Green Chimneys is not helping kids.
My daughter was abused there. It's a *** show with staff and teachers abusing their power, they seem to have more issues than the kids.
I reported a "crisis team " staff for things my daughter told me he said to her... I was picking her up one day after school, and this 6+ foot grown man stared me down as I walked through the parking lot...he clearly knew I reported him. I wanted to scream at that SOB that I'm not afraid of you like my 9 year old daughter is, friggin' POS coward!
Mr. Jones, yup, still abusing kids I'm sure.

I was one of countelss youth who was physically abused and sexually at Green Chimneys. There are currently accounts on Reddit, Fornits and a video outlining the sundry abuses that took place there and continue to this day.
Teens under 18 were put in charge of each of the dorm rooms.
They were called room leaders. The one I had was 13. Every day she beat me and an 8-year-old. We were slapped; kicked, punched and I was forced to lie on the floor while this older girl trod on my back.
Dr. Samuel B. Ross Jr. just uses animals for show as Green Chimneys is more for animals.
Kids have been medically abused and boys abused at the on-grounds hospital, David Hall. Dr. Ross has made kids eat cigarettes; has beaten them (I was beaten) and staff has done the same. Dr.
Ross routinely threatens to send kids to Rockland State Hospital and boys to David Hall. Grades are split into A & B levels and B is lower. Teachers slap and kick kids - I was one of many who was. School was woefully inadequate as kids were not taught on grade level.
Sexual predators were hired and one man was hired in the Girls' Dorm and fired after the girls reported him. Even so, reporters were punished. I was beaten every single day and I learned online that 3 rapists who graduated to serial killers attended Green Chimneys. Eric Napoletano (he's the subject of Pienciak's book "Mama's Boy: The Story of a Serial Killer & His Mother) was there 1974-76; Philip Zagarella in the late 60s and early 70s and Eric Lau in the early 90s.
I read articles where Lau, a David Hall inmate killed a teacher and he had a history of stalking people. Green Chimneys no dout exacerbated the level of disturbance of these individuals. It is a very dangerous place.
Check with the fire dept and area hospitals for kids who were brought in with staff inflicted injuries. Also check with Rockland State as kids were committed there and also medicated at Green Chimneys with no parental consent or information.

All true I was a resident of Green Chimneys for three Miserable years, The problem I have with this post is that you seem to be one of the few coming forward, your postings are all over the internet. My feeling is that I wish other victims of the decades long Abuse at Green Chimneys would come forward so that we could finally begin moving in the direction of shutting this miserable place down .
Green Chimneys is a dangerous place and abuse keeps on. That place should be investigated and Ross held accountable.
Green Chimneys should have been closed decades ago. Dr.
Samuel B. Ross Jr. is nothing but a fraud and should never be anywhere near kids, especially those with any kind of a special need. He's also dangerous.
It's past time to stop protecting people like him and the abusers he hires. Green Chimneys is nothing but a dumping grounds for kids and a breeding grounds for cruelty and abuse.
On May 30, 2001 the Putnam County News & Recorder had an article about 3 boys raping an 8 yo boy at Green Chimneys.
