Never received my items... East Orange to Hesperia, CA

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I wouldve given the company a 0 if one was available. This is and has been the worst experience EVER!!!

I initially paid ( tri-state van lines) Daniella and Joseph and prior to booking they were extremely helpful and returned any questions or emails I had sent.

However, once the initial pick up was made, they said they couldnt help and had no information other than a 201- 451-****. I have attempted to reach Matthew for over a week now and to no avail. I can also provide screen shots/call log.

Long story short: my items were picked up in East Orange on 4/6, NJ and was supposed to be taken to their "storage facility" in NY.. I called on 4/26 and was told my items were picked up on 4/25 and that id be receiving a phone call for delivery.

Never happened til days later.

I received a phone call on May 1st saying the movers would arrive the next day and that id receive a phone call within 15 mins to confirm. However, NEVER received a call and the number they provided me 818-23*-**** he never replied. Again, I attempted to reach Matthew and he said that he "couldnt provide any information and that the items were left in Las Vegas and were just sitting because no one had shipped them the rest of the way. (to CA) I asked when they would arrive and he said id "recieve a phone call in 15-mins and if, not to call back." I NEVER received a call from dispatch, i attempted to call several times and he NEVER answered nor dis he return ANY of my calls.

I even emailed Daniella at Tri-state and NO one responded. (I have proof of email)

Over a week later (thursday the 14th) I received a call advising the shipment would arrive the next day. At this point, it was close to 21 days..

I met with the shippers who wasnt aware of the items i had , he attempted to give me items that WERENT MINE and didnt SHIP ALL MY ITEMS. I am yet missing A LARGE BOX full of my/my families items and a Vintage bench which, i have no idea how it could be replaced.

I have YET to be contacted by anyone from either Co. nor have i been able to get through to anyone.

At this point, im pretty much counting it up as a loss and will proceed to file a complaint with the BBB.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND RUN.. DO NOT TRUST IT..

3000 number to Matthew (dispatch) who Never Answered!33

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!

DO NOT SELECT THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVING PURPOSE!!!!

Sales department will work only untill get Order from customer (you). Once they book order, no one will talk to you and they never concern about your items.

Whenever we call for our item delivery, they simply answer without response, very rude behaviour in reply. We will get lot of frustration in their answer.

They simply just dont care about our self respect.

If you call for missing items, they will take their own time for responding. They will not deliver items as per commitment on time.

They will also charge you more thant what they committed.

Please think three times before booking order with this packers and movers. On overall my experience, I had some bad experience with this packers and movers.

Our move went without any problems. The good men from xtreme movers made it all seem too easy.

They were punctual, attentive and very professional. The whole packing and loading process of a 4-bedroom house took them only a few hours. This level of pace is quite rare! Not only were they fast, they were good at the job too.

The proof is that none of my valuables suffered the slightest bit of damage on the way.

They even unpacked and assembled my furniture at my new house. I am so lucky that I got these men to move my stuffs.

I just didn’t have the time to make this relocation happen on my own and so I hired Great American Van Lines. When I called them, the customer service seemed very friendly and helpful.

Their quote was unbeatable. The movers arrived sharp on time and were very capable looking. All four men had years of moving experience and it showed in the way they worked around my old house packing and loading all my belongings. Their efficiency ensured a very fast job done.

The men did all the hard work while keeping a smile on their faces. They delivered on time with all my belongings in great condition

ACAM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!

wrong moving choice of a LIFETIME.

let me get it straight though.

two of the three guys (not the one in charge) were

extremely friendly and efficient.

the one in charge of the move itself, whos name we dont know because he DECLINED to tell me his name, was a complete *** of the EARTH. I WILL update this review with his first AND last name so he never has to work for you in the future.

when we explained the extra charges were not made known, he completely refused to move or talk to us. he is a complete *** of the entire universe and he does not deserve to be a human being with that type of customer service in mind.

He broke a nightstand, the bottom wood part came off, which had nothing to do the weight of the thing. he told the other two guys to say that they didnt break anything and we overheard.

Brian Blum from the management office gave me a quote of $650 paid $50 deposit. but guess what? the actual movers come with a whole another set of a la carte menu of extra services that are "required" for the move. this was NOT mentioned at all by Brian and when i inquired about hidden fees or tolls, he claimed that he doesnt know about tolls when he clearly works in jersey city and there are tolls going into new york. on the day of the move?

NO ONE from the company will pick up the call AT ALL on your move day. their voicemail box is FULL.

this is not a company. this is a scam.

dont use this company unless you like to be surprised with double your quote.

