Our group had reservations we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. Our meals were delivered at different times and a few dinners were incorrect. Some orders were wrong and no attempt was made to correct it. No need to say, but we left very disappointed. We complained to three different people and we were shunned. A few remarks were made that were not meant for our ears. I will never eat at this place again. The Griswold Inn seems to rely on the buildings history rather than good food with good service. These folks acted as though they were doing us a favor by letting us eat there with all the Essex folk.

GRISWOLD INN-ESSEX CT - Served burnt meat and did not make it right !

The last two meals we had there were not enjoyable at all. At Christmas time my dad(age82) and my Aunt (age 87) were served over cooked meat that was difficult if not impossible to chew. our server was told immediately, but she did nothing. They were not able to eat there meals at all. Upon paying the bill, we voiced our dissatisfaction and we were told that we should have told our server, we did. The staff at Griswold Inn were quite indifferent to our satisfaction. I wrote a letter to The Griswold Inn , expressing in detail our dissatisfaction and that letter went UNANSWERED.

Something is definitely wrong at the Gris. We also had a bad experience with food being poorly prepared.

We were able to have the meals corrected but one of the seated parties went unserved while they re cooked the meal. This was the second time in three months where we have had issues at the Gris
