TrI have been a customer since Growers Outlet opened. Worth the 20 minute drive.

Plants are usually less expensive than elsewhere, and Growers usually has a large inventory. Only problem is there are many times when it is just too crowded....

I HAVE had my car damaged there. I try to find a time when it is not as busy.

NO complaints

I ALWAYS have a good experience at Grower's. Perhaps people should think of their own attitude and then multiply that several times and how they would feel as the recipient .I have worked hard at all of my jobs and have always earned a management position.I have also owned a business.

Grower's is a unique business that supplies a large variety of generally very healthy plants at a VERY reasonable price.

Parking can "sometimes" be hectic but there is generally someone to direct the traffic so just be patient it only takes an extra minute.

: If you are a "gardener" you will appreciate Grower's. If you need babysitting for your purchases you are probably better off visiting a small nursery.

Run by a bunch of unhappy rude people who lie!

First impression should have had me running. parking lot is a disaster and make sure you wear boots, place is a mess and plants and trees thrown all over as you have to navigate through mud trails only to not be able to find what you want.

( don't expect help) Worst of all is the Old man who owns the place he will not honor his warranty! I can honestly say I have never seen an owner who cares less about his customers. We spent over $1500 in one visit. Although all the trees suffered badly from the harsh winter (were hoping the others come back) We only wanted him to honor HIS warranty for a completely dead one.

His response was sue me.

I think he gets off on all the poor reviews about his bad rude attitude. PLESE BEWARE spend your money where your appreciated!

Nasty Rude Man

The old Man needs to retire if He doesn't like people. He is so rude every time I have been there.

Everyone should boycott this place, maybe he would learn some manners. I have seen him being rude to others while I was there and shocked at the stuff that comes out of his mouth. Now there is a huge sign above the register that states No Guarantees on anything. I guess this is his way of saying don't bother me cause I don't care about you.

Just give me your money. I don't think their prices are that great nor is it worth dealing with this man and he always seems to be at the register.

Rude older man(will NOT call him a gentleman because he is not!!!!) at the cash register when we arrived.

Went to Growers Outlet on 10/28/16 in response to ad in Observer. Went to cash register upon arrival for direction to products I was interested in since the place covers quite a large area.I asked for location of potting soil on sale. This gentleman said very rudely"you passed right by it on the way in did you not see it?You can get it when you are ready to leave and we will load it for you" I said ok and asked about another product which was advertised but was not available. My third request led me to plants that looked very poor in quality so I went back to purchase my potting soil.I paid for my purchase and asked if the help he offered could meet me outside. The man asked if I was buying plants and I said no since he did not have what I wanted.

He said no one was available to help load the soil at that time.He told me to take my money back and leave. I have NEVER been talked to or treated like this in retail EVER!!! I will NEVER set foot on that property EVER...EVER!!!!

That man should not be in a job where he is in contact with the public. He truly must be a miserable old SOB.

if you have never been treated like that before then you must not get out much.

this review is 100% true. the prices are not great except for his ads.

it's a total confusing mess. they are jerks to customers.

Guest

None of this is true. No older man works there and they don't sell dirt. They sell pot!!

Arnie Lrr

I doubt this really happened.

I very well think the gentleman was rude, but she is leaving out her own rudeness. Most people unless they are a sociopath (like the OP) don't normally act rude for no rhyme ro reason.

Katee Gzo

When you refer to them as "the help" that was rude. I wonder if your own rudeness made him want to refuse you service. You don't deserve to be called a lady or gentleman either.

Growers Outlet - Customer Care Review from Pretoria, Gauteng

Shopped here on October 22nd and the lady that was helping us was very rude. Every question we asking her she had a smart kinda answer for it.

She made sure she told my husband that all men are useless. She really has no business working with the public.

When we got to the register she started *** about her employees what they had done the day before and the day of that we were there. She was not very professional at all we will never step foot in that place again..

