i was told after a 2 minute exam that I had scabies. I was prescribed medication to treat scabies.

After application of the medication my body became covered with oozing blisters. this started on December 26th and when I went to Novant on the 27th my clothing was soaked with puss from the blisters. Novant said they were to busy to see me that day and made an appointment for the following day. I went home and called the dermatologist office and begged them to get me in.

They got me in on the 28th and the assistant who saw me asked what was going on and I told her the story. She said no I did not have scabies and how did Novant determine that I did. I told her they determined it was scabies just by looking at me. The Doctor came in shortly after and asked me what was going on and I told him.

He shook his head and said no it was not scabies.

He prescribed medication that made the blisters go away and he took biospies.

I never had scabies and the medication that Novant prescribed was meant to kill the mites burrowing.in my skin so instead of killing mites it was killing my skin. Novant sent me a letter stating I received an appropriate evaluation and they would not consider a billing adjustment or financial compensation.
