GE Money Capital keeps calling my phone at all hours saying I have a loan for $5 grand that will be deposited to my bank account. Funny, I haven't applied for a loan! I call to find out what is going on and the "Indian speaking" man couldn't tell me anything other than that I had applied and said well what do you want, you applied for it so do you want a loan or not?! He continued with this banter until I told him not to be a smart *** and he said well you are a ***!! I asked to speak with a supervisor and he said this is a supervisor, I asked again, and he put me on the phone with some caribbean cruise line recording. Isn't there a law against this? I am beyond mad!!! He was beyond rude!

The same guy called me asking for me to send money to get a loan and I ask to speak with a supervisor, I also told him I had recorded his call. He said in order for me to receive the 5K, I would have to pay some fees for taxes and insurance but what they don't tell you if you pay the $95 and you turn right around within 30 mins and cancel, you forfeit you money but first he said it would take 24 hours to return the money then it was 90 days then because I cancelled I would lose the the $95 then said it would take 120 days.

I ended up cussing him out and told him don't play with my money because I am sure he don't want anyone playing with his. DON'T FOOL WITH THEM!!!!

Ge Money - Loan Application Review from Pennsylvania, United States

I had applied for like 3 loans for the month of April oddly this company had gotten my information, I was willing to listen to their approach they said i had been approved for $1000 then I hear the manger I was speaking to named (Jack) say that I would have to pay a $95 processing fee, I was like oh no the reason for which I need the loan is for money, I don't want to have to pay money he began to sexual harass me saying he'd wave my fee for sexual favors I asked to speak to someone else and he began to say oh no your money is in your account I guess to try to shut me up then when i asked to be transferred he hung up all my calls were forwarded to some ghetto voice mail they had set up. I called back a few days later to complain about this sicko and they kept pretending my call was transferred but the guy was still (Jack) this loser even tired to fake a southern accent, by the way what Indian do you know named Jack? All punts intended. The company is Indian based and it sound like its not even a business just people waiting to seal others hard working money. I reported them to the Better Business Burrow.

What A Bunch Of Thieves!

In September 2008, my husband and I opened a credit account with Wolf's Furniture and the credit company was Citicards. Between September 2008 and March 2009 we purchased a coffee table/end tables set, a mattress and box spring, and 3 bedroom suites. 2 of the bedroom suites were returned leaving our total at $4529. In March 2011, I made a payment of $1700.00 to Citi. At the same time, GE Money took over the account. I have been late on my payments due to the fact that I only get paid twice a month, but only by a couple of days. Today I called to find out what the payoff would be and ended up speaking to a foreigner that I could barely understand. The payoff I was quoted was $3554. After 4 years of payments? Really!!? I ended up having to go to Wolf's and get copies of everything I had purchased since the day we opened the account. I was told 3 times that GE couldn't go back past 12 months to look at my account to see if the $1700 or the furniture we returned had been credited to our account, but yet another foreigner named Sandy read off his computer all of the transactions we made from 2008 forward. Then, when I asked him to tell me where my money had gone, he told me to hold for a supervisor and then left me on hold for 15 minutes until I hung up. I was told that I have to write to them to get the information I need and to dispute the total due and I have to provide proof that I made payments totaling $5436.00 in the past 2 years. These thieves charge customers for everything. They are impossible to deal with. I was told that, after the first 2 years of payments to Citi on an account that was only $4529 to begin with, they bought the account for $5500. In the past 2 years I've made payments totaling that amount, but still owe $3554? I would've even been willing to pay these crooks another $1500 if it would've paid the account off and closed it, but they insist on me paying something I've already paid. I will never do business with them again and will be filing a complaint with the BBB tomorrow.

GE Money/Care Credit are liars and scam artists!

