Shady Billing
- - Payments are delayed due to their system changes.
- - No help resolving the issue is provided.
- - Loans cancellation paperwork submitted, not processed.
I make payments every month but somehow they fixed their system to distribute payments in a way that make you late. They provide absolutely no assistance in resolving the issue. I also submitted paperwork to have my loans canceled and they always find some excuse why my paperwork cant be processed.

Verified ReviewerShady payment and reporting practices
- - Requested in-school and income deferment; clearinghouse shows FT grad.
- - Made $500+ payments; not posted; bureau not updated; letters say nothing.
I requested an in-school deferment/ forbearance multiple times without any response. They did however check the clearinghouse and saw I was in school FT as a graduate- still no response from them.
Asked for income deferment when I was out of work- no response.
Finally, last year I was able to make payments (huge amounts $500-**** payments) .
Payments are NOT being posted properly nor is the credit bureau being updated accordingly. Sent multiple letters with replies that they cant do anything or the information being reported is correct.

Terrible Company
- - Georgia Student Finance Commission had rude staff.
- - Not a government institution; badly run.
- - I transferred my loans to a professional lender.
I attended Georgia Tech from 1991-****. I am an engineer. Like most students, I took out college loans. The school itself was great. But the loan process was *** The company I dealt with was Georgia Student Finance Commission. They never talked to you straight. I would wait on the phone and the people working there were rude, half asleep and bad tempered. How any of them are employed makes no sense. This is not a government institution - just a very badly run organization without any accountability.
I transferred my loans after my first semester to another lender. The new lender was professional and just normal! This company is horrendous. Even the comments they post here sound like they are either drunk or again abusive and bad tempered.
Loan sharks will be audited and held accountable now. Especially ones with belligerent aggressive staff like this awful company.
