Substandard Material & Workmanship, Poor Customer Service

I posted a complaint about work bathroom, poor workmanship and customer service last time. I did not post anything after that. Not because the issues were addressed satisfactorily, but simply that there are so many issues I was busy trying to have them fixed one after another. No hot water in the kitchen, No water pressure, Water leaks, Loose Faucets, Master bath not according to order the list goes on. We moved only after over one month after settling on the property. We ran the laundry first time yesterday and the basement is flooded, the insulation wet. I am getting everything together to make formal case.

User's recommendation: Stay Away From This Builder. Government should investigate.

Poor Customer Service & Product

Winslet: Our worst nightmare. The only way we come to know about closing not happening is when we hear nothing and the closing does not happen. We are neither given the closing date nor informed that it is postponed. We heard from our lender or when another client heard about his. We were supposed to close in May or first week of June. Has not happened until now. No one has informed us why or has given us another date. Ane even worse, No one is available to talk. My email to salesperson and title never get answered. Further, we see that things are not built according to the order we placed and materials we requested. Again no one knows who is responsible. They have already changed the contractors 3 times.

User's recommendation: STAY AWAY.

Now homeless.

I don't hardly know where to begin. Since tri-corner and gemcraft are now one in the same I suppose I'm going to leave this post on both sites. It's been over 14 months since we started this process. We were supposed to be in our home in October 2018. It is now almost July 2019 and we are still not in our home. We were giving the closing date of June 21st 2019. New furniture delivery Movers installers for internet TV etcetera all lined up to go. Hatter walkthrough June 18th and was told by the foreman there is no way we are going to close on the 21st. Sure enough we are not closing on the 21st. Today is June 20th. As of the 24th we are homeless. They don't care. We don't know what we're going to do. We already had two storage units we've been paying on for over a year. We are going to have to get Movers to move what's in our temporary home to another storage unit and live in a hotel. I haven't even tried finding a place it's going to accept us with 5 cats and a dog. From the get-go the lot we chose wasn't big enough for the house we wanted so we had pick a larger lot at twice the price. Why offer lots that don't support what you're selling??? Then that lot had a vein of walk through it that they had to blast. They didn't do it right the first time. Apparently they blasted at least once more that we were not aware of. Then the lot sat and sat and sat and sat. They told us they were waiting for special equipment to break up the Rock. That was a bold face lie. They weren't paying their contractors at that time so nobody was doing any work so for weeks we waited hoping something would be done to find out later why nothing was being done. At that point we got a lawyer fortunately we only got $500 loss out of it all with fees. We called her off because suddenly things were getting done and quickly. That's when gemcraft merged , took over or whatever they did. Seeing so much happening and being advised that their lousy contract left us practically no recourse we decided do not enter litigation. I'm not going to list all of the other issues as they are minor compared to everything else. I am quite concerned about the one-year checkup to fix things, the grading of the lot in the Landscaping that they do for future problems from what I've been reading from other people. On top of all of these problems with closing, we are losing deposits on deliveries, Movers, I have taken off work for two weeks to pack and prepare to move as I did my husband for several days. Chances are closing will be on a day when one of us absolutely cannot be available because of work. As of right now I'm terribly sick to my stomach as my life is falling apart in front of me in the next 3 days. Their solution is to beg our land lord for another week. Place is already re rented. Is another week enough??? No new closing date. Worried sick now....... On another side note house looks beautiful they had Amish and Mexicans working on it. In my opinion they did rather good work from what we have seen for the most part. HELP!!!

Exceptional Experience During Stressful Transition

Gemcraft Homes - Exceptional Experience During Stressful Transition
My fiancé and I had a house built through Gemcraft Homes in May of 2018. We sold our prior home much quicker than anticipated and Gemcraft was able to complete our new home in only 89 days! Everything was finished exactly as promised. I absolutely love the extremely livable floor plan of our new home. We had an open house a couple of months ago inviting family, friends and some of our new neighbors. We received such positive feedback from everyone in attendance and were asked by many who built our beautiful new home. We highly recommend Gemcraft based on the experience that we had with them.

Service For Your New Home Is A Zero

Let me start off by saying that I have been in the place where you now find yourself. I researched Gemcraft before getting my home built and read all these terrible reviews. I still decided to pull the trigger and have them build me a house despite the reviews. The house is beautiful and for that I give 5 stars all day long, however it is the Service Department that rates a big fat zero. Once you go to settlement don't even think of having an open line of communication with the builder and the service team....they play you pretty good. They act like you can call them on their personal phone anytime but you are left leaving dozens and dozens of messages that go unheard. Here are some things as an example that you can rely on never being fixed (as is the example with my house): Broken sliding door, driveway repaved, water stains (where shoddy sprinklers were installed) painted, cracks in the cement, terrible landscaping (including planting of dead trees), cable outlet that was ordered installed, and those are just a few things. Mr. Joe and Mr. Brian will appear to be your best friends at first but after your house is settled on you won't hear from these gentleman again as they do not pick up their cell-phones or their office phones and never return calls. I have even tried calling the Chief Operating Officer of Gemcraft and he doesn't pick up his phone either. It's unfortunate but it is going to have to come to the act of litigation in order for these people to respond and even than it's a toss up. Be forewarned avoid unless you are a very mechanically inclined person who can do your own repairs.