I applied for and was approved for a GE MONEY/ Care Credit credit card from my orthodontist's office so I could get the invisalign braces. They offer this service as a payment option and it was convenient since I could not afford the $5500 out of pocket all at once. I had been working on repairing my credit for years and had finally gotten my credit rating into the 700s. I never missed a payment and always payed more than the minimum payment. Unfortunately, like many of us I lost my job and then my employers contested my unemployment and they won. So I lost my unemployment and had to go on welfare as I have some other health issues that need to be addressed. I continued to pay the $165 monthly payments for about 6 months with the little money I was receiving from welfare and in October 2010 I called Care Credit to see if I could get my monthly payments reduced. I was told that it would be no problem and that if I just payed the current months minimum payment, the following month I would only need to pay $27 because they would enroll me into the Hardship plan. The representative at Care Credit gave me her name AND her supervisors name "just in case". I held up my end of the bargain by paying $165 and the following month I was surprised to see that my minimum payment had not changed at all...So I called to inquire and I was told that I had misunderstood the terms of the agreement. I was told that I was supposed to pay an additional $165 in addition to the $165 that was my normal month minimum payment and that then I would have been entered into the Hardship Plan. I complained that that was not the case and asked to speak to the representative that entered me into the program. Her name is Cheryl Motley. But I was told that I could not speak to a specific representative. So I asked to speak to her supervisor, Kevin Odell, and I was told that I was not permitted to speak to any supervisor. Seems odd since I had been such a reliable customer paying down my balance to about $1200 was all that was left on my debt. I tried to get in touch with a supervisor several times and each time I was placed on hold for several minutes only to be disconnected. So I stopped all payments. If this is how you are going to treat reliable customers, then ***! So, I later found out that they reported me to the credit agencies and have now tanked my credit rating into the 500s. I was denied financial aid for graduate school over this. I had to appeal, make new payment arrangements with Care Credit and was finally granted financial aid again. When I called to make new payment arrangements, I found out that my new balance on my account was now over $1900.00 because I had defaulted on my obligations. Now I explained to the representative what my situation was and what I had encountered there before and he said it would be no problem to enter me into the Hardship Plan that would bring my monthly payments down to $25 a month for 9 months, as long as I made an immediate payment...So I paid $50 to be enrolled into the Hardship program. He also informed me that the reason I was not originally enrolled into the program was because I had made a payment online rather than over the telephone or some such garbage excuse. I wanted to speak to a supervisor and again I was placed on hold and disconnected after nearly 15 minutes on hold. When I received my notice from Care Credit stating that I had been enrolled into the Hardship Plan, it bore little resemblance to the terms I had been given. The terms now where that I would have to pay the $165 dollars a month minimum payment as usual, AND in addition, I would also pay $25 additionally for the hardship plan each month bringing my total monthly payment to $190 which doesn't make a *** bit of sense. Why would I enroll into a Hardship program that required higher minimum monthly payments that the ones that were causing me hardship in the first place? So now, Care Credit is again sending me threatening notices of reporting me to the collection agencies. I have held to my end of the bargain here each time and each time Care Credit changes their obligations without my informed consent. Care Credit, uses customer hardship to expedite the amount due on the bill and to apply retroactive interest on the monies that have already been paid. They deliberately mislead, misinform, and there is no other word to use but say that they lie to their customers in order to increase the money they are owed. Within a few months of being enrolled into the Hardship Plan my outstanding balance on my account has nearly doubled. This is ***! These are the tactics that have Gov. Cuomo investigating their practices. Thank you for listening! Avoid them at all cost!!!

Totally understand, they pulled the same *** on me also. I couldn't keep paying their ridiculous minimums which were almost pure interest, and was getting nowhere (I was unemployed at the time too) when I tried to discuss the situation with them, they referred me to what they called an "escalation specialist"!

Made me feel like I was an inmate at an asylum or something...

Finally I just stopped paying them for good, but they sicced some collectors on me who have been hounding me for a very long time. I would never deal with them again, even if they were the last credit company on earth.

GE Credit CARE Card

Alliance, sponsored and offered by a former dentist.

The GE Credit Care Cards as offered by my former dentist was fraudulent as they transact business in wanton bad faith practices.

Foremost, out of the start gate, GE Credit Care loan services neglected to start the first payment as agreed upon signing for said credit line, as they put my payments in late - a month later. Of course this jumped me into their preferred PRIME LENDING scams with excessive fees (a skirt around money lending usury laws). Of course GE servicing is based in Canada and I was informed they did not have to comply to California lending laws.

Coupled with their Collection agency, they gave no recourse for appeal in the U.S. Small Claims Court, ignored pro bono notices for arbitration/mediation as well. Apparently they are excellent at spoilating (removing) data and correspondence that does not suit the collection money practices.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS

GE Mony are Extortionist. I ran into the same problems as above.

