any exorbitant contracts; research, research, research.

Ask questions and do not let anyone pressure you into anything that you may not be totally comfortable with. If you are considering a new studio, please feel free contact me at Alternative Hair Solutions in Charlottesville, Virginia jeanbrickwedde@gmail.com

Hair Club for men - Don't trust them.

Don't use the Hair Club they are horrible to customers, I have been a member for 6 years and their service is revolting, they have a hard time keeping managers and stylists. If you have a problem they tell you to call their Vice President Steve Stickney, but he won't return your phone calls. Don't get involved with them it is a big waste of time and money; you are better of being bald. They won't tell you up front but they will get you involved and then make you get into a monthly subscription with a one year contract. The subscriptions can range from $300 per month up to $1,000 even though you pay a lot of money they treat you like ***, since they know you are locked into a contract. Trust me they do such a bad job that you will look more ridiculous with their hair. This is the worst decision I have ever made and now I am out thousands of dollars. Call Steve yourself if you like his number is (toll free) 888-520-4636.

Almost 6 years later and this still ranks in Google...you feel deceived? you want money back?

you want some form of retribution? No one in the Hair Club family deliberately "defrauded" you. We all regret that you did not get the experience and results that many did. We wish you no suffering...no rock to roll uphill...only grace.

The Hair Club solution has benefited so many men, women, and children. Present and former employees only wish you the best.

Our collective hearts and minds were sincerely trying to help you. May you find peace, my friend.