Moving is always stressful!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Moving is always stressful, painful and complicated, and for me is always hard to say goodbye to my neighbors. I have moved three times so far and the last two moves, I used Great American Van lines!

After the very first move, I was anxious because of the bad experience that I had with the moving company. There was some broken furniture and there were some missing things. Luckily, after the first move, I took the advice of my friend who told me to try out Great american van Lines and I cannot thank him enough. I really do not know why I did not listened to his advice from the very beginning, but wanted to choose the company myself.

If I had hired Great american Van lines at the beginning, I would have had a nice and smooth move. I worked with a team of three movers and I can not praise them enough. The guys were prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Do I have to mention that everything is excellent after my move (no scratched or lost furniture) and of course no hidden fees.

These people showed a great amount of understanding to me. I felt a bit disorganized, but they helped me with everything. This move went smoothly and I am extremely happy.

I cannot even describe how I feel! Thanks guys so much for making this move so easy for me!

Don't even think about it!!

We moved from NY to FL they lost our coffee table, mirror, a 5000$ rug.. Worst movers ever..

Do not use them.. They give you a low quote first but when they show up on moving day they charge you more.. We tried to contact them about the missing item but the guy just directs you to irrelevant other guys.. No one know what happened to our stuff and they don't even say sorry..

I don't know how these companies can survive with this low low low customer care..

Some one should sue them big time so the do what they know how to do.. Not moving others peoples stuff!!!

Great American Van Lines - Kitchen Table Review from Tucker, Georgia

The driver called and told me he would be late 45 minutes but that was at 2pm he did not show until 540 pm. Once he got there he tried to charge me more money, he got upset because I did not have cash.

I read my contract and it said articles 10 and 41 pieces but the driver said I had 48 and I had to *** 18 things off the truck. I had to throw away and give away nice things. They left my kitchen table but took the chair and base of the table. I ended up paying out an additional $270.00 because of this company.

When I Contacted them they had no remorse. I will never use them very unprofessional and inappropriate.

It's sad how people try to take advantage of you. I don't even know when I will get my stuff!

WARNING THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU, THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THESE TWO COMPANIES

To Whom It May Concern:

I have been extremely stressed over this issue and also fearful because I feel that I am stuck.A few months ago I selected Great American Van lines to be my relocation mover of choice. The movers were to arrive at my old home on August 1st, but about two week before the move date when I did not hear from anyone I contacted a woman named Maggie to find out what time to expect the truck to be there on the first and was shocked to find out that I had to wait until the day before they were to be there to find out what time they would be there. On the day of August 1st, I contacted Great American and spoke to someone in dispatch who told me that they would call me by no later than 5pm that day with the time the movers where to be there, but did not get a phone call from them, I ended up calling them and spoke to someone by the name of Tony who told me that the movers would be there between 4pm and 5pm, on August 1st.

On the day of August 1st, at about 20 minutes to 4pm I received a call and it was from someone telling me "we will see you tomorrow between 9-12" no apologizes no sorry, no nothing. I said to the person, no you are supposed to be here today between 4 and 5pm and he yelled at me and said "No you are scheduled for tomorrow not today, we will see you tomorrow". I then began to tell him how this move had been scheduled months in advance and how this was a problem for me because I had already scheduled and paid in full for my airline ticket and hotel and that I was supposed to be out of the apartment by today and he began to laugh. I asked him to let me speak to his supervisor and his first response was that he was the supervisor (later found out that he was just the truck driver), so I asked to speak to someone over him because this was costing me money that I did not have and that it was going to cost me $150.00, to change my flight and he laughed again and said that there was no one else that I could speak too. I then asked to speak the Tony who had been the one to setup the time of pickup for the movers and was told that he did not know of any Tony.

I eventually got off the phone with the person I was speaking with still laughing at my distress and called into Great American and tried to reach Tony and ended up speaking with Maggie who said she would see what she could find out. It eventually ended that day with me telling Maggie about my conversation with whoever that was that had called me and her offering to deduct $150.00, from my moving estimate. Maggie sent me an updated estimate minus the $150.00 along with a new amount that my initial postal money order should be for to hand to the movers when they arrived which was something like $782.72. I told Maggie that I would have to go to the Post Office to cash in the original money order to change the amount and then get another one in the new amount. I told her that I would not be able to do this until 8:30am when the post office would be open. The next morning the movers showed up a little after 8am and where not supposed to be there until between 9am and 12pm, I wonder why that was!