There has to be something Illegal here. I started with a payment of $55. per month, then GE Money must've bought old credit agency out, payment went to $80..The pay dates changed un beknownst to me...5 months later they tell me I have 5 x $35 in late chages, because due date not met. My payments went up to $100 per month.

I recently changes from Wachovia over to Wells Fargo, and can PROVE payment sent for due date..and they still charged me..I paid #39 late fee....but they tell NOW my monthly payment is $130????? How can this even possibly be?

No one there can ever explain nothing....and when they try to find out the line always go dead...disconnects to start the bull all over again. GOVERNOR where are You...this is Robbery!!!

Who can help? They will eventually try to ruin my CREDIT...I'm sure.

Contact your state banking or consumer credit division. Have copies of all your records.

New federal laws went into effect last year which make these practices illegal. Your state attorney general's office can also assist you.

Guest

forget credit. cash is king.

stop living above your means and going after luxuries you can't afford. Seriously. By the time you pay off those braces they are old and falling out of your mouth. Last of all when a company screws you just stop paying.

Let them run up all those little fees and then just dispute it right off your credit. Works everytime. I used to deal with these jokers till i realized they just didn't want me to pay my bill and would do anything to slow up the process.

Let the fools play with credit. Cash is king.

Mr. Begor:

Starting in February of 2011, I have experienced a glitch in your CareCredit website which reverses payments I have made. When I call customer service, the claim is that my bank account / routing information was not entered correctly. By this time (usually 5-7 days later) I have accumulated a late fee on my account which is now an accumulated balance of around $140.00. Also, due to this problem, I have made payments over the phone with my debit card and been charged $15.00 per transaction, which is half of my total minimum payment amount.

I called my bank to verify that all of the numbers I had were correct and I checked all of my bank statements. I have also verified, taken screen shots from my computer, and sat down with my Attorney to show him the payment process. During this time, the confirmation page (which has written verification of the account numbers entered) shows that the numbers are exactly the same as the ones on my personal bank account statement.

This error has occurred every time I have made a payment this year. I have also done some research to find out that I am not the only person experiencing this problem. After several calls I have made to your company to have this resolved I have only been redirected and then hung up on.

Another problem I have noticed the last few times I have logged in to your website, the forum for my bank account information was already populated with incorrect numbers. Even though I reversed the numbers and entered my correct information, the payment was yet again reversed.

I would also like to know why every other company I submit a payment to sends me a Receipt of Payment Confirmation notice right away and your company sends me a "Request for Payment Sent" notice which requires me to check my back account to verify that it has gone through. Then, I have to check it every day and wonder at what point it will be late, usually 3 days in my experience. By this time, I have another late fee and I am being harassed by incessant phone calls at all hours of the day and night and from different phone numbers telling me my "account needs attention".

This is extreme business malpractice and an attempt to extort your customers. I will not stand for the stress and frustration which this scam has brought upon me and my family. I am unemployed and you have been fraudulently stealing from me when all I have tried to do is make my payments. This is your last chance to refund my late fees and allow me to pay off the correct amount that I owe before I join several hundred people in a class-action lawsuit against your company.

General Electric pays off regulators with bailout money - GE was fined for violating the regulator laws on ones utitilies and other items; however,

back in November 2009, the federal government agreed to insure as much as $139 billion in debt for GE Capital. The funds for this fine was from Recovery Act money paid by taxpayers, not General Electric; therefore, American citizens now paying wrongdoer's their fines for violating the law!

Tactics within use of "loop-holes in the regulation and statements that GE will not comply to the law - Obama administration now wants to close such loopholes such as the ones GE Money Bank has used to illegal obtain TARP funding. The Obama administration told GE today they will either become a lending institute or they will only be involved in commerce. However, in a recent Washington Post report GE's Chief executive Jeffrey Immelt said, "GE had no intention of doing that". It is seems GE does care what any American law cites UCC, criminal and civil.

I would look forward in moving with a Class Action suit to bring Mr. Immelt and others affiliated with GE into court and requested they all be fined, arrested and charged for their actions against consumers.

Doubtful anyone can recover money damages from a corrupt business, but they can all spend several years in jail with those they have abused too. Any takers...

