Gems N Loans

On Sunday Gems N Loans Vista closes at 5pm. I arrived at 4:54 and I was told that it was too late to do a loan.

They close at 5pm. No where on their building or website does it state a time that u must be there to do a loan. I have 8 loans here and I pay my loans online. 90% of the people that come in the door need a loan.

I have never been turned away when I have arrived before closing.

I only had 1 item and it would have not taken that long.

What really gets me is that I had to leave my grandsons basketball game in San Diego to get here on time. If the money wasn't urgent I would have never left his game.

This is very upsetting and disappointing.

So, I was searching for a MacBook pro to purchase and I found their post on Craigslist that stated they had 6 in stock all brand new. I called and a guy named Richard picked up... Nice guy, helpful, and told me he called the shop to have the one I wanted (which was a late 2014 with the specs I was looking for) reserved since he was out of town. He told me to call the shop to let them know when I was going to pick it up (and FYI I live in Corona so it's about a hour drive.) However, when I called to let them know when I was heading down a girl girl by the name of Taylor told me they had sold it.... First strike...

Taylor apologized for the inconvenience, sent me photos of what was left and decreased the price by $300. She was kind and helpful, and I did my research on the last 2 models they had and I chose one, which was not what I was looking for in terms of the graphics card, but it was still under Apple warranty when I researched the serial on the back of the box and I decided to get extended Apple care once I bought it. I also realized they had multiple locations and decided to ask if they could transfer the laptop to their Temecula location to cut down the drive and she said sure. She then asked if I can pay it in full at the Temecula location before it was dropped off, which I thought was weird because I haven't inspected to make sure the product was legit so I kindly told her no. She then asked if there was any way for me to drive down to Vista because the day she was going to drop it off the Temecula location was on her day off...(Umm...Okay...) So, I just decided to drive down and I made sure she put it on layaway and we set a date which was today. Yes, I drove down today and am writing this review today because I'm that annoyed.

I drive down there, approach the counter and tell the guy (some Filipino salesman) I have a reservation of a MacBook pro. He brings it out and it's not the correct model. Second strike...

I tell him that and he goes back and brings out the correct one with my name on it and the print out of the order... Now here's where it gets infuriating... I ask him if I can inspect the laptop and he says yes. I turn over the box to see the product and serial number which is correct. I then open the box and turn the laptop over to make sure the serial on the laptop matches the box... Low and behold it doesn't....

I cannot emphasize this enough to all you buyers, but ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING LINES UP WHEN BUYING A COMPUTER BECAUSE THEY WERE ABOUT TO SELL ME AN EARLY 2013 MACBOOK PRO IN A MID 2015 BOX! They tried to scam me and I was pissed... Do not buy electronics here or any pawn shop for that matter since this left me with a serious bad taste in my mouth. And especially the fact they had me drive a hour out of my way with no customer satisfaction. Avoid this pawn shop. Avoid every one of their locations. Hopefully some of you will be saved from getting super ripped off.

On July first of 2012 I redeemed a pawn on a 55 gram, 14 karat gold aries medallion. Immediately thereafter, my family home was robbed of several valuable items of gold and gems, including my aries medallion.

Despite denials that Gems N' Loans was not involved, the timing of this felony was not coincidental. Even members of the San Marcos Police Department admit that Gems N' Loans "knew something". Gems N' Loans took my home address from my pawn ticket to rob my family home what I refused to sell them. Gems N' Loans robbed my family of a one carat Burma ruby, a ten karat, multi-faceted, chrome green tourmaline, the 55 gram, 14 karat gold aries medallion, and a unique, hand forged, gold, anchor chain with an antique, Asian lady dressed in a kimono, hand carved from light green jade standing three inches by one inch.

(the pendant was three dimensional, not flat). Before we completely suspected, my daughter and I went into Gems N' Loans. The doorman had a look of fear and followed us into the store where "Otto" was selling an item of jewelry of exceptional value (like my stolen jewelry) to a female customer. Otto, immediately had the doorman escort his customer to her auto, then he looked at me directly and exclaimed "A ten thousand dollar day!".

There were no items of jewelry in Gems N' Loans (which was empty that day) that justified a ten thousand dollar day. I realized after that day that Gems N' Loans had perpetrated this crime against me, their own customer! I had refused to sell my jewelry I had pawned to Otto of Gems N' Loans, so he had my home robbed of what I refused to sell. Despicable!

I redeemed a pawn from a 55 gram solid gold aries medallion from the Escondido store. While I was out during morning hours grocery shopping for my sick, elderly parents (who were present in the another part of the house) a robbery occurred at my home where the medallion, along with other equally items of gems and gold were taken.

I told "john" about the robbery and he responded like his company had no knowledge of it. However, the doorman always had a look of fear when I would come into the store and one time he actually followed my daughter and I into the pawn shop and watched us while the owner was bragging about a valuable purchase a customer was making. I did not make the connection and when the customer left the store the owner bragged additionally how had just made a $10,000.00 sale. I am afraid to leave my house because I know now this pawnbroker had something to do with the robbery at my home.

Be afraid of this company; they will rob its own customers.

I came in for a Ring to be Sized up and I even brought more gold to add to do so. Instructions left with employee and was told that their jeweler would have no problem with this job.

I left detailed instructions to add gold if needed. Two weeks I receive a call asking if I would be interested in one of their rings that they already had, I said NO , the ring I gave them was 14 white gold and diamonds were of high grade VVS1 color clear. So another week I later I called and was told still not ready. 11 days later I get a call , ring was ready.

It took 45 minutes for them to find my ring. What was handed to me was not what I expected nor were the diamonds mine , the ring was the correct size but nothing like what was told to me was done. I took it to another jeweler who SHOWED me the CRUDE CUT and CRUDE workmanship that ring was added gold to. And he also said that the quality of diamonds were different.

IS which is a poor quality score. I I followed up with the BBB and GEM N' LOANS completely changed their story around. Not only are they lying but THIEVES as well.

Since I have all the voice mails saved it will be easy to prove my case , because I have every intention of suing them. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME their are PLENTY of similar reviews with gold MISSING or LOST PAWNS ..
