Georges Concrete and Construction

October 2022 hired Travis and Larry George from Georges Concrete & Construction to pour a concrete slab ( 22 feet by 25 feet by 4 inches thick with a 6 inch edge footing ) for a metal building and replace concrete beside house about three feet wide and make a slope of about three inches so water will drain off.
Between October and February I called and sent messages about when they were going to start on the concrete as the metal building company was waiting on him.
January 12, 2023 I sent a text for Travis to give me a call as no one was returning my phone calls. At 6:46 PM he sent me a text saying that he will call me tomorrow morning and that Larry was supposed to tell me last week that they will be there the end of next week, but it must have slipped his mind.
January 20, 2023 7:11 PM I received a text from Travis that said they plan on being there to start on Tuesday morning 01-24-2023 if I had any questions to call or text him.
January 01-24-2023 They started the form work for the concrete and worked on it about four hours, then left.

I had some gas line and pipe to put down before the actual concrete was poured. Since it had been raining, they could not do any further work at the time which gave me time to get all the pipe in place.
January 27, 2023 I let Travis know that I had all the pipe in place so they can get started back.
January 30, 2023 3:47 PM I received a text that said as soon as the rain passes this week I will be out there.
Friday 02-10-2**** Finished form and poured concrete from 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM.
Saturday 02-11-2023 Came to completely finish up and was paid $8,900.00 for the job.
I called Monday 02-13, 2023 to let them know that the water is not draining off of the concrete and sent him pictures as he requested. Travis George said they will be back out to take a look at it and see what they can do to fix it.
February 14, 2023 10:30 AM I sent Travis a text asking if he got the email I sent with the photo's of the water not draining off of the concrete he requested. At 1:30 PM Travis text saying that he did and will be out Saturday 02-18-2023 to look at it.
On February 18, 2023 10:39 AM - I sent a text asking what time did he plan on stopping by today.

11:53 AM Travis text me saying if he did not get by there today, it will be tomorrow
Saturday 02-18-2023 I sent a text at 10:39 AM asking what time he planned on coming out to take a look at the concrete, He said if I do not get there today, I will be there tomorrow ( which was Sunday ) but never showed up.
Tuesday 02-20-2023 11:17 AM I sent a text to let me know when he was planning on coming by to take a look at the concrete.
Tuesday 02-20-2023 2:01 PM I received a text from him saying he is on his way. After he got here and looked at it, he said that we just got in a hurry and it got dark and did not get the three inch slope on the end of the concrete by the house for the water to drain. He said they could polish it down or grind it down enough toward the end so the water would drain on the side and do the same on the front so the water will drain off the edge. He wanted me to let him know when the building was up so they could look at it after the building was up.

Sunday 02-26-2023 I sent a text telling him that the metal building was up.
Monday 02-27-2023 9:41 PM - I received a text that said I'm sorry I meant to text you back yesterday, I can come out this weekend and try to get you finished up.
Saturday 03-04-2023 11:05 AM I sent a text Asking was he still planning on coming out this weekend and received no response.
Monday 03-06-2023 1:47 PM I sent another text asking when was he planning on coming back out and no response.
Tuesday 03-07-2023 I called and it kept saying that the caller is not accepting calls at this time.
Thursday 03-09-2023 I called Trvis Georges phone and left a message asking when they planned on coming out to fix the concrete as I can not seal the metal building until the water drainage is fixed.
Monday 03-13-2023 1:55 PM I called Travis again and left a voice message telling him that I need to know when he planned on coming to fix the water drainage that he said he was going to fix and to call me, if he did not call me in three days, I was going to get an attorney and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Monday 03-13-2023 5:42 PM I received a text message that said ( I will have two guys there to fix it on Saturday for sure.
Saturday 03-17-2023 10:30 AM Started cutting slab for drainage.

They did not let anyone know that they were even here. I heard the noise and went to see what it was and I said to him, did you not say that you were going to polish the end down for the water to drain, and he said that they would make a big mess, that cutting a line in the slab will solve the problem. I told him that ok, if you think it will work, but if it does not, I will call them back to polish it as agreed to start with. They cut lines in the front and the side and said they will be back in two weeks to cut the line on the side deeper.
Wednesday - 04-19-2023 2:30 PM, I sent a message to the owner, Larry George to see when they were coming back to finish cutting the line in the concrete on the side as it has now been a month and the water is still standing in front of the entrance door getting inside the building.
Larry sent a message back saying that this is the first he has heard about it and he will check on it.

Evidently they do not communicate with each other which has been the problem from the beginning of this project and never heard back from him and I believe $8,9000.00 for just one and a half days work is price gouging.
May 25, 2023 ended up paying another contractor to fix there screw up that cost me more money and found out that the concrete slab that was supposed to be 4 inches by 22 feet by 25 feet with a 6 inch edge footing was thinner in some areas so the slab is not what it is supposed to be in the first place and now may not hold up and has already cracked and cracking further. In the future I will probably have to re-enforce or have to completely replace the concrete slab.