What ever you do DO NOT have any dealings with SYNCHRONY BANK that is the new name that GE Money Bank, GE Capital Retail Money Bank & GE Capital Retail Bank have changed there name to. You should also not open any credit cards that use either of these several names yet the same bank they are just as guilty as this bank.

You can go to Rip-Off Report #114**** where you will see in the last rebuttal what stores & companies USE this corrupt corporation. This is from an Employee at GE Money, GE Capital Retail Money Bank & GE Capitla Retail Bank which is now Synchrony Bank! If you would like to see a 3 minute video on You Tube just type in GE Capital Retail Pay Pal & look for the Two Green Snakes.

It is a video with the comments made along with very important information on why they put your account “Overdue” days before it is actually due & then charge you late fees amongst other things.

I had the EXACT same problems with GE Money/Care Credit. Exactly!

I practically begged them to work with me.

After getting the shaft/runaround for too long, I finally filed a grievence/complaint with the BBB.

Unfortunately due to companies like GE Money that are too greedy to work with honest, hard working people who sometimes find themselves in tight economic binds, I was forced to file bankruptcy.

Good luck with your ordeal.

GE Money and excessive finance charges

I had written earlier that I felt cheated by GE Money when they tacked on an absorbent amount of finance charges on a purchase of a water heater. I had signed up for one of those if you pay it off in a year no finance charges would be accrued. I didn't know that I had an additional balance on my last balance and was charged $735 when I had almost paid for the entire water heater. I was certainly upset over this excessive charge. I wrote a letter to GE Money complaining of this excessive charge. They responded quickly and have credited my account almost $400!! I was delighted. It was the entire $735 but it was a large % of the charge. I was impressed with their ability to act quickly and appropriately. I was a pissed consumer and now feel vindicated.

GE Money and excessive finance charges

Updated by user Feb 11, 2012

I am pleased to report that GE Money resolved the issue of the excessive finance charges of the water heater I purchased. I sent a letter to GE Capital since I could not find an e-mail address.

I ranted about the >$700 charge on an item that I had almost paid for. I did not include my account number in the letter. It was basically a letter to relieve me of my distress. Two weeks later I received a letter from GE Capital telling me that they would credit me $390 for the finance charge.

It wasn\'t the entire finance charge but it was more than half.

I was impressed that someone took the time to look up my account and attempt to rectify the situation. I am very satisfied with the outcome.

Original review Jan 11, 2012
I purchased a water heater and was told that I could finance it through GE Money and not pay any interest if I pay it off in one year. I thought I had paid it off at the end of Dec. 2011. But I didn't. My balance was $135 and because of that and since I didn't pay close enough attention due to the holidays and all. I had to pay ALL of the finance charges for the entire water heater which was $1638. The grand total ended up being $2300. for a water heater. No negotiation. nothing. I will NEVER EVER do this again. Lesson learned the hard way.

GE Money - They should be brought up on charges as a company.

I have yet to hear of a positive experience with these LOAN SHARKS. I strongly encourage anyone, everyone to avoid doing business in any way, shape or form with GE Money / Credit services. Keep this in mind, when you get thos 0% for 6 months deals at places like Discount Tire, Lowe's home improvement, Grandma's Music...etc., etc. etc. ASK IF THE CREDIT IS BEING OFFERED BY GE MONEY! If so, walk out, take your business elswhere. These companies lose sales do to their affiliation with GE Money, the more likely they will seperate their association with GE, and the more GE loses, the more their profits drop, the more their investors disengage, and hopefully, one day, GE Money will be non-existant. Save your credit! Do business only with ETHICAL companies.

Email bills and late notices but mail your promotion is expiring!

I am frustrated and will never use GE Money again. We purchased a bed from SleepCountry and using GE Money we got the no interest. We planned on paying the bed off in full when the promotion expired. We made our payments via electronic which they promote and you can receive your bill electronically which most do now. But did you know that when you are late, they will email you and they will email you when they received your payment but when your PROMOTION IS TO EXPIRE, THEY MAIL IT TO YOU! Really, mail that to me. You think they would send you an email with your last email statement saying that this is the last month of your promotion so pay in full or you will be charged $850 worth of interest. RIP OFF!! no they will not tell you because they want to do the sneek attack and get more money out of us. I talked to the manager Mark Henry and all he could do for me was to reduce it by $350. That really is nothing. No wonder why our economy is the way it is. You think they would work with us and give us a heads up they way they should and not have double standards for getting information to us. DO NOT USE GE MONEY FOR FINANCING ANYTHING AND IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE YOU WILL GET HIT WITH THE FINANCE CHARGES AT THE END, THEY WILL ONLY MAIL YOU THE NOTICE NOT EMAIL LIKE THEY DO THEIR BILL.

