Poor Customer Service
My wife and I came in looking for a new travel trailer and found one we were interested in, yet the salesman did not seem interested in selling it to us. We left to go home and think about it.
In the meantime, the model we were interested in was sold, so we found one at Lerch RV which was quite a drive, but we were willing to take it.
Fast forward to just recently when we found our RV needed some work to the slide. I called Gayle Kline RV for repairs and after telling them where I purchased the RV, Beth, in the service department, told me they were very busy and were not taking any new customers. She then said they were busy until the end of November. I said, that's ok, I can wait.
She then said, we're not taking any new customers.
I've never dealt with such rudeness. Whenever I've brought a vehicle to a dealer for repairs, they are more than happy to perform the repairs - no matter where I purchased the vehicle from.
Not happy.
I bought a new travel trailer about a year and a half ago. They gave me a large catalog of what they sell.
We wanted a recliner so we bought one else where since they did not have one in their catalog. I wanted to pay them to install it. They would not do it since i did not buy it there. I spent all the money buying a new travel trailer from them but it did not matter.
I just bought a new fifth wheel but not from them for sure.
When you get as big as they are it does not matter about one customer. Also i was never told their policy before hand.

Total disgusted customer
Our experience with the service department has been a nightmare . There mechanics are lazy and sloppy.
We bought a new 2017 jayco 32ft bunkhouse w/slide last summer . They say they go over the whole camper to clean and make sure everything works , Not True ! We just had it in to Klines because there was a recall from Jayco Co. that they needed to fix , we get our camper back and they had hit something .
Our camper has 2 dent on the up and lower back corner. It makes me sick !
I have never experienced a more disfuction service department. Save yourself from grief and avoid Gayle Kline RVs.
Never again
Yesterday was the last time we will ever set foot in Gayle Kline RV. They have been servicing our camper for several years now.
My husband stopped in to make an appointment to drop it off for inspection and winterization and asked if they could dump the tanks for us. He was rudely told "that's not my job....dump it yourself before you bring it here". We don't think they even have a dump station anymore but the appropriate answer would have been "we don't have the facilities to do that". The man behind the service counter then started badgering my husband to provide all of the stats for our truck and trailer and when my husband could not remember the weight of the trailer, he started shouting at him (on front of other customers) about us illegally towing and that they refused to inspect the camper.
My husband told him we have had it serviced there before and he could look up the stats, but he refused. We have NEVER been asked for this information when trying merely to set an appointment and I fail to see how the tow vehicle is any of their business. We have a 3/4 ton Vortex 8.1 Chevy. I towed a fully loaded two horse trailer with living quarters with it for years.
I hardly think a 20 foot travel trailer is a problem. Anyway....he continued to be an *** to the point that two other employees approached my husband and said "he's just having a bad day, please excuse him." Nope....sorry, bad day or not, we will not be abused this way by someone we are going to be paying to provide us with a service. I would tow my camper 100 miles if I had to to find somebody else to service it.
Luckily for us there are other options, not as convenient as Gayle Kline, but certainly more customer oriented. They won't ever see us again.
- Customer service was beyond rude
Pissed off customer
we bought a brand new 2015 14 ft travel trailer,we felt like once the deal was done,,we were pushed out the door, good bye and good riddance, then after using it the second time the water heater exploded while we were using it,but we were not in the camper when it happened, because there would have been a huge lawsuit then,,before repairing the water heater they refused to honor the factory warranty,2 yr for workmanship of camper,we even reported them to the pa attorney general office, and they even lied to him,i will never set my feet on their property ,and i advise you never to do it also

Rude service personnel
Stopped in to talk to service personnel about checking over the plumbing on the camper I have. They responded by telling me to "check it out myself" at home, and that they were too busy this time of year to look at it.
I'm not sure if these people are intelligent or not, but why would I be standing there in front of them if I was an RV mechanic and could do it myself??
I learned my lesson -- I will never go back there for service or to buy an RV...EVER!! Will gladly give my business to someone who cares about customers....these people DON'T!!
No After Sale Support
The sales experience was good, like most places are when they are looking to make a deal.
After the sale is over you are quickly forgotten.
We were told that they do a full appliance check ( just words ) for the most part.
We had problems with the fridge from the 1st day, they said that they would not stand behind it.
We had to replace the fridge after 3 weeks of keeping them informed from the day 1.
We paid for it ourselves to be replaced after loosing all the contents, what a mess and frustration with dealing with them.
Its a shame in such a small nitch market that customers are treated this way.
STAY AWAY

An Untrustworthy RV Dealership
Gayle Kline RV Center, Mountville, PA
From our home on Long Island, NY, we located a used hybrid trailer at this
facility….a four hour drive away. Finding it mid-winter, we put down a deposit and waited for an opportunity to pick it up about two months later.
Because of the distance, we wanted to be assured that there where no leaks or water damage. It was a weekly question for the two months leading up to the pickup. Jerry Barger did assure us, weekly, that no leaks or damage existed. And, weekly, Mr. Barger assured us that, with 50 years as an RV retailer, we could trust their assessment. He also assured us that they do not walk away from the customer after the sale. Feeling comfortable, we drove the four hours to pick it up.
At the pickup, a quick look at the front bed was fine to our inexperienced eyes, especially with the mattress in place. It would be hard for inexperienced eyes to catch that the vinyl veneer under the mattress was very slightly bubbling. It was several weeks later, when spring weather allowed us to open it, that we found that the bottom 7" of the entire length of the plywood bed was warped and rotting from water damage under the vinyl veneer. Damage that took far more than a couple of months to get as extensive as it was.
Two months of assurances….plenty enough time to get it right,…..and they got it wrong. Well…..that's one possibility.
Their response to our polite email was short, sweet and essentially said only " You bought it as is." Yes, we did. But it was quite a change in their customer relations policy.
We knew that hybrid leaks can occur, hence the weekly questioning for 2 months.
We also understand and accept the "as is, no warranty" that goes with a used rv deal, but the bubbling would be too obvious to a dealer with 50 years experience to miss. With all the assurances he gave while asking us to trust them, Mr. Barger should have checked the trailer thoroughly. In this case, because of their response, I group an "honest" oversight with incompetence.
So….it's either deception or incompetence. They either knew it or missed it. They haven't responded to our second email to tell us which it is.
Holding to an "as is" contract is one thing. Holding onto it despite obvious deception or just plain incompetence is ethically poor business. Fessing up, making some amends and building a good reputation is better business.
I would not suggest patronizing or trusting Gayle Kline RV, especially Mr. Jerry Bargar.