I know this because I received a phone call from the same man who was just laughing at me the day before and I told him that I had to go to the post office to get the new money order with the correct amount and he seemed to be rushing me telling me that they did not have all day to wait for me to go to the post office and change the money order. Here is where things get even worst, the one who was laughing at me comes in my house and starts talking to me in a very disrespectful tone and it kind of set me off because here I was having to deal with the same man who thought that it was funny that they were wasting my money the day before and now he is in my home treating me like garbage. He took a very brief look around the apartment and suddenly told me that it was going to cost me more money because it looked like I was over my estimated cubic feet of 435. When I asked him how because I had two boxes less than what I had put on my packing list also I had let Maggie know that one of my TV's had broken and I would only be taking one and she said that she could not go any lower in the price by removing the broken TV from my list. He then turned over one of my large moving boxes that I had purchased from UPS and pointed to a number on the bottom 4.5cu, and told me that the seven boxes that I had that were this size would cost me an additional $926.00, there are just so many components to this story because I found myself calling Maggie once again that morning after talking to her already about the fact that they showed up with an old estimate that did not reflect the deduction of the $150.00. I told her my dilemma of being told that my seven boxes were somehow magically going to cost me $926.00 and told her that I did not have that and how could this be when everything on my list was correct even minus some items. I told Maggie that because he told me that it was because of the large moving boxes I would go through the large moving boxes and purge some things and get rid of them.

By the time I was on the 5th large box and almost finished emptying it the same man that told me that the large boxes where the issue that were going to cost me more, told me that it did not matter because he was still going to charge me the extra cost after I had thrown away thousands and thousands of dollars of my material possessions. It get better he jacks up the price while another one of the movers caught me coming out the building and walks over to me and suddenly throws his arm around me and starts talking to me seductively and tries to kiss me. Now here I am stuck and caught off guard being sexually harassed, ripped off financially and treated like garbage by people that I am paying to move me. I know for a fact that I was over charged and that I am being ripped off, but to be sexually harassed and talked to like a dog too while taking my money is just too much, I was paying these people to do a service for me and they caused me nothing but harm and distress. Now instead of being able to eat and do the things I thought I would be able to do during arriving in my new home destination I am stuck eating oodles of noodles and trying to come up with a financial plan to replace some of the more needed things that I threw away to keep from paying the extra money. This had nothing to do with the size of those boxes they were going to do whatever they had to do to get my money and didn't care how they treated me. I took a look at the back of one of the sheet I signed and found a table of measurements which I believe must be standard for all moving companies and added everything up according to their measurements and what was on my packing list and discovered that I was only over by about 9 cubic feet and was told that it would cost me $4.00 for each additional cubit foot I was over my estimate which comes to $36.00, but I was charged hundreds of dollars more.

No one else should ever be treated the way I was, no one. I ask that you please hold off on contacting these companies involved until I receive my belonging because I am already afraid that when they get here they will not be in one piece. The two companies involved are listed below I did not know that I was going to be dealing with two different companies and had paid a deposit of $200.00, months ago to Great American Van lines.

The WORST Moving Company!!!

Google MIRIT - Great American Van Lines to view the truth - tons of negative reviews! The absolute WORST moving company on the planet!

They "lost" ~15 boxes, my night stand, OPENED 10 boxes (they arrived with NO TAPE on them), boxes that arrived looked like they had been thrown down flights of stairs, invaluable items broken - family heirlooms, etc., conveniently left our 2 flat screen tv's in NJ, my Coach purse missing! and had every excuse in the book as to why they were taking so long, including their truck "broke down" multiple times, making our cross country move 32 days! I'm sure they were searching through our boxes to see what all they could take! They rarely contacted me - I had to call every time they were late to see what was going on!

They have NOT responded to my inquiries regarding reimbursement, or locating our lost items. Even our vacuum (which we had replaced the bag with a brand new one prior to shipment), arrived FULL of someone else's dirt and a grey rug wrapped around the belt that was unable to be salvaged. If you've worked hard for your belongings and care about what happens to them - I advise you STAY AWAY from them!

They are thieves!

Great American Van Lines - Movers - DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Maggie from Great American Van Lines (GAVL) quoted me a $1300.

I then shrunk my final inventory to about 3/4 of what I had originally supplied to Maggie and the movers (another compnay - not GAVL) charged me an extra $200 at $1500 total. I called to expres my complaint/concern and was told by Tony (who is the manager) that I was "one of the worst customers he had ever worked with for calling in over such a small amount of money". He then proceeded to raise his voice and tell over me "you know you're worse than the indians we have to move!" I told him that he was being racist and he again yelled over me "I'm not being racist! You know what I'm sick and tired of you!

You can figure this out on your own!" and he hung up on me. This experience was awful and very disrespectful.
