Graduation Ticket

AI Highlights
  • - Need one more ticket for May 1 at 2:00 pm.
  • - University cannot accommodate another ticket after contacting departments; online graduates.

I need one more ticket for the May 1st 2:00 pm graduation. University is unwilling to do this after contacting numerous departments.

These students are the on line graduates. You can take a chance and see if will call has an extra turned in that day. I doubt on line students will make an effort to do this.

We have spent 10 years and many dollars at a school that cant accommodate one more graduation ticket. This is not acceptable!

Do NOT pursue online PhD here!

AI Highlights
  • - Online PhD program has lengthy defense reviews.
  • - Professor was absent for the last half of class; he admitted not doing his job.

Been in the online PhD program for more than 4 years. I have classmates who have been trying to get into the actual defense process for far too long, only to have review processes take months instead of days or weeks. This is only for starters.

I had taken my last class before beginning DIS classes. My professor, for lack of a better term, was noticeably absent for the last half of the class. I notified my adviser and the boss of my professor. She contacted him multiple times to inquire about his lack of presence in the class. He just admitted he had not been doing his job.

As far as the proposal and prospectus is concerned, it was a debacle. I turned in my revised prospectus and received a great grade. I turned in parts of my proposal and was told my topic MAY not be feasible, but they were graded and returned. In the last week of class, my professor/chair informed me that my topic could not be done. That is entirely too late to make that decision, because to find another topic in 3 or 4 days and write chapters 1 and 2 is impossible.

I turned in my proposal with all of the corrections annotated, and received confirmation from this professor/chair of receipt of my proposal. However, he must have come down with amnesia because he did not remember me turning it in, so I received a 0 on the assignment, which gave me an *** the class. I have email confirmation from him stating the receipt of my proposal. I appealed in plenty of time, but my appeal was not reviewed for some asinine reason. On top of all of that, GCU states I owe them money. Why? Because I failed a class because of the incompetence of my professor/chair, which caused my adviser to drop me from DIS 1, for which I now have to pay the fee.

Do NOT go here. They spend so much money on advertising; I know everyone has seen ads for them on TV, websites, and even on here. They are NOT Christian, they are NOT non-profit, and they are nothing more than a "school" that extorts money from students.

AI Highlights
  • - Counselor didn't explain drop policy.

  • - I was told I'd owe 1,495 dollars.

My "enrollment counselor" did not tell me about the class drop policy before he enrolled me in classes. My "enrollment counselor" did not tell me that I would be unable to drop classes after Week 1.

My "enrollment counselor" did not have me speak with a Financial Aid Advisor BEFORE he enrolled me in classes. Grand Canyon University threatened me. Grand Canyon University told me that if I dropped my class, I would have to pay back 1,495 dollars within 3 months or my account would be turned over to collections.

It's your responsibility to ask about the class drop and payment plan policies.

Same thing happened to me. I've been fighting it and trying to dispute it on my student loans.
