H and R Block Canada

Hello,

I have been having a lot of bad issues with H&R Block branch in Halifax,NS ,Canada.

I am a newcomer to Canada from the UK and I also file taxes for a property I own in the UK in the UK.

They filed my taxes last year, I was told myself and my wife owed CRA some amounts that we paid.

I felt afterward that this was not right and went back a couple of months later to another H&R branch and they immediately told me my taxes had been filed incorrectly and that I should not have paid the CRA anything and in fact the CRA owes me a refund.

I also never received any GST/HST returns throughout last year and they said this was also incorrect.

At this point I was put in touch with a "senior tax advisor" who assured me she would look into this personally and get back to me. I felt reassured that matters would be sorted out.

This lady promised to get back to me and despite me leaving numerous emails and voicemails she eventually emailed me once after two months and said she would contact me the following Monday and that was over three weeks ago.

I am at my wits end about this situation and would appreciate some assiatance as per your guarantee, that should H&R block make a mistake in filing my taxes incorrectly they would rectify the mistakes.

I FILED MY TAXES FOR 2021 in placentia NL. THEIR OFFICE IS PERMANENTLY COLSED.

CRA is pestering me to provide a copy of my roe and the tax return for 2021. Specifically for TMSI, my employer. They say the amount of CPP shown in the ROE dont match and a correction is necessary. They need copies of roe and taxes reported.

I have spoken to corporate offices in my area and also franchises in my area. Nobody does anything. I was promised a copy in the mail about 2 months ago. Still nothing.

And I have spoken to reps at head office.

All doing nothing. This is very important so can someone please help.

Yesterday I had one of the most unpleasant phone call with one of your employee Joy Pitcher, and I had to bring it up to someone's attention.

She was the tax expert assign to me for this year filling.

I filed my taxes, online, on April 8th. Yesterday was April 24th and I still have not heard any words from anybody in regards to my taxes.

I decided to pick up the phone and call to inquire.

Mme Pitcher picked up the phone and right away would not let me place a word to explain my situation. Instead, she started giving me all the reasons why she has not even had a look at my profile, telling me she was "swamped" and had an other "300 emails to go through". Long story short, trying to make her problems mine.

When I finally was able to speak a full sentence (she kept cutting me and raising her voice)., I expressed my concerns. Again, I filed my taxes on April 8th, and on your website it is mentioned you will get back to us in 5 business days...She then mentioned that she would not have time to look at my case because she was all booked up for the rest of the month.

I tried to explain that a simple communication about it would have been appreciated.

15 business days without any news or update is just not acceptable even more when cutting it short to the deadline now.

If I would not have called yesterday, I would have not had any chances to submit my taxes on time.

Mme Pitcher was rude, unprofessional and clearly is not capable of doing her job in a timely and efficient manner.

I, as a customer, did my part by submitting my taxes early enough. She did not contact me back at any moment to let me know she would not be able to take on my file because of her workload..she tried to make it seems it was my fault.

I told her I would be making arrangements on my end.

I obviously do not want to move forward with her expertise.

As you can imagine, as a dedicated H&R block customer, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I expect appropriate measure to be taken.

If you have access to the phone recording I would strongly encourage you to look into this. I called right at 10am when the office just opened.
