What happened to general paint?
You never see the people who used to run the general Paint stores. You get all these new people in Canada who are willing to work for less.
The others who run the General Paint stores for many, many years got washed out in the flood. Ruthless American take over. Now if the products they sold we're comparable to the quality products you find in many American products, then it wouldn't be a bad move. Unfortunately it's the walmart of the painting industry.
Filled with uneducated kids who lack knowledge and understanding of the business. Coupled with poor quality products and most people who know anything about the industry will stay clear of these stores.

General Paint in Canada and its sister company in the US were taken over in 2013 by Sherwin-Williams. I was an employee.
