Every two months I should be back to dealership for fixing same problem with lithium battery. Big problem with customer service in garage (nobody call me for giving information about my car.) I love my car, but service???

Not a response from Gm / Chev. USA scalpers do not want to send to Ontario Canada.

Original review Dec 12, 2023
I have several Gm cars trucks.
I have a 2011 **** Silverado Extended cab- Diesel (1GC5K1C80BZ146680) still under 200 k.
I have had the fuel pump fail and cause metal to enter the injectors and rail. (big repair bill)
i had the turbo replaced last year (big bil)
now i have a Transmission Control Module GM (1943****) failure.

($600.00 dealer part)
Main issue is there is no parts available from a dealer or aftermarket for min 4 to 6 months (if we are lucky)
Online there are scammers in the USA that have horded them knowing that there is a big problem wit the the Modules failing. they want 2,700.00 cn for the part. and we are not sure it will work with out a dealer to flash it / set it up.
These trucks we uses daily, this truck if used as our only plow truck in the winter months.
I can not be down for the winter.

the chevy dealers i spoke to say it is a big issue, (no parts available!).
looking for your reply.
Note! I also have a 2011 **** crew cab Diesel well over 300 k no issues with fuel pump, turbo, or tran, issues.

Tired of the dealership runaround

I purchased a vehicle from Sherwood gmc edm, this is the second vehicle, first was good that's why we purchased another. It was a 15' gmc 3500 Denali the PDI report claimed all functions operational,it was winter out at time of purchase when the rain came the sunroof or windshield leaked which discoloured the headliner and will lead to other issues as well as door lock on front passenger door was inoperable electronically and drivers side seat heat did not work lumbar did though

2016 GMC Sierra 5.3L Valve Lifter Failure Associated with AFM

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been a GMC person all my life but because of a recent failure at 130,000 km of a valve lifters on the passenger side bank due to the automatic fuel management system costing $4000 coupled with an oil pump failure at 110,00 km costing over $2000 I will never purchase another GMC product. The reliability of the vehicles (2016 Sierra 1500) specially the 5.3L engine that at one time was probably the best engine made has gone downhill fast.

All the added bells and whistle have killed the engine reliability. Getting 200,000 km from a vehicle/engine should not require major repairs. I understand things like starter, alternator, brakes and battery will require replacement, but this vehicle has not been driven hard and well maintained so two major engine repairs is not acceptable at this mileage.

The issue with the valve lifters and AFM system is well known and something GMC has not done anything about. For these reasons GMC has lost a customer for life.

Hello, I own a 2018 GMC Terrain Serial # 3GKALMEV7JL314616. It has 69,345 KM and I am having issues with the Sun roof and shade. I called the dealer and they said this it is not covered under the Total Plus warranty. I paid the extra money so i could have the best warranty. I am not happy with there answer. You can see I have purchase in the past a new 2012 Terrain, 2013 GMC Sierra and 2014 GMC Sierra.
