I am very frustrated with Gunvault customer serice.
Original review Oct 09, 2023

I bought a Gunvault safe from Menard's. It lasted less than a year when the door jammed.

Clearly a defective product. It was technically just out of warranty but they agreed to send me a replacement. Unfortunately, they sent me a smaller, cheaper model and they refuse to send me the same size as the one I purchased.

I have also reached out to Menard's to help me but so far no response. I would consider purchasing from other companies that back their products properly.

Their customer service department doesn't exist

I've reached out to GunVault several times now and have yet to get a reply about an issue I'm having with my safe. It must have faulty electronics as the batter doesn't even last 4 weeks before the unit dies and that's without ever touching the unit during that timeframe.

Every number is disconnected making it literally impossible to get in touch with someone. It asked for you number and email but no one gets back with you. Looks like gun vault is dead in the water.

Technical assistance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

SVB 500-my wife bought this Gunvault biometric safe in 2014 or so. It worked OK for a while, but started to fault two years ago.

So I followed the instructions to try to reset it and re-enter my fingerprints but it would not reset. So I called CS to ask for assistance. The lady there basically said use the key. Several times she said these safes are made in China ie.-they are junk and not reliable.

She said that if they arent used every day they fault and will stop working.

Really Gunvault? You blame your reliability problems on where you have these safes manufactured

Buttons do not work

Received a call from service telling me I was out of warranty but I would receive an email so I could state my case. I did not receive the email.

I did receive an email from Cannon Security Products asking how my experience was with their customer service. I answered that I had not received the promised email. Have not had a response from them as yet.

Still want them to follow through. If you can help I would appreciate it

Product reeks, company refuses to help

I recently purchased a GunSafe brand NV100 gun safe. As other reviewers on different sites have indicated, the foam in this safe reeks to high heaven of naphthalene (AKA mothballs).

I tried the Febreeze trick and leaving it in the sun, and two weeks later it still reeks. I purchased this item at a local retailer new, and thinking that the issue was a batch problem I decided to contact the manufacturer rather than return it to the retailer only to have the same problem. Upon speaking with a Tony Hernandez (who seems to be the only employee working the phones or the email system) he assured me that all I needed to do was email a copy of my receipt and he would send me a new safe. A week after I emailed the receipt I received a reply stating that the smell was not a defect and he could not replace the safe.

When I mentioned that the vapors could be hazardous and all I needed was new foam the response was "There is no way of knowing if that safe was new or preened (sic)..You need to understand that every company has policies and that you didn't purchased this from us. So there is no way we can help you out with that issue." Seems like the company policy is to not assist the customer in any way.

I will never purchase a product made by this company again, they have terrible customer service and don't care about the customer after they have your money. Otherwise the safe does as advertised, and if they can get the foam issue straightened out they will have a great little safe.
