Cheap Chinese heat pump. Our unit is barely 2 years old. It gives an H4 error. Gives cool air on heat. Need to constantly reset the breaker for it to heat after every cycle. Avoid Gree!!
Unit does not heat without resetting the breakers. HVAC guys have no idea.
Gree doesnt care. See you in court.

There is complete disregard for customers during the winter months. The installer is equally frustrated.

Verified ReviewerTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
- - Repeated calls to Gree Canada; no callbacks.
- - Rep promised replacement and follow-up, but no contact.
- - Heat pump failure removes the only heat source.
Its been a terrible customer service experience with Gree Canada. I called numerous times for help with my heat pump with no call back.
I spoke to someone months ago who said they will be arranging a replacement unit and will contact me back for details. No one ever got back. In fact, they cant even find any record of my call. I have babies and this is the only heat source.
My plumbing pipes ended up burying because this the heat pump not working.
Dont expect much from Gree once you purchase their unit. There are just better companies that stand behind their product.

Mini-Split Heat Pump - Gree Canada
- - Gree mini split ran 2 years before failure.
- - Outside unit leaked; moisture ruined system.
- - Gree Canada promised replacement, then stopped replying.
Hi,
I don't usually complain online about any companies, but after my experience with Gree Canada, I had a sense of duty to share my experience with everyone.
I had a Dual mini split heat pump installed by a local contractor, the brand of the Heat pump was from a Chinese company called Gree, the unit worked fine for two years, after that period, We started getting weird codes on the head units, and it stopped working completely. I called a technician to come check it out, the technician informed me that the outside unit developed a leak on the inside and the entire system was contaminated with moisture, and basically was ruined. I called my local contractor who referred me
to Gree Canada for the Warranty, which is five years.
After getting in touch via Email with Gree Canada, they took the steps to get the proof of purchase, and told me they would replace the unit and also pay for the labor. To get to the point of this story, after running after them since March to replace my unit, they stopped answering my calls, voice mails or emails. They won't even answer me if they will still replace my unit,
now i have a 5 thousands dollars boat anchor by my house, had to go buy two mobile air conditioners for the summer, and I am pretty much out of luck.
I've also talked to in town resellers about Gree, and they told me that they have a lot of difficulties with the customer service, and basically don't want to sell their brand anymore.
If you ever consider buying a mini split heat pump, try to avoid any Chinese company, especially Gree Canada. Buy from an established brand like Lennox, Fujitsu, Etc...
The company I was dealing with is based in Quebec is called Sunrise Tradex Corp. www.gree.ca, and are based out of St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Qc.
Hope this will help anyone.
