Overcharged us and they won't correct it
My wife and I had eye exams at Gulf Coast Optometry in Naples, FL. The eye exams were to get prescriptions for glasses, and we told them that we did not want our eyes dilated or anything else because we have annual eye exams by an ophthalmologist.
We also told them that our insurance (Humana) told us that Gulf Coast Optometry is in network and the eye exams are fully covered. Gulf Coast Optometry still charged us a total of $58 for the exams.
When we picked up our glasses the following Saturday, we told them that we confirmed with a Humana rep that we should have paid $0 for the exams. The Gulf Coast Optometry rep told us that the charge was for retina scans. We told them that we didnt have retina scans, and so they called the person out who did the exams and she verified that we did not have retina scans.
So they said that they would contact billing to have it corrected.
The following week, it wasnt corrected, so I called them about it. They gave me the number for their billing department, so I called them. I spoke with Emilio and explained everything to him. He said that they would look into it.
The following week, it still wasnt corrected, so I called them about it again. Emilio said that he was told that we had retina scans (or something like that) and that is why we were billed.
I told him that we only had the exams to get prescriptions for glasses and nothing else, which were fully covered. He said that he would contact the Naples location again and that I could call back in a week to see if it is corrected.
This has been going on for over two months and they still have not corrected it.
