$7000.00 hub caps

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2013 TACOMA,WITH THE LIMITED PACKAGE,COSTING ABOUT $7000.00.THE LIST OF OPTIONS READ CHROME CLAD ALLOY WHEELS,WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE ALLOY WHEELS WITH CHROME HUBCAPS(PLASTIC),NOT CHROME WHEELS.I THINK $7000 IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR NAVIGATION AND HUBCAPS.MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT THE LIMITED PCKG.IS TO LOOK FIRST,BECAUSE THEY WON'T TELL YOU THAT THE WHEEL IS COVERED WITH A PLASTIC HUBCAP.CAVEAT EMPTOR.P.S. I SPOKE TO TOYOTA MOTOR CORP.IN CALIFORNIA AND THE GENTLEMAN SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO EXCEPT GIVE ME $300.00 TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF NEW WHEELS OR SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP,WHICH IS FREE FOR THE FIRST TWO YEARS.VERY GENEROUS!!!!!!

Gulf States Toyota is the regional wholesale distributor of new Toyotas to retail dealers.

They put a lot of extra *** on these cars and then reprint the window sticker to make it look as though things like your plastic wheel caps were factory installed.

Tip: look at the upper right side of the window sticker and you'll see the "distributer-installed accessories" listed in fine print along with the outrageous prices. At minimum, you'll see $395 floor mats and a *** wax and scotch guard thing for about $299.

That's just on the cheap cars. If you go down the right side of the sticker near the bottom you'll see "shipping and handling." On their little cars, this about $950. Just for perspective, a retail buyer shipping a single car from Tampa to Houston can get it done for $550. How much you think it costs GST to ship millions of cars?

The retail dealer gets heavy discounts on these specious extras.

That means that $1000 discount you got was mostly air and you are paying full-boat sticker or more.

By the way, for those who are jumping on the guy for not noticing the plastic caps: He bought a Toyota, not a Hyundai, and the sticker said they were chrome, not plastic.

Why should he have to walk around the car with a rock hammer testing for plastic parts?

That is pretty funny. You never walked around the vehicle before you signed on the doted line?.

Now tell use the real truth, who's fault is it really?

Warrenty scam

When I purchased a new Honda CRV from Reliance Honda in Lake Jackson, Tx they offered me a warranty backed by Gulf States Toyota in Houston

Texas.

I purchased the warranty because they put in writing that if I did not use the warranty during the six year period the purchase price of the warranty would be refunded by the dealership.

Two months later Reliance Honda was purchased by Honda of Lake Jackson, who will of course not honor this guarantee.

Gulf States Toyota would not refund the entire amount of purchase as they shoulld have since the warranty had not gone into effect.

Never, ever purchase an extended warrenty, it's only a good deal for them.
