Sold defective engine / Misleading mileage claim
- - Engine advertised as clean, low-mileage at 70k.
- - After install, it sounded like a diesel; refund refused and costs for labor, removal, and travel.
I bought an engine for my Honda Accord from Green Brook Auto Recycling & Scrap Metal Junk Yard after Naser guaranteed me it was a clean, low-mileage 70k engine. He repeatedly told me, I promise you the engine works.
That was completely false.
After paying my mechanic $900 to install it, the car sounded like a diesel truck the second it started. There is no way this engine had only 70,000 miles it sounded more like a neglected 300,000-mile engine ready for the junkyard.
They refused to take responsibility and refused to refund my money after selling me a bad engine. I lost money on labor, removal, truck rental, gas, tolls, and multiple trips from Queens to New Jersey.
Very dishonest, shady, and unprofessional business. They will say anything to make a sale.
I strongly recommend staying far away. Save yourself the headache and avoid them at all costs.
