Guardian Leather Protection Plan

I bought a leather sofa and loveseat from Meier and Frank in April 2005. I also bought the leather protection plan for $159.99. Just recently noticed a few nicks in the seat and called to make a claim. I was told that because I did not call within 5-10 days that they could not help me. The warranty is a five year plan. Nothing in the paperwork from the store mentions submitting a claim within a certain amount of time. Should not have wasted the money! Do not spend any money on Guardian Products Incorporated 2209 Fairview Drive, Ceres California 95307-****.

I bought a protection plan from living spaces, since I spent a total of $7, 955.25 on my furniture and protection plan. There giving me the sam problems everyone is describing.

I agree a law suit is the only way to get them to stop ripping people off. Not to mention there representatives are disrespectful, and rude. The representative hung up in my face when she was being rude to me.

Contact me at 310-735-**** if a lawsuit is on it's way, I sure want to part of this. I just don't have the energy to do it myself (currently pregnant with twins).

I too am victim of this fraud. I bought the extra Guardian Protection warranty on the Microfiber Suede Couch I bought from Living Spaces.

My cat ended up peeing up on one of the cushions and since it soaked into the foam pad underneath, I had to call for a replacement. They actually approved it and sent me an email stating I'd be receiving another cushion by mail. It never showed of course.

Several calls and attempts to follow up with it were either disconnected or not returned. This company is completely shady and I think all of us should file a class action lawsuit for at least what we paid extra for the worthless insurance!!!

I have never had an experience like the one I had with Guardian. I purchased a structural protection plan for my couch in 2010.

I contacted the company regarding a spring that broke. From the start of my call, you could tell the representative was trying to find a way to deny my claim from the numerous questions she asked from how the spring broke to when it happened. I did not realize there was a time frame on when the claim should be reported, so I was honest and told the representative I thought it was 2 mos ago. The representative asked me how it happened - I don't know...probably when my 5 year old was doing something he was not supposed to, the whole reason why I purchased the warranty.

The representative made note of the details and told me to hold on while she processed the claim. At that point my call was disconnected. The representative never called me back, so I called Guardian back. The next representative I spoke to told me my claim was denied because I did not report it within 30 days.

I asked the representative if she had any documentation indicating this policy was explained to me, she did not. I was not informed by the salesman of this requirement; otherwise, I would have reported it within the time frame. The representative also would not put me through to a supervisor or give me any other information. I am completely dissatisfied with the company's service and am appalled that The Room Place would contract with such a company.

Too bad I didn't read these comments before purchasing the warranty. What a waste.

I wished I have read these complaints before I bought the Guardian 5 years leather protection plan. We are all victum.

This company train their rep very well to deny any claims. They would try all they can to deny a claims. It's too late for me. I had a similar claim denied.

I strongely urge eveyone to spread the message so that poeple don't buy this protection service.

I don't know how much the furniture sale rep make in comission from this company, because they work very hard to pursue you to buy this bogus service. I'm sure that they know how bad this company is.

They are a total bogus company. I called them because my toddler scribbled on the sofa's one side with ink - which should be covered by the warranty.

But since i said it was about 6 to 8", they came back and said they will cover only upto 6" of defect. When i bought it, they said they will cover accidental damage. Looks like this company just looks for various ways to decline a claim. THey seem to be successfully doing so.

They worst company you could work with ever. NEVER BUY GUARDIAN's warranty and WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Terrible people, pure scam and very rude too, you know they are going to deny your claim the moment they answer the phone, like they act pissed off and defensive the moment they answer. We paid $600 to insure all of the furniture we bought and in 4 years we did not submit a single claim and it came the day when our couch was damaged and after having me on the phone for two hours they denied my claim because there were too many damages or spots (6 by the way) and nowhere in the paperwork did it say that that it should not exceed a number of damages. They refused to come look at the couch and I asked to speak to a supervisor and was denied, the told me to submit a dispute with pictures and to fill a form and then after I did that a very rude representative named Unet told me laughing literally that they received my claim and again it was denied and very rudely said your case is closed and goodbye, incredible wow I hope there is a class lawsuit against this company

Same thing happened to me. I'd called about a rip on the area close to the seam and the claims rep just entered the info into her computer and hit the submit button.

Of course, I got a denied response. I was told that I didn't file the claim within 5 days of the accident on the couch. What a rip off.

Guardian Products will always try to find ways to deny the claim so that they can rip off more customers by continuing to sell their so-called 5 year protection warranty. Those of us that have been ripped off by this company should band together and file a class-action lawsuit against them.

I too purchased the protection plan in March/April 2005 to protect a leather couch I bought. The leather has not held up and there are cracks between each seat cushion.

After submitting pictures, I was told the claim had been denied and that the cracks were normal wear and tear. I was given a letter describing the chemical breakdown in NYLON. I have a LEATHER couch, not nylon.

I have read of hundreds of complaints against Guardian. How does one file a class action law suit?