Take your business elsewhere!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This place is disorganized, many of the plants are very unhealthy, the prices are not clearly marked (and not all that low) and most of all, the man that I dealt with at the register was the rudest, most obnoxious, verbally abusive person that I've ever encountered in a retail situation! I wanted to buy some advertised roses but when I finally located them, several of the types were not priced.

I made a selection(which took a while because so many of the plants were sub-par) and when I got to the register, I wanted to clarify the price of the roses based on the ad that I had with me.

The man proceeded to talk to me like I was an absolute ***, and told me to put the roses back. With all the other good nurseries available in the Charlotte area, I highly recommend that you shop at one of them and don't allow yourself to be suckered in by the reviews that try to excuse bad behavior!

sounds like it was your first time there. anyone that has been there more than once knows what to expect and doesn't usually get bent out of shape for the reasons you have stated.

i think you should try it again. just saying

NASTY RUDE OPINIONATED CASHIER

It is a shame how 1 bad employee can ruin a small business! I shop at Growers Outlet in Pineville, NC all the time.

I know most employees there so well, that when I would go in to buy plants, they knew I was staging my home for sale. They would often ask me how it was going and if it sold. Would help me to my car with my purchases, and the owner while some people would think is little rough around the edges, he really is not. He is serious about his work, is a horticulture expert, a perfectionist and has a ton of knowledge - which most people don't appreciate.

Anyway, went in to buy an indoor plant - usually I buy for my yard, when the employee that knows me mentions that I must have sold my house because I am buying indoor plants. I told him that I had not and actually took my home off the market. I told him during our 2 minute conversation that many things hurt the sell of the home including the elementary school that is slated for my neighborhood. Its not the greatest, test scores are low.

After speaking to him for a few minutes I went to Kelly the cashier. I have never seen her before, but she seemed a little gruff at first. During check out, Kelly asked me what school I was talking about. When I told her what school I swear she turned into Curilla De Ville right in front of my very eyes.

She told me that I was " full of ***" yes she said *** to me a paying customer... she had already swiped my credit card at this time. She then proceeded to tell me how her child goes to that school and I'm wrong and to "get the *** out of the store".. Meanwhile, I have a child that goes there as well.

I don't set the standards for the schools - In the 2010-11 school year - 48.3 percent of students were proficient in reading!!!!!I love my daughters teacher and a few of the teachers at the school. Sadly to say, the feedback received from potential buyers was really about the school. I then asked to speak to the manager.. she smiled and say she was it..

I had spoken to the owner before and knew he was an older gentleman, so I asked to speak to him ,all the while maintaining my composure - I told her she cannot talk to customers that way and demanded a refund. She pointed to a sign that said no refunds. That's when I looked at her and said that I will never do business here again, and that she just lost money for the company. I plan to get all of my receipts from this company and mail them to the owner so he can tally up what a bad cashier cost him.

I spent thousands there buying new trees shrubs and flowers for my yard - I live on 1/2 an acre. I also told Kelly that she has no idea what she has done to the company because she is only a cashier - a bad one at that- and gets paid hourly. Kelly if you ever see this, I hope you can learn to keep your opinions to yourself while at work. If you can manage that, may be , just may be, you next career move will be a cashier at McDonalds.

However, even McDonalds has a standard of conduct for their employees while on the job - I doubt they would even hire her. As far as Growers Outlet - will I still shop there - I don't know..

will I let one bad apple spoil the bunch? Ill see what the owner has to say.

the school's test scores is not what prevented the property from selling, it was the price. The correct price fixes any defect, in the property location, condition etc. I've been selling real estate all my adult life, it still amazes me how home owners just don't get it...

you must not get out much

Update

The owner apologized for the treatment I received. Unheard of !

A company in this day that actually listens when a customer has an issue and then apologizes for it.

My faith in this company has been restored. I'm relieved, I can still get above quality plants at affordable prices still and continue to have a beautiful yard!
