Verified ReviewerCaveat Emptor - "All sales final"
After several emails and conversations, we ordered a build-to-spec desk from Guice Woodworks. It was not built to our spec, it was built to whatever Guice felt like building.
The supplied drawing specified a height of 26.5".
The finished product was 30.25" high.
The supplied drawing specified a desk component of 29" x 52". The finished product was 28.25" x 51.75".

Buyer Beware
I purchased a custom made a $1600 8'x7' corner desk from Wade Guice of Guice Woodworks. I said the desk needed to be smooth for writing.
He assured me it was "flat and smooth". However, the desk has several 1 cm dips (low spots) and uneven joins. The planks are of different thickness resulting uneven joins. When I told him of my disappointment, he first blamed the wood supplier, then the shipper.
He claimed it was fine when it left his shop. I sent him an enlarged portion of a picture he sent me prior to shipment which shows that the irregularity were present prior to shipment. I saw bad reviews on line prior to my purchase. When I asked about the bad reviews he said he had learned a lot since then, etc.
I would not recommend his services. His style is very amateurish in my opinion.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Poor quality for the price
Guice Woodworks recently contacted me and we were able to resolve the issues we had.
Did a poor job on the L-shaped desk that I commissioned, while I gave Wade the dimensions over the phone and in a follow up text he still didn't deliver a desk with the proper dimensions. The desk he did delivered was lacking any real care.
It had stain runs, poor polyeurethene finish with bubbles and dirt stuck in the finish and leftover glue in the joints. Also the predrilled holes were too small causing the wood to split when using the large lag bolts that were supplied.
BE AWARE
I don't even know where to begin, other than the only way we were able to get our money back was to file both a claim with Paypal and our credit card company. With that said---Wade still owes us over $200 from a balance I had on my Paypal account that Paypal would not refund.
Thankfully our credit card company won the case as we would have been out well over a thousand dollars. Wade did send us a table we ordered (late by the way and his lack of communication was anything but professional), it was damaged so I did not receive the order. After the freight company shipped it directly back to him I didn't hear a peep from him. After several emails were sent without a response from him I reached out to Etsy (where I initially made contact with Wade) and Paypal to file a claim.
After weeks of the claim process, Wade then chose to reach out to me. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to send the repaired table back to us. When it arrived the Driver of the freight company asked me to take a look at the table before he pulled it off the truck, because once AGAIN it was damaged. Throughout this process, we asked Wade directly to refund us our money on several occasions and he ignored our requests.
I would highly recommend NOT using Wade. He clearly doesn't have a commitment to his customers, his craftsmanship is nothing to write home about and he's a fraud.
Oh, and the fact that this took over 7 months to resolve after I was promised a good quality table in 5 weeks. Totally unacceptable.
