REFUSED to respond to multiple attempts to communicate

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Promising initial response then REFUSED to respond to multiple attempts to communicate. EXTREMELY unprofessional and unreliable.

We had a broken fridge icemaker, and I wasn't happy with the first company's assessment that the only fix was a complete replacement. Wanted a second opinion. Called GOFAR. Got a voicemail (usually a bad sign), but the outgoing message indicated they take text inquiries. Would've preferred a real person, but I was game, especially if it helped them respond more effectively.

They quickly responded, and came to check out the fridge on our first preferred date. GOOD. They made it to the house on time. BETTER. They assessed that it probably didn't need a complete replacement, just a new fan. EVEN BETTER NEWS. Moreover, they said that it might not even be the fan...it could just be that the temperature settings got messed up. They suggested that before we pay them for even the fan repair, we should drop the temperature a couple degrees and wait a couple of days to see if that fixed it. If not, then they could do the fan replacement. WOW. A company suggesting a possibly no-cost repair when they could easily sell me a replacement part and be done with it? That does happen, but not often.

Two days of reduced temp setting pass, and still no joy. So I reach back out to GOFAR to schedule the fan replacement. That's when I stopped being impressed and by degrees, became disappointed and frankly perturbed. I used what seemed to be their preferred method (text). No response once, no response twice. I tried leaving voicemails. I tried emails. Nothing and nothing. I allowed 10 days to pass from that first "go ahead and replace the fan" text because I got busy, but also because I really wanted to use GOFAR. They were close to our house plus we had been so impressed with the initial response. Finally I sent a mildly blunt text of "Should we take our business elsewhere?", but not even that got their attention.

I can't think of many good reasons why ANY company would want to turn away paying business. But if there really was such a reason, I would have hoped that the company would have at least answered the phone or email for long enough to say "I'm sorry but we are not going to be able to help you after all."

But that never happened. Not to be rude about it, but in my head I kept saying to myself: "I'm not dealing with Go FAR Services...I'm dealing with Go F__ yourself Services." Again, I don't write that previous sentiment to be rude, it was just a crystallization of my frustration at the time.

I simply don't understand a business that can't be bothered to at least reply to good faith efforts to communicate.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

My warranty company had me use Gofar Appliance Repair to come and repair my ice maker. The company would only make a appointment at 7:30 am.

I told them that the ice maker had stopped making ice and was also constantly leaking water into my refrigerator. The tech came and just looked at my ice maker and left. I did not hear from Gofar or my warranty company for a few days. I called my warranty company and they said they were still trying to hear from Gofar.

Finally a week later Gofar told my warranty company I need a kit to replace repair my ice maker. It took several weeks for the part to come in. Finally when it came in a tech called at 7:30 am to come right then and I told them I need to schedule a appointment. I scheduled it a few days later between 8am - 11am.

At 11:30 I called Gofar and left a message because I had not received a call and there was no show. I called my warranty company as well and they left a message. Gofar called me at 1:30pm and told me the tech tried called me and I told them that he did not. At 4:30pm I got a call from the tech saying his cell from couldn't make calls and that he was sorry and could we reschedule.

We rescheduled for 7:30 am on Tues. On Tues. At 10:30am I called Gofar and left a message because no one had called or showed at 7:30am. I called my warranty company and they left a message.

Later that day I got a message from the tech that he made had messed up and put me down for Wed not Tue. My warranty company emailed the Gofar and confirmed the Wed. appointment. On Wed.

at 8:00 am I called Gofar because again I had no call and no show. Gofar then called their tech to let them know. I then got a call from the tech he yelled at me telling I should have confirmed the appointment and that I better be home because he doesn't want to waist his time or gas money. I told him I did confirm and I am waiting.

I called Gofar back and told them I do not want a angry tech in my home and I want him to do a good job. I also told my warranty company. When he finally got to my home with the kit. He told he has never done this before.

I told him about the leak and he said that my refrigerator also needed Freon. No where in his report was it that I was leaking water! He only installed part of the kit and told me to wait 12 hours to see what happens. I will never have this company work on any of my appliances.

They do not know what they are doing.

I have lost days of work for this company. This has been a nightmare!

Horrible run around

this really gives service repair companies a bad name. I just asked Sears to send a different company out since I've had the pleasure of dealing with thesr folks.

a technician originally showed up on February 1 and explained to me that the part was “indigenious" to my washer and he would order the part for me that night. he promised me the part would be in on Tuesday. first sign to me that this going to be bad was the use of indigenous while speaking about a washer. I wanted to ask him if he knew what the word meant.

he sounded pretty *** using that word out of context. so to no surprise this intelligent specimen didn't order thr part I called to follow up with them since nobody had called. so after speaking with Brian's gatekeeper she informed me that the part would be in very soon and they would come out. I gave it more time and no call.

so I called again and asked if I could speak with manager she ensured me he call promptly which to this day 17 to be exact and no call still. I called again to find out why Brian hasn't called. I was toldhe was at the warehouse picking up my part and a technician would be out that day. yes at last my washer would be fixed.

well they burst that bubble real quick. no one showed. so I called again the next day and the gatekeeper once again covered for Brian and leading me to believe Brian had to travel to Siberia. or outer Mongolia to get the part.

Brian must of lost his snow boots while traveling there because I've still heard nothing from him. so at this point I'm over dealing with this company for anything. they are incompetent at best. they definitely won't earn any accolades for customer service or timeliness.

Brian the needs to fire himself as owner or manager because he is useless in that capacity.

Gofar Appliance/Houston Appliance Repair ruined my refrigerator and refused to fix it.

Gofar Appliance Repair, also known as Houston Appliance Repair ruined my refrigerator and refused to come back and fix it. We had a $250 repair that needed to be made and had them come out to fix it.

The person who came out did not know what he was doing, cut some wires, and then caused something to short out so that the only thing that worked on the refrigerator when he was done was the light. After weeks of trying to get hold of the manager, Brian, the only way I could get him to call me back was pretending to be a new customer who needed service. He set up a date that someone else would come out and fix it and of course, nobody showed up. After that we could not get him to return phone calls at all.

My husband had to play the game and call with his office number (a new number that they didn't know yet) and pretend to need service in order for them to call back (they never have anyone answer the phone directly--which, perhaps, should have been a clue to us to begin with). He basically told my husband that it was too bad that happened but they will not do anything about it. I was furious! How can they do that?

My $250 repair turned into a $1000 repair. Do NOT use Gofar Appliance Repair or Houston Appliance Repair--they will rip you off.