Ge money / qvc ruined my credit

I got a qvc card ( ge money), I purchased something and went on line to pay off the balance. Apparently there was still a balance of a dollar and change, which I was unaware of. Mean while they lowered my credit limit to about $200 and I never received a notice of this. I never receive a statement of this dollar and change didn't find anything strange not getting a statement - because I thought I was paid off in full. Someone calls me today and informs me that I'm 90 days past due. They said they lowered my limit to $200 and since I had a bill of a dollar and change and they didn't receive payment they charged me late fees plus an over the limit fee - I explained that I never received a bill and thought I was paid off - (who wouldn't pay a bill for a dollar to save their credit). They reported 90 days late to the credit bureaus and had to pay them money even once I closed my account. The only thing I did wrong was go on line to see my total balance and paid in full what it read. I'm closing all my GE accounts (Lowe's, pay pal, amazon,JC penny,Walmart) and my wife will be doing the same (Amazon,Banana Republic, gap, old navy, Meijers, pay pal,NBC,QVC, Lowe's, Walmart, Sam's, both her jcpenney accounts) Don't need credit messed up anymore than already has been by this horrible company.

I have a GE money card because of a purchase I made from Amazon.I had been paying them through my bank and not really looking at the statements that were mailed to me. I just handled my account online.

This past month I looked at my statement mailed from GE and there was $43.00 late fee. I had paid my bill on the 5th of the month and this according to them was too early, seems there is a certain time limit for paying them and that is 7th through the 28th only anything after this date or before this date will incur a late fee.I had no idea as I had not been told or read this rule anywhere on anything they sent to me so anyone that has a GE money account should be aware of this little "Gotcha" from GE.

Guest

I wouldn't give them my phone number, for sure! :p

Guest

I work for a company who uses GE MONEY for it's credit accounts. They have really tightened up their credit limits since the recession, as should be expected.

I have heard customers share similar stories of minimal unpaid balances and not receiving statements.

The 29% interest rate is what is so alarming to me. I can't, in good conscience, even offer a credit card to someone.

Guest

Got tied up with GE Moneybank through Dan Honig and Waterworkz. They paid him before he did the work and then wouldn't listen to any of my complaints.

They could not even produce the contract, because it had not been complete, but almost ruined my credit. Had to hire a lawyer, who did get it straightened out. It cost a lot, but a lot less than what GE wanted and they straightened out my credit. It is a shame they are tied to so many credit card companies.

I have cancelled most of mine related to GE. They caused most of my balances to be reduced to unusable amounts. I travel a lot and it really became a problem. Even though GE tried to ruin my credit they still routinely send me letters to consolidate my bills with them.

I have closed my account with them, but they still act like I have not.

My opinion is it is a pretty worthless company. I'm pretty sure they take advantage of anyone they can.

Updated information for my posting #253028

Since I cannot locate the added information link I am posting this as an update. After almost 3 years, dozens of letters and phone calls I posted my complaint on this web site. Within 48 hours of posting, GE Money contacted me and after a few days accepted that I was not at fault. They were very nice and apologetic and promised to remove the collection and derogatory statement from my credit. I was pleased with the way they handled the situation and I sent them payment immediately. As of today, the derogatory statement still appears in my credit file but that may be due to processing time at the bureaus. If you cannot get satisfaction from usual channels, e-mail Nancy at the address she has posted in my complaint. Look it up at complaint #253028.

More than likely you are a calling a call centers. Call center employee's are held to talk times (meaning they have a limit to the amount of time they can stay on a phone call). Trouble shooting network issues is the longest thing to do on a phone call.

Then sometimes customers want you to troubleshoot non company websites or third party affilate websites. In which they can only do so much, because they typically are only trained on THEIR websites.

More than likely its the associates trying to get you off the phone. If the company wanted to force you to put your payment in the mail and it to be late as a "conspiracy", they could.

They could just take away all the other payment options and make it so you have to send a payment through mail. That would be perfectly legal.
