Product is sub-par
Switched from Vonage to GLOBALINX because a friend represents them and said service was better. Paid a years service upfront (over $300) took phone adapter to my home in Puerto Vallarta and spent 2 days with the tech dept trying to get it to work. They said I needed a different router, bought a new one (another $120) and still it wouldn't work. Their tech person was at a loss as to why it wouldn't work. We took pictures of cables, let them take control of our computer, nothing worked. Finally have given up and called to ask for a refund... They have refused even a partial refund, are the crazy? If they are that far off on customer service it is no surprise their products are sub-par. Dean Puerto Vallarta

Globalinx or 5Linx
Globalinx or 5Linx whichever they want to hide behind has sales reps in Barrie Ontario Canada that tell you that you can port your phone number into their service. True, but only for their own products. After spending over One Thousand dollars and two and a half months as becoming a representative for Globalinx or 5 Linx ( even that sounded weird?? who am I working for actually. I guess that depends on if you need to sue them or not??) then did I learn that my cell phone number wasn't portable. Try using a totally different number than which everyone already knows. First and every complaint was, " I didn't answer your call because I thought you where a telemarketer". Beware of fast talking MLM's they just want to sign you up, get your money then leave you to the wolves. Thanks Globalinx for your, as you like to call it "misinterpretation."

I had 2 services with these people the videophone which in and of itself is a joke. didn't use the junk not one time and when i called to cancel the service after giving them over forty dollars for seven months I was to be charged a service fee off $99, well guess what they stole $207.42 out of my account and when i called them they said that all they owed me back was $40 and well guess what it has yet to hit my account. I was an independent rep for them and i'm so glad I saw the light before I dared sold another service. You will not get rich from this. the most important thing to them is getting you to recruit people to get their $500 to join. Do not get this service

Unreliable service, that you cannot cancel!
We got Globalinx because we need a phone service... We just got it.. less than a month, and it never works continuously... you have to reset and reset... and they say that I need to buy another modem and router... it is just the worst service I have experienced! The people at customer service are rude and you simply cannot do anything about it. They say that I need to upgrade my modem and router, pay more and more and more... this is just not fair! They made me so mad!!! that is simply the worst experience, a complete lie!

I love Globalinx! What More can I say!
Globalinx is a wonderful service. I use the DTA adapter very frequently with my home based business. Calls never drop. I constantly ask the people that I am talking to how does the phone sound to them. They say "it is crystal clear". Sometimes people don't know what to say about the product. Maybe when it first came out, maybe they encountered obstacles. The service is saving me money every day. I LOVE Globalinx! Keep up the good work! They pay me to use the service.. I'm happy! My mother in law, two sisters in law, and niece have the phone system and love IT!

I have so many problems to make int'l calls
This company ***. I make an int'l call, if it is connected it cuts off after 1 min. and most of the time it's not working for int'l calls. I call custommer support, it's easy to get connected to billing dept, but never get connected to tech dept. If u press 3 the answering machine says 'disconnect the power and reconnect after 30 sec, and wait for 3 min', that is their technical support. I just closed the account. But I lost my number that kept more than 10 years. this guys really ***. Do not believe this company.

Globalinx is a "joke"
I tried this company and ended up experiencing the most frustrating month of my life. Poor quality service, rude and incompetent customer service and very expensive. I was never happier than I was when I heard a dial tone coming from my previous phone company. Dropped calls, phone failing to ring, static and echoes were the norm. Absolutely horrible experience. Obviously, thy put the blame on the ISP. But, if that was a problem, why did I not have problems with my previous digital phone service? These people are part of a "Pyramid" business and should be avoided. Stat away from them.

