4 wrought iron chairs powder coated ---PERFECTLY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

brought in 4 wrought iron patio chairs with various rust issues from getting wet on rear porch...

They had a great choice of color to choose from - I selected what was their most popular and they offered a very reasonable price. they had estimated a week or more but had them ready in less time that that.

I drove from Carefree and picked up the chairs and they were amazing. I am having two stone table wrought iron platforms done soon and know they will be great!

I took my mom's 2 patio chairs there. They did an awesome job and they look great.

They had 4 coats of her paint on them. I am so pleased with how they worked with me to get what I wanted and how pefect the workmanship is.

Great work by Glendale Powder Coating

First of all, Glendale Powder Coating (GPC) has new ownership that began a few months ago. The new management is a sharp contrast to what must have existed in past years.

My experience with GPC has all been positive.

I had eight patio chairs and one patio table sand blasted and powder coated at GPC and the results are magnificent! The new owners are "hands-on" involved in the business and they take pride in the quality of their product.

They were on-time and on-price for me. I highly recommend Glendale Powder Coating for all of your powder coating needs.

Glendale powder coat stinks...terrible workmanship

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bike frame, they stripped it then powder coated it. Manager calls and tells me it is done and ready.

The coating ended up with crazing and variable shades. Original quote was $125. After showing it to me, before I even say a word, the manager says yeah it doesnt look so great so he could either do it again, or I could have it as is for $50. Are you kidding me?

What a bunch of lazy SOBs. I said I'll take it as is for nothing because I'm taking it elsewhere.

Poor results, poor ethics, lazy. Tip...drive farther if you have too!

Ceramic coating

I just picked up a set of heat shields I dropped off 2 weeks ago at Glendale Powder Coating. I was told a week when I dropped them off and then I called last Friday to be advised they were not done yet.

I thought that because they were taking extra time, they would turn out a lot better than they did. When I brought them in they were chrome and had surface scratches on them with a couple dents that I had to hammer out. I was advised that the ceramic coating would cover it up after they stripped off the chrome to do the satin black ceramic coating. That's not how they turned out.

Now instead of being chrome with surface scratches, they are satin black with surface scratches. I called them back and talked to Rick.

He advised that ceramic coating doesn't hide the scratches and to bring them back down so they can take a look. I might just do that and then update my post to let everyone know how it ended.

Gelndale Powder Coating, Glendale AZ and Yelp.com

So Im starting my account because I started an account on yelp.com to review a bad business. The whole point for starting the account on yelp was to blow the whistle. Soon realized after they took down my review because of bad business practice protecting bad businesses for financial gain, better known as blackmail or extortion. So this review is 2 reviews in 1. First review below was my review on Glendale Powder Coating in Glendale AZ. It was originally written on Yelp.com but taken down. Ill just paste the review.

I started my Yelp because of how shady these guys are at this company. Ive never wrote a review for a place but these guys need to lose some business for how horrible they operate. As you can see from the review before me, they end up telling you afterwards that it cost more and charge you extra. I experienced that as well my first time using them. But these guys are great cons. The second time I went in with 2 parts for my car and they quoted me 50 over the price sheet they have because they said one of my parts was too dirty and needed to be sent out to be professionally cleaned. I didn't make a big deal about it. After I got my parts back, the backside on one of the parts had oil and dirt basically baked into it. They didn't even clean the part before powder coating and scammed me out of another 50 bucks. Professional chemical cleaning dips parts into hydrocarbon solvent and other chemicals. I did it for a living for many years. So if they say " Oh no we just scrub the surface that needs to be cleaned" they are lying. That is just shady. I'm around a lot of the guys in the muscle car and street bike scene in Phoenix and they had similar stories to share about these guys. Every time I went in they had quite a few customers coming in and doing the math, if they do this to just a few people a day, they are making a killing lying to peoples faces. Shady and typical, the businesses we try to avoid. I just wished someone warned me before hand. Thus why I'm writing this review I guess. And the reason they get 1 star and not 2 stars is because whomever they have spraying the coats, doesn't take the time and effort to not over-spray. The parts I got back the second time had a caked on runny appearance. The same look when you over-spray a car or spray painting too thick. Ive had much better and cheaper powder coating in other states. Ill be using someone else from now on. Thanks for the ripoff

Now my second review is of yelp.com. I commented already before writing this dual review on someone else sole review of yelp. Ill just post that review url and the comments I wrote.

Couldn't agree more with yelp being a joke. Its basically imo a website geared towards protecting bad business. Thus having the bad review filter. I posted a bad review about Glendale Powder Coating which is located in AZ as well. The whole point of me even making the review was to help people NOT get taken advantage of like I did. The website imo is bias and not reputable from a consumers standpoint. The only positive thing is that people having access to the bad reviews through a small link at the bottom but most people don't know about it. Someone usually googles a review about a business, comes to the site, see 4 or 5 starts, then say okay Ill go there. Not worth even having an account anymore honestly. Better to blow the whistle on Facebook or ripoff report if you have a bad review.

One more thing to add. I just started a small business and was looking at places for marketing and advertising and yelp did come to mind. But it was very clear after researching from a business standpoint that if you have money, we watch your back and remove bad reviews, if your not involved with us and turn us down, then we take your good reviews. Imo that's extortion or blackmail. Whatever you wanna call it. People in general rarely write good reviews as it is anyways. When your satisfied you walk away feeling good, when your not, you want to put in the extra effort to let everyone know. Thats why they what they do. The found a niche. They couldn't make money with a bad review site. That would be nothing short of a forum or blog. If anyone should be mad, its small business because in the end, they are the ones paying for a service they actually don't need. Money that could be better spent elsewhere. I think that falls right in line with the dictionary definition of "scam." Sorry for my grammar. I sucked at school. I even spelled my name wrong in the first review haha. Its late..
