Granite and Marble Express

I was told on the phone by an employee of Granite Marble Express that based on the measurements that I provided of my kitchen (I had an accurate blueprint done by the Home Depot from their quote) that the total materials would cost me $1,200. Based on this competitive quote given to me by Granite Marble Express, I put down the required deposit of $573 and was told that someone would call me to schedule a consultation. After a week of no phone call, I contacted the company and was told that someone would contact me in 2 days. Again, no one called me so I had to call the company and FINALLY had someone contact me and schedule the consultation. Based on the consultation, I was given a quote of $1,832, over $600 dollars more than my original quote. When I asked why, they told me that they needed extra material for "the corners, ends and extra edges" , 50% extra for just some "extra edges" does not make any sense, so I asked for a refund. I was expecting a full refund, as I was informed I would get, but was credited $473. I was told that the refund was $100 less because of the consultation and "gas" spent to get their folks out to my home to measure and conduct a 5 minute consultation. Three things wrong here, and the reason this company is unethical and in the business of RIPPING PEOPLE OFF 1 - I had to continuously follow up after putting my $573 deposit down just to schedule a consultation 2 – I was quoted nearly 50% more than the original price given to me, and based on the correct measurements provided 3 – Promised a full refund but had $100 withheld because of a

Double Their Upon Scheduling Agreed Services

These people are unethical, to say the least. I was quoted a rate, not once, but twice. When I called to schedule the job, the price was doubled and I was told Granite Marble Express was not interested in the fact that sales managers and installers had agreed to a rate to do this job, which was in addition to over $3,000.00 spent on a granite countertop. Upon scheduling this additional work, the price doubled to $1,200.00 for 4 hours work with no materials costs. These people are clearly are out to rip consumers off. There are plenty of other granite dealers in the Northern Virginia area. Suggest you stay clear of these clowns and work with a company that has some reasonable degree of honesty and professionalism.
