3 yr old heat pump failed; Goodman warranty worthless
Purchased and installed a Goodman GSZ1401** ** seer heat pump in March 2020. Unit would not cool at all on March 15th 2024.
Local service company determined that a small copper pipe inside the unit rubbed against a larger copper pipe and caused the refrigerant to leak out completely. Service company said it was a defect in the manufacturing process and was defective from the plant. We have a 5 year parts warrenty on the unit. Goodman said that since they don't manufacture the copper pipe, it wasn't covered.
Local service company quoted $1900 to repair. Thankfully a HVAC buddy took care of it for much, much less.
A quick brazing, and vacuum test, and refrigerant recharge had it repaired fast. So, research the product, and company AND customer and warranty service an be sure you know what parts are covered on their warranty, and BUY A LABOR WARRANTY!!!

They would not warranty a condenser tube leak. Claimed it was the installer’s responsibility to check when they installed. In my opinion this is an assembly issue when they built the product.
Preferred solution: Spent 475.00 to get product repaired

Goodman's failure to stand behind their A/C
Liberty Home Guard purchased an A/C for me from Goodman. I paid $5445.00.
The unit wasn't working. The tech, Sunny Days a/c said The coils were leaking. Goodman replaced the coils, but would not pay for the installation $1500.00. I had to pay this personally.
The tech said he could remember 6 Goodman units coming with bad coils. I've talked to your "customer service department." They didn't seem to care. Talk about elder abuse. I'm ready to take you to small claims court, if this issue can't be resolved.

the company that installed my goodman as the first three and four days, No heat,and a few days later .No heat, as this goodman was a lemon from day and the goodman co. does nothing about there disfunction furnace and they could care less about there lemons they sell to the public. one has to contact consummer tip.
