Nightmare living, Shady owners.

Granite properties operates the Princeton and Broadway apartments in 78704, on Woodward St. I have lived at the Broadway apartments for the last 3 1/2 years, and all during that time there has been a dumpster for each apartments up until May 1st. Even though Granite states we have to make our rent checks payable to our respective apartment names, they are now saying that we have to walk to the other complex to use their dumpster. The problem with that it there is no easy access for anybody at the Broadway units. One has to navigate a 3 foot concrete drop to cross parking lots, or one has to walk down the street to the entrance, and then walk all the way to the back of the Princeton lot to dispose of our trash. The other issue is my rent was just raised $75 (along with most other tenants) and I was just told again that after my current 6 month lease expires, I am getting another $75 rent increase. I have lived here since 2009 and have never missed a rent payment. I emailed the manager at Granite around May 3, and told her that I was also concerned about pest issues as well as an elderly neighbor, which makes my concerns ADA related. She didn't respond. There have been many bumps in the 3 1/2 years here: Mail not being delivered for 2 months due to the Broadway units broken mailbox, central air units that freeze to solid ice inside the apartments. June of 2010 I had to contact the owner of Granite properties to file a complaint because the managers refused to send out maintenance, despite the outside temperature being 102 F at the time. I've also had my license plate stolen off my car in the parking lot, had a neighbor draw the SWAT team due to a firearm threat, and I also have had Victim Services at my door asking about a past tenant! No Joke! Stay away from anything run by Granite Properties of Texas 78701.
