Booby Jones record
I was wondering why the golf hierarchy in the US and Britain has made it impossible for any amateur to attempt to replicate Bobby Jones' feat in 1930 of both Open titles and both Amateur titles in the same year. Each year they schedule the US Open to finish the day before the start of the British Amateur, making it virtually impossible for anyone to compete in both tournaments. Is it a conscious decision to ensure that the record lasts forever?