I signed up with Globalinx back in March of 2009 because a family member assured me that it was a less expensive service. Let me tell you, it is true what they say, you get what you pay for and the less you pay, the worse service you get. In which case, you wound up paying more because essentially, you are paying for nothing and that it what I did, pay for nothing. On the first day I got the box in my mail, I tried to connect it and use it... it did not work!!! I called up Globalinx to ask them why it was not working, they proceeded to tell me that I had to fax a letter to them giving them permission to port my number from current phone company. I was in the process of moving so I was not able to do this, plus I had no fax machine and just didn't have to time to go and find one. Any way, they told me no problem, that as soon as I got my self situated at my new residence, I could call them back once I had faxed them permission to port and then they would start my service. It took me almost 3 months to move and in the meantime, they were billing me although I was still with Att phone company and was using the same number that Globalinx was billing me for. I then called Globalinx to find out why was this happening, they wound up giving me a credit for two months worth of service. I asked them, how it was that they could bill me when they told me that I was not with them until I had given them permission to port over my number. The operators response was, "We should have received permission from you to port if we are billing you" Right away, eyebrow goes up! I'm thinking, what is she talking about, I never gave the permission to port over my number so I should have not been billed at all. I proceeded to ask her was the phone service connected, she said yes it was. So, I plugged my phone up with the box just as she had told me to do and still, my home phone was not working. I sat on the phone with a tech person trying to trouble shoot the problem, the tech lady took over my computer and everything, we were on the phone for a hour in a half, still, phone never got to working. I told the lady look, I need for you to cancel this phone service, I have a family daycare to run and I just don't have the time and effort to offer to this problem. She connected me to someone else for that part for which they kept me on hold for a good 20 minutes. I requested that they discontinue the service and they did. Next thing I know I am still getting billed that following month. Now, if they really gave me a credit for 2 months and closing out my account out was an over site on their behalf, why did they send me a bill the following month? Come to find out, they kept billing me for up to 240 dollars for which I am fighting to try and get back. Not one day did I have the service and I got billed 230 dollars for nothing. Globalinx told me straight out that they were not going to refund me my money. I had to close out my account because no matter how many times I asked Globalinx to stop taking money from my account, they still continued to. To this day, I am trying to figure out how to go about getting my money back for a service I never had. That's what scam artist usually do right, convince you that you will get something great to get your money and then when they do, they give you nothing in return.

Don't do it - trust me
-dragging out the porting procedures so that they can continue to bill you for the temporary number, while you're still being billed by your current telephone service provider (by the way - that's illegal). Globalinx may tell you that that their having issues with porting your, or don't know where your number is in the process; but, just threaten to cancel - globalinx will have it completed the next day. -charging your debit/credit card all kinds of ridiculous amounts of money and charging of your card after you've canceled their service. - ridiculous hold times when speaking with customer service - if you're pissed - you'll be put on hold at least 2 times for about 5 min each when talking with Globalinx - a strategy they use to get you to hang up. - sucky telephone service, all scratcy and static ridden - lies, lies, lies - make sure that you get everything they tell you in writing, or they'll try to play you like a chicken. - the list goes on, and on, and on. Life is too short - nobody needs this kind of aggrivation from a company that you're paying your hard earned money too on a regular basis. Our relationship with Globalinx lasted barely 3 months; just say no - even if you're trying to help out a friend.

Happy Customer.
I purchased the GLOBALINX Voip service through my nephew for my home and my business. From what I understand he brokers out these services and he asked me to try it out and I abliged. After I signed up with the service I was a bit unsure of how the service would be since the company is moderately new in the Telecomunications industry. Once I began using the service I found it to be perfectly fine, I'm saving a lot money on my business lines while my home lines are just a tad bit cheaper. All in all I'm happy with the service and they really do throw in a lot of extra features, which usually cost more from most providers. On the other reviews, many people are complaining about being charged an early termination fee, even though they signed on for month-month service. This is common practice with almost every phone provider: ATT, Verizon, Vonage, etc... A-

GLOBALINX does not work on my phone line
TO: GLOBALINX customer telephone-jack service; I tried for 3 days, with 3 people to get rid of static and intermitent busy signals, etc.. There is no email customer service department. All 5 emails have come back to me as undeliverable. Customer service does not help. Write to 275 Kenneth Dr. Rochester, NY 14623ph (383) 334-****. Why is there no email address for such a big company? I got suspicious when the emails that I sent were all rejected. I even changed the Subject matter to avoid saying Cancel Order or Refund my money. I Want to send product back & cancel credit card charges. Devina Georgner

THE "YOU'RE STUCK" COMPANY
when you are porting a number, you have to keep your number active with your previous company, but if they mess up the process, it could delay your number being ported for 2 months. meanwhile you're paying globalinx for a temporary number while you're paying the older company too. then when you finally use the service with cordless handsets, it is bad...it drops calls, statics and i'm not talking about using cheap phones...i'm talking about using bad service...because the phones never did that before...call into customer service and they tell you to get better phones when the ones you already had worked with the last company just fine. try to cancel with them and they will not waive your fee.

They are thieves
never never never. the greatest mistake you will ever make. they always always over charge. then they will charge you 65 dollars every two weeks. eoes that make sense at all. i cut of my servive and guess what they charged 111 dollars wen our phone bill is 19.99. aat first ull think its a big deal how cheap. but they hve planned ahead to suck u dry. beside their service is so poor. phone always cuts of and it drains the internets speed. once we cut off the home phone, our internet has been impeccable. neve never never

The problem we ran into, and from what I am reading in the Globalinx Pro Talk 200 manual, even though it it is a digital system, the manual says to connect an ANALOG phone to it. I initially had our newer cordless phones connected and could not get it to work.
When I connected the one older analog phone to the Pro Talk modem it worked. I don't know why they would think people would have old analog phones???
You probably need a higher speed internet connection.
