Their poor communication

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After subscribing to Interweave Knits for years and years, sometime in 2022 or 2023, they were sold to this outfit.. I had renewed expecting I'd get print magazines.

Then I heard rumors on some knitting websites about a "pivot to all digital" but THEY NEVER TOLD THE SUBSCRIBERS THIS. I had to contact them directly and request a refund (I do not want to read a "digital" magazine that might be taken down at any time)..

Meanwhile, they continued to spam my e-mail box with daily ads - so it's no communication, all ads/

I feel like they're another company just killing the golden goose of a good thing for short term profit. I am sad Interweave Knits, which was my favorite magazine, has gone in this direction.

I think SOME of the complaints on here are about a third-party subscription service that IS scamming, not Golden Peak, but I still think their business practices are far less than ideal and I will not do business with them again.

Cons:
  • Changed format without informing subscribers

Preferred solution: at this point, I don't know.

User's recommendation: don't use 'em, they don't communicate other than to advertise.

Poor system for subscription renewal

Original review updated Jan 05, 2024

This is first week of January. I received email stating to renew now to avoid missing an issue of one of my quilting magazines.

I do want to continue. I first went online to magazine website and logged in. Could not find any link or page to renew. Also logged into Quilting Daily site, reviewed my orders, saw my account info but no way to renew.

Went to Golden Peak Media website. No way to log in or establish account.

Clicked on link in email and screen to enter credit card info popped up but it automatically enrolls in auto renewal with no way to opt out.

Called number in magazine for subscription information and spoke to representative for Golden Peak Media who was happy to take info without auto renewal and also canceled auto renewal on another magazine that caused an unauthorized charge to my credit card.

While I do want to continue subscriptions that I have had from the very first issues of these magazines I am very unhappy with the inability to access my subscription account directly and with the mandatory enrollment in auto renewal with no way to opt out. There are at least three layers to subscription accounts, Love of Quilting(or Quick and easy Quilts, or Sew News, etc), Quilting Daily or Sew Daily), then this new GPM with no way to view for myself or directly pay my own renewal with the options I want to have.

Cons:
  • Absolutely no transparency
  • No way to view subscription information
  • No way to opt out of auto renewal online

Preferred solution: Ability to access account to view and manage all magazine subscriptions

User's recommendation: Direct access to all magazine subscriptions under this company’s management to review, renew with options I choose for myself

SCAM SCAM SCAM

Golden Peak Media - SCAM SCAM SCAM

I order love of quilting magazine back on 2/12. I have yet to see any magazine.

I have sent multiple emails and I get the same response wait 7-10 days. They are worthless. They charged my card. They will not respond when you ask for a refund!

This is for certain a SCAM!! Not worth it!!!

Credit card charge

Updated by user May 08, 2023

I never contacted the company for anything, don't intend to do it in the future.

Original review May 07, 2023

My credit card ending in 2384 was charged $1.oo by your company. I have never ordered anything from Golden Peak and don't intend to do so, Please refund that charge and any charges will be treated as fraud by the credit card company.

Signed up for a membership to one of GPM's artists' sites, realized pretty quickly it was a scam operation, immediately cancelled membership, received refund. Thought I was done. Nope, now they've fraudulently subscribed me to some magazine I never subscribed to.

Preferred solution: Full refund, plus complete removal of all my personal information, data, addresses, phone numbers, email, etc., from your databases. NEVER CONTACT ME AGAIN AFTER THIS, or send me ANYTHING EVER.

User's recommendation: Stay away from any of their websites or publications! My experience is with Artists Network, but I imagine the other creative sites are equally fraudulent.

Unsolicited magazine subscription

I have apparently been subscribed to one of Golden Peak Media's magazines without my permission, without ordering it, without authorizing my credit card for that use.
